Cubs Detail

And the rumor mill begins:
  • OT, but from a reliable source at 35th Street. For any potential "clinch" game next week, 2nd watch is working 1200-2359, 1st watch is 0001-1159 and the entire 3rd watch will be deployed to 18, 19 and certain south and west side districts in anticipation of the rioting (celebration). Busing them around like the Bull's riots (celebrations).
These "reliable source[s]" turn out to be wrong far more often than they're correct. But the sheer incompetence demonstrated in this post makes us think it could be true.
  • Third watch would be the obvious choice for being on stand-by. We can see that.
  • But why would you have start times of noon and midnight? By the time the game ends, the 2nd watch is going to be ten hours into a twelve hour shift.
  • Not only that, you're well into that Contract section (23.6?) that states the City will pay officers when their start times deviate more than two hours from assigned time. We thought Rahm and Special Ed were trying to cut overtime.
But then we remember who we work for, and we read this in the comment section....:
  • But I have to throw this out there. At Wrigley I watched as Dep Chief Al worked like a maestro getting streets and sans to build all kinds of lanes, boxes, and aisles with barricades at Clark & Addison for the end of the Cub's game. He must have dug deep into his kindergarten drawing books for the plan. Five minutes after the game ended it all collapsed, nearly injuring a bunch of cops and trapping a dozen or more buses in the middle of the crowd for hours. Thanks Deputy, for reaffirming my belief once and for all that goofs run this dept. Planning for the World Series should be a real joke. I'm just thankful that no cops got hurt.
And we see this post in CrimeInWrigleyvilleAndBoystown blog:
  • Good news: The Cubs advance to the World Series and the Chicago Police Department says they only arrested six people. (We've tracked seven. Whatevs.)

Bad news: Many more arrests would have been made, but police were unable to transport detainees from within the massive crowd.
....and we realize that if there's a right way and a wrong way to accomplish a task, the Chicago Police Department will always create a third way that no one else would think of because it's too dangerous, too expensive and too dumb to consider, and then run with it, consequences be damned.

And congratulations to the Cubs. We're not writing about them for the same reason we've ignored the Blackhawks in the playoffs - they seem to do better when we aren't posting about them.

If you went to 12's - do 6 to 6 as is the case with most departments utilizing the 12 hour shift. Having mid nights get off at noon is not particularly an exercise in intelligence, but look at who we are talking about. See a lot of sleep deprivation happening with 12 to 12. I do have connections to expert witnesses involved with this if needed for future legal action.

Listened to the after game on CW6 and thankfully most blue shirts came out unscathed. The poster was kind in giving five minutes before all turned south.

025 3rd Watch

A female inspector (the same one that grabbed a female officer by her wrist) used harsh and foul language on two officers in 025. Well the two veteran officers (P.O. J.S. & P.O. K.W.) did not kiss her ass and they returned the favor in kind. Because they stood up for themselves, they were written up and then they were booted from their car which is the wagon. So I guess officers can now be kicked off their cars if they stand up for themselves.

Take a few minutes and educate yourself on Project Veritas. Watch a few videos. You should be outraged and this should be the number 1 story in the Media, but it is largely ignored.

This is the story of the national Democratic Machine inciting violence at Republican events with paid agitators. Read that again: the campaign to elect Hillary Clinton is on tape discussing how they incited violence at RNC events. How this isn't national news and why this isn't a criminal investigation by now defies any logical explanation. It is plain to anyone that even looks at a little of it that this is one thousand times worse than Watergate.

Where is the outrage? Where is the Media? The Fourth Estate is dead. People should be indicted and in jail by now.

Here is a good rumor.
the expemts were trying to figure out who can they can put in a Command position at Wrigley in the event the Cubs win the World Series at home. Since the Cubs have not won the world series since 1908 and no one on the department can predict the chaos to follow. So, they are were brain storming as to who they can task with keeping the crowds at Wrigley under control. After several hours they came up with a solution but would have to bring him out of retirement.

The legendary 1020/1070 Sgt Ramon!
Who else knows how to use a bullhorn and bark out orders to comply with him or be Contact Carded(oops I mean ISR'd). Only he has the experience to control such a situation with his Bullhorn.

Bring back 1020/1070!

Kinda figured this Cubs thing would be a cluster fuck. Think about it every other event has been done before, thus they just go off last years order with a few minor adjustments. The Cubs haven't had this happen in 71 or 108 years however you want to look at it. That makes these genius gold stars create an order from scratch. This among anything else should show everyone how clueless and incompetent our exempt staff really is.

Special salute to the moron who locked the exit gates at Clark and Addison after the game. The first tenet of crowd management is, "Don't block the exits." The words "stampede," "trample," and "crushed" should be enough explanation why you DON'T BLOCK THE EXITS. Should this action lead to the aforementioned disaster, someone is going to become familiar with the words "indictment," "conviction," and "imprisonment."

This just demonstrates the levels of incompetence and mismanagement that totally engulf the administration of this city. A sports event celebration should not precipitate an emergency plan that alters the whole foundation of normal operational functions. Implementing all the shift changes, overtime, and re-assignment of personnel would not be necessary if adequate manpower already existed and the exempts had bothered to plan ahead instead of the usual procrastinatory "wait and see" protocol that these brilliant leaders are notorious for. In any case, the whole public safety production is farce; they will stand down to all the criminal damage and batteries/assaults/thefts in progress while they look for instruction and guidance from the suits in the legal dept. and final blessing from a communications/dance major who despises police officers.

