This did not make the News that I watched. Too much on Orlando this weekend, so Chicago slides by as far as violence over the weekend.
As to "the journalists on TV, get some people who understand the difference between semi-automatic rifles and automatic/machine guns. An AR-15 is NOT an automatic weapon. Too much focus on Gun Control instead of the real issue of going after radical Islamists.
So what is our strategy of retaliation? No one is talking about that? Gun control is NOT the answer.
At 2AM when Omar called in 911, they knew he was doing this for recognition from ISIS and the Brothers in the Boston Massacre, yet when the police and FBI were questioned at the 7:30AM (eastern) press conference, they deflected the question of whether or not this was "Islamic terrorist"-related. Looked like they were covering up any ties. So much for putting out the facts.
This country has a HUGE problem - Islamic Terrorism and it has to be addressed and dealt with - but first it as to be recognized for what it is.
Thank god area two is getting a new commander. There was about to be a mutiny !
Why not just put more police in 007 & 011??????
There can be only one district in this city worthy of wearing the crown of "The district with the most homicides". Both districts are crime riddled with homicides and all sorts of other crimes. However, by the end of the year one will wear the crown.

When you stop stopping the criminals, they feel free to carry. That's why expressway shootings are becoming common place also.
We don't stop them, they carry for a variety of reasons: settle a score, protect a dope spot, feel like a big man, you name it.

007 and 011are heating it up huh?
Don't be the least bit surprised if when Summer Mobile starts next week that they will probably find themselves sitting in a box in 007 or 011 and not working the lakefront.

How about put more police in the neighborhoods that like and respect the police. Neighborhoods where taxes are being paid yet crime is being ignored because the ghettos are out of control. 011/007 each have well over 380 officers assigned plus all the outside units. Nothing can be done, those areas are a lost cause, I say go with the scorched earth approach. F them, they don't want the police, stop sending units there.

Everyone, everywhere knew it was likely terrorism. Within thirty seconds of seeing the report at noon, I said Islamic Terrorism in a Gay Bar. The only thing that shocked me was it was a SINGLE Islamic Jihadi Fanatic.
Seems like the only politician talking about Islamic Terrorism is Donald Trump. He is not my ideal politician, but I will vote for him.
Compared to Hillary, I will gladly vote Trump.
Prayers for the hurt, the police, first responders, and their families. May God take the dead into his arms and comfort their families.

No, someone needs to get more guns on the streets. Guns in the hands of citizens.
Robberies will stop when a dozen robbers get ventilated in a week, every week.
Drive bys will not happen if the car gets shot to shit before it gets to the end of the block.
Burglars stop burgling when they reach room temperature.
The police cannot fix this.
The Courts and the States Attorneys refuse to fix this.
Only way Chicago gets better is if ten to twenty thousand hardcore scumbags get it worse.
Hurry summer mobile.
Anyone who's surprised by this isn't in touch with reality.
This is caused by several factors but here are some of the largest:
The "community" has a size able percentage of lawless thugs who seem to operate with impunity.
The politicians are afraid to mention the above for fear of hurting anyone's feelings and those same politicians are incessantly pandering to said "community" which only emboldens them more.
Because of everyone ( Rahm and his ilk, Revruns, media, the "community"),constantly criticizing and second guessing the police the police have gone fetal in self preservation mode.
There are numerous reasons for the out of control violence but the above 2 factors alone loom very large in the equation.
But McDonalds is coming.
