More Beach Problems
It's like the thugs of all colors have discovered the Happy Hunting Grounds where no police exist:
- Police responded to North Avenue Beach Friday afternoon for reports of a large disturbance, marking the second incident at the popular Chicago beach in this week.
Police officers were at the scene of the unusually crowded beach just before 3 p.m. near 1600 N. Lake Shore Dr. Police said the group appeared to be intoxicated.
Fire officials said authorities were called to the scene for an adult battery victim and three sick minors. Four ambulances were requested. Ambulances took all four to local hospitals, fire officials said. Their conditions were not immediately known.
[...] Police were also called to the popular beach on Memorial Day for a large brawl. Video from the scene showed a large group of people fighting for several minutes.
- The Chicago Police Department said it has no plans to increase patrols along the lakefront after a massive brawl broke out at North Avenue Beach on Memorial Day.
Chicago police had to shut down the beach because the crowd became too large. Some who frequent the beach are wondering if it could happen again.
[...] during the fracas, Chicago police were nowhere to be found. Chicago police did not report any arrests in connection with the fight.
What's the expression? "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Except in Rahm's Chicago, where any semblance of order is rapidly deteriorating as the Department numbers dwindle to merely being able to show up after the fact, cut paper and remove the dead/wounded.
