Understaffing = Escapes

The major media outlets are ignoring this since so many of their relatives work for Dart:
  • The prisoner who led authorities on a three-hour manhunt after fleeing the Rolling Meadows courthouse Wednesday is being held on $1 million bail after Cook County prosecutors Thursday filed a felony escape charge against him.

The Cook County sheriff's office said it is launching a thorough investigation into how Jonathan J. Scott was able to escape. As part of the inquiry, they say they will conduct a comprehensive review of staff and procedures.
Dart's people were quick to deny the obvious:
  • The escape was not the result of a shortage of guards at the courthouse, [sheriff's spokeswoman Kara] Smith said.

"There is no suggestion that this was related to staffing," she said.
Could Miss Smith explain why this is the fourth such escape at a Dart run facility just this year then? We were just wondering.

Dart and his organization are highly paid professionals.

They rank right up there with the TSA and the BATF.

Scott -- whose most recent address was in Oak Park, but who officials said is homeless -- had been in custody since last week on drug-related charges, obstructing justice and resisting arrest. He was in court Wednesday afternoon regarding an ongoing order of protection case.

According to court records, Scott has a long criminal past, including a conviction in 2011 for aggravated battery to a police officer, for which he served 90 days in jail; a criminal trespassing charge in 2014; and eight misdemeanors between 2014 and 2016, for which he served various amounts of jail time.

Maybe get rid of most, if not all of the 168 Directors and there would be money for proper staffing. I wanna gets me a Director job in charge of the front right tires of the Sheriff's fleet. They do seem to wear out fast and somebody's gotta be on top of it.

Clout heavy bureaucrats, overworked bailiffs, and bureaucratic disrespect for law and order.
Friggin tender puss assed judges rushing through cases so they can get to the golf course constantly pushing the help to get the defendants out and into the courtroom. It's like a beehive. Chop-chop boy, the delicate judge can't be waiting.

The problem with Dart is that he's a Yes man.
He's a failure.
The problem with Judges is that they're lackeys to the Democrats.
Chief Judge Evans is a hack.

Escapes can be avoided simply by taking the time to secure your detainee.
This is the same as your supervisor telling you to a prisoner transport/hospital guard by yourself to avoid RAP or downing another one man unit.

He was caught two blocks away from my cousin's house, in a garage and hiding in a car trunk until it got to hot and unbearable for him.

What's simply mind boggling is that he had gotten loose in the room after being initially handcuffed to a chair, was discovered by the deputies after they returned to the room and what do these morons do?

Handcuff him to the same chair, with the same handcuffs HE HAD JUST ESCAPED FROM and proceeded to leave the room again. The 2nd time he got loose he walked out the door of the room and into the main area of the courthouse and just walked out the entrance.

Idiots.

(OT) why would you allow this terrorist organization to have their black lies matter sign hanging over city hall in an area on public view?:

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/23/us/black-lives-matter-banner-on-city-hall-divides-a-boston-suburb.html?_r=0

If it was "white lives matter" would that be ok? "all lives matter nothing else will do!

Dart is No Sheriff. He is an executive administrator...of an empty jail.
Dart is NOT law enforcement.
He ever was Law Enforcement.
He was a political appointee.
He is a failed administrative aide.
He is a politician.

They should eliminate the title Sheriff of Cook County or reserve it for someone who actually works the streets in unincorporated areas of Cook County doing actual police work.

Of course, escapes and inmate woes could have been all eliminated if only
Frederich 'Boom-Boom, I need a nap' Collins (D-012) were elected.

Agreed. This isn't a staffing problem...it's a MORON problem! Sorry, SCC, no amount of bodies on the payroll is gonna fix just-too-fucking-stupid-to-be-a-lawman syndrome!

That's like comparing cherry tomatoes to grapefruits. Sheriff Clarke's agency in no way compares to the size and scope of responsibilities that the CCSD does here. Check it out for yourself.

Can't remember if it was Jesse James or
Billy The Kid who had the anatomical anomaly
of having wrists that were actually larger in
circumference than his hands...

We've encountered a few arrestees
that were like that...

Don't be LAZY when it comes to cuffing!
Handcuffs ARE ONLY temporary restraints
until "secure" custody is achieved.

If he slips or jumps the cuffs once,
he can do it again.

Zip-Tie his thumbs together or something
in addition to cuffs if he's a Houdini...

Dart wasn't much of a lawyer. And even worse as a state rep. So he was rewarded with the sheriff's Office where his gross icompetance is obvious.

I've heard that back in the good old days, if you couldn't make at least $1,000,000 during a single 4 year term as Sheriff, you were either too stupid or too lazy.

I find it interesting that Cook County Sheriff is the only office in which Richard J. Daley was defeated in an election. I guess the Daley's had bigger fish to fry.
