!4 Years - Out in ??
- A man was sentenced to 14 years in prison Thursday for the 2012 shooting death of a 17-year-old Chicago Ridge girl in the McKinley Park neighborhood on the South Side.
Joseph Sanders, 23, of Chicago, was found guilty Feb. 25 of second-degree murder for the death of Taylor Diorio on Aug. 18, 2012, according to the Cook County state’s attorney’s office. Prosecutors said Sanders is a “Chicago street gang member.”
Diorio was the front-seat passenger in a car driving in the 2400 block of West 35th during the early morning hours when the car stopped in front of Sanders’ home and another passenger briefly got out, prosecutors said. Sanders claimed a bottle was thrown at him when he looked out a second-story window, and responded by firing a gun multiple times at the car.
One of the shots struck Diorio in the right side of the head, prosecutors said. When Sanders started shooting, the other passenger got back in the car and the driver took the girl to a hospital.
So, out in seven years? After subtracting any time he spend in County awaiting trial, maybe a couple years, he's out in four-to-six? Hey Eddie, how about using this case in your spotlight on the lack of strict sentencing to deter crime - he's even paler than the people (or folks) that Toni is so uptight about.

The is an urgent need to achieve racial balance in our prisons. He will probably be reborn in prison and come out a changed person.
Judge Gaughan this week sentenced a guy that stabbed to deat another guy to 7 years. Granted they were gang bangers but even in crook county you are at least guranteed 10 years minimum. With time served this guy was released right after trial.
And as soon as the POS gets more he will have some blow and a gun quicker than most can get a driver's license at the DMV.
Great criminal justice system. Some real punishment being melted out. I firmly believe that when the liberal elites have death come knocking on their doors, as it has done for the rest of the population, will laws finally begin to be enforced. Until then, there is no justice and everyone gets to eat cake.

Are you kidding? You think Eddie will say anything about this? There will never be anything fair. Or any real justice, only the poolice are abusing people and harassing them, and violating their rights.. The boss will continue to take orders while taking home a nice paycheck, clout will still be here, cops will continue to be thrown under the bus and blamed for all the wrong doings of the folks in the neighborhood, and around the wheel it will go over and over again! I read an article from the tribune I think from 1991 regarding gangs and crime spikes in Chicago during the summer months. It was just like reading the newspaper today, only difference was the date. It's never going to end...
14 years seems about right. After all a former IL governor also got 14 years for murdering.......O wait (snark)
He needs a second chance. He was just mad that instead to recycling that bottle they threw it at him. He had a bright future as an environmental scientist and activist ahead of him.

Any repeat offenders given no time or minimal time and are being released by a Judge, then go ahead and commit another violent crime after release should be held more accountable up to and including Jail time this will solve many if not all shootings!

Sadly, in contrast, our officer is about to go on trial for murder for the on-duty killing of a knife wiedling felony offender and if found guilty, will more than likely receive a very hefty sentence.
