Another Day, Another Officer Down

  • An officer with Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department was in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after being shot while on-duty.

The officer, whose identity has not been released, had responded to a report of person being shot at by several people in a vehicle. When he and other officers arrived on the scene, the three or four occupants of the car jumped out and ran away, police said in a news release.

One officer took one suspect into custody at 1:39 p.m., but a second officer was shot at 1:57 p.m. when he tried to make contact with another suspect, police said.
Unfrtunately, this Officer has since died.

And earlier today, it was revealed that the Officer shot near St. Louis is paralyzed from the neck down:
  • A suburban St. Louis police officer shot in the neck during a traffic stop is paralyzed from the neck down due to what the Ballwin police chief calls "catastrophic damage to his spinal cord."

Officer Michael Flamion was shot from behind on July 8 after stopping a man for speeding in Ballwin, a well-to-do St. Louis County town of about 30,000 residents. Antonio Taylor of St. Louis was arrested later that day and is jailed on $500,000 bond on several charges, including first-degree assault of a law enforcement officer.
Prayers for all of the fallen and wounded.

Milwaukee officer Brandon Baranowski, who was shot several times Sunday morning while sitting in his squad car after responding to a domestic, should recover, thanks to his vest. Offender killed himself, saving everyone the bother.

Coppers are getting killed, homicides and shootings are out of control and our hands have been cuffed. And the cuffs keep getting tighter. All while IPRA and the department are burning coppers left and right. You're expendable and you're just one questionable or controversial incident away from losing your job or your freedom. So fuck it. Treat it as nothing more than a paycheck. Fuck this job and

STAY FETAL

RIP our brothers in Blue. The only difference between putting on our uniform and a big red bullseye is the color we are being targeted. Like Barry Obama cannot say radical Muslim terrorist he does not call these thugs black lies matter and Panther party domestic terrorists which they are. Watched republican convention last night world wide telecast Donald Trump Jr. Talking and he mentioned the murders and shootings in Chicago! Let's pray that when Trump takes the office he lets police do the job, and conducts a forensic audit of city finances using his new professional doj department and marches elected straight to prison they can have cells by the clintons!

Wake up, please pack your lunch, read on another comment on this very blog where a copper had major surgery years ago after eating in a restaurant in the 010th district, almost died due to something piercing his insides, you never know who your dealing with maybe this is a blessing so you eat correctly! Majority of coppers have that pathetic attitude "If it is free or discounted it is for me" better off if not taking lunch make your own lunch from buffet bar, go to store many have pre-packed sections and if you say I could get sick here also I agree but it would not be intentionally aimed at you being the police get it! Even when you ant coffee go to gas station serve yourself unless you knwo the person personally at dunkin or starbucks and watch what they do you never know what group they may be involved with!

I had a tragic accident where my left foot, a shattered calcanus which required 8 screws and a plate to "repair", was repaired by Surgeons, but left me in chronic pain and crippled for life. You can't imagine, unless it happens to you, how devestating this type of injury is. It pervades, and destroys your whole life.

Surviving a spinal cord injury, from the neck down will leave one a quadrapelegic. It's horrible to imagine. Sure, you lived, but you will never truly enjoy life again. What's next? A colostomy bag and a catheter. 24 hour care because you can't take care of yourself. Stuck in a wheelchair. It's no way to experience life, no matter what ADA does for you.

It's beyond cruel and unusual punishment because it leaves you but a shell of your former self.

God, please help our police officers. No one seems to care that police are gunned down by these low life savages.
What has this world become? I don't know. I only know I worry for my son and all the police when they begin their tour. I pray that God will bring them safely home to their loved ones.
I cannot understand that there is not public outcry, this country has become a third world nation with a leader who has brought such racism and hatred in his tenure like none I witnessed before.
I am afraid Obama and his minions came with an agenda....and they have succeeded.

MILWAUKEE —A Milwaukee police officer who was shot multiple times over the weekend left the hospital Wednesday morning and headed home for the remainder of his recovery.

The visibly emotional officer, Brandon Baranowski, expressed gratitude to the community and to his law enforcement partners during brief remarks outside Froedtert Hospital.

"I have a long road of recovery ahead of me, and I look forward to rejoining my police family to serve and protect the citizens of Milwaukee. I can't thank you enough for everything," he said before collecting handshakes as he made his way to an awaiting SUV and police motorcade.

On Tuesday, Chief Ed Flynn paid a visit to Baranowski's hospital room and presented him with the Milwaukee Police Department's Purple Valor Award.

Baranowski, 31, was shot several times in the arms and chest at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday while department colleagues investigated a domestic disturbance call near South 17th Street and West Morgan Avenue.

The suspected shooter, Tomas A. Uriegas, was found dead shortly afterward in a nearby yard, police said. Uriegas was a convicted felon out on $500 bail on a felony battery charge.

Departments from throughout Milwaukee and Waukesha counties and even some federal agents were on hand when Baranowski was released.

They all said it was important to come together to support him and each other.

"We'd so much rather do this at a hospital than at a church. And we've seen too many hand salutes outside of churches recently. It's nice to see a hand salute followed by a round of applause for an officer who survived an assault, being rejoined with his family, Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn said.

"It's important to just show support for fellow officers that are out there putting themselves in harm's way so we're happy to be here to show support," Marquette University Police Department Chief Paul Mascari said.