For the last time, Steve Georgas and former Corp counsel Mara Georges are not related, different spelling and He is now detailed to McPier where he is the police liason, working on police issues, I guess he got tired of getting kicked around, New Special Functions boss Eric Carter has no clue as to how to run an event, Wrigley field is a disaster waiting to happen.drunks will get trampled.

The Chicago Cubs withdrew their offer to sell face value World Series tickets to Chicago aldermen after a city ethics board ruled that the offer could violate a ban on elected city officials accepting gifts worth more than $50, the Chicago Tribune reports.

According to the report, three aldermen confirmed the deal had been withdrawn. Some of those aldermen are upset that the ethics board and its new chairman, William Conlon, are inflating what they say is a non-issue.

On Friday, the ethics panel determined that alderman and other city officials, including Mayor Rahm Emanuel, would have to perform a “ceremonial duty or action,” like throwing out the first pitch, to buy World Series tickets at face value. This is because those tickets are exponentially more expensive on the secondary market.

A memo from the board released Friday noted that there must be “a clear and direct connection between the official’s attendance and the performance of such ceremonial duty or action an
d the nature and location of the event itself.” For example, the memo cited Mayor Emanuel and Ald. Tom Tunney, whose 44th Ward includes Wrigley Field.

Say what you want about Georgas, but he got shit done without putting any coppers at risk. Ran NATO and we pulled it off without a single problem. He should have been promoted for that alone. Not to mention, Blackhawks parades, POTUS visits, protests and keeping all those misfits in Special Functions awake. Seven years or so of getting the job done and getting others to do theirs and everyone hates him. Sounds like an effective leader to me. Now Nogode, its the same old joke over and over, not even funny. No leaders left, how can any of this be organized to the point of coppers buying in with the current state of affairs. Protect youself and your family, let the chaos run wild. So sad, this was once a great City and a great job.

Georgas makes them all look like fools. That's why they want him out. Yet they probably ask him for all kinds of advice while they sit on their ass. I missed him too, at least he makes decisions.

What was that saying about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results? What do other places do?

I was in Washington, D.C. on the day of the first major Iraq war demonstration. D.C. cops treated it almost like tailgating -- coolers, beverages, food and taking a laid back approach instead of being confrontation. They arrived in the area on buses which, as they told me, double as storage for riot equipment and transportation in the event of mass arrests. They were ready to intervene if needed but otherwise kept a lower profile. D.C. isn't Podunk. And in Milwaukee BLM protesters didn't get too far when they tried to block the freeway. Sheriff Clarke wasn't going to mess around. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to look at what other cities do (and maybe that should have been done a long time ago).

Flip side: Maybe Podunk can have a good idea, too. Alaska State Troopers get the job done and often do it alone with the nearest backup hours (or more) away -- and they assume just about everyone is armed yet there are very few assaults on officers. How do they pull it off?

Oh, but Chiraq is its own little world. How's that been working lately?

Not to defend Nagode. There was another deputy chief of A3 who spent many years in neighborhood relations. In 020 and 024 and 017

Nagode. A no talent schmuck who was never the police. Give the guy a white shirt and all of a sudden he thinks he's qualified to do police work and to tell guys how to aggressively police. Al has no clue what it means to be the police. I'm pretty sure he's on the same page as sat teams when it comes to them knowing police work... it's not about one baggers, dopw and trespassing at the gas station. There is still a group of people on this job who know what real police work is... I know everyone in 011 thinks that means them but one baggers of heroin on a hype or a jab on a dope boy "found in the chip bag he was retrieving it from" is not police work either. Only a few in the department know, and AL does not know.

It's coming Thurs through the end of the World Series: 12 on, 12 off for 1st and 2nd watch with days off canceled. 3rd watch to go into platoons to send citywide. Tact, gang, sat to Wrigley. Word at 35th is also that Carter, not Nagode will be in charge. Everything should be finalized soon as Henny Penny was working deep into the night collating her notes.

tom Hayden, the preeminent 1960s radical who roused a generation of alienated young Americans, became a symbol of militancy by leading riotous protests at the 1968 Democratic National Convention, and added Hollywood glamour to his mystique with an activist partnership and marriage to film star Jane Fonda, died Oct. 23 in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 76

hey tom from all of us non-clouted vets a big f-ckyou and enjoy hell

025 3rd Watch

A female inspector (the same one that grabbed a female officer by her wrist) used harsh and foul language on two officers in 025. Well the two veteran officers (P.O. J.S. & P.O. K.W.) did not kiss her ass and they returned the favor in kind. Because they stood up for themselves, they were written up and then they were booted from their car which is the wagon. So I guess officers can now be kicked off their cars if they stand up for themselves.

10/24/2016 07:44:00 AM

You can't be insubordinate. You can, however bet a CR# on her. It won't go anywhere, but you cover yourself for any retaliation.

Oh,by the way,it's not YOUR car.

Yeah, the Bears will go to the Super Bowl.

Only if they buy their own tickets.

There is a video on Facebook where the Portland, Oregon police booted the BLM asses out of their village hall. I"m sure if you Googled it you'd be able to find it. The original clip was in the Oregonian. The cops manhandled the misfits and pepper sprayed the goofs who kept trying to hold the village hall door open.

This is the video from the Oregonian in Portland Oregon. Cops eject Black Lives Mater protestors from City Hall. The leadership of this left coast city must have got sick of these misfits and took the handcuffs off of their police. Best part of the video is around 3:08.

Someone should show this to Rahm.
