Plus 1,000

  • A thousand more people have been shot in Chicago this year compared with the same time last year after a weekend that saw eight people killed and at least 40 wounded, according to police and data compiled by the Tribune.

At least 3,475 people had been shot in the city as of shortly after midnight Monday compared with 2,441 people shot this time last year, an increase of 1,034, according to Tribune data. There have been at least 595 homicides this year compared with 409 this time last year, an increase of 186.

The gun violence over the weekend was at levels usually seen in the summer when shootings typically spike.
So...is Rahm putting Special Ed on the chopping block? He needs someone to blame for the increase in the increase.

But if he does that (which he won't), the next person will inherit a Department in shambles going nowhere fast.

And with the DOJ report due out early next year......

Great record to run on blaming others for your mistakes. But that is what Daley did and Rahm will do also. But hey, it was the low information voters of Chicago - rich, not so rich and poor - who put Rahm in office in the first place and who have kept him there; they have themselves to blame. Oh so sorry, it is the fault of the police for not sticking their necks out after being told that if they stick their necks out their heads will roll faster than a bowling ball on a newly oiled lane.

Wait til the new order on foot pursuits comes out. Only can chase if u see a gun. On view shots fired. And if its for dope. Once they pitch it. U can no longer chase. A sgt will monitor. So as u r trying to figure out what block and direction u r running, u will also need to apply the balancing test. Activate your camera. And use the mic to dispatch.

Remove the honorary street sign in front of the Trump Hotel. Chicago cannot allow anyone to make derogatory comments about violence occurring in our fair city.

Is it those rogue cops WVON listeners are convinced are doing most of the shootings?

""Because your police supt, is black he will not get the blame. i feel sure the blame will be shifted onto George Bush, that is who the demorats always blame.""

Well Ed is pretty innocuous. I mean damn when your a superintendent and you get punked by some little gangster with a big mouth right in front of your HQ I dont think your going to get blamed for shit. http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/protesters-prevent-chicago-police-department-superintendent-police-shooting-video-389318301.html

Even the little BLM shit birds wont really blame him. They will blame the poor little bastard in the BT. car but they wont blame him.

Regarding chases Im glad they finally made it an order cause Im getting tired of faking that Im running. Its not easy to fake running and Im tired of doing it. Luckily however its easier to fake even going to the job.

I cant believe these young guys and all the chasing still going on in these ghetto districts. Man you guys are nuts. Yeah I remember what it was like being young but there is nothing but trouble waiting at the end of that bullshit chase and its not worth your job. Why would you give a fuck about a dime bag of dope anyways?

I've sais it before. Every day that goes by and nothing happens with the cheating scandal is a growing indication that nothing will happen with the cheating scandal. Everything that needed to be "investigated" has. The players are all minorities, Rahm needs the black vote more then ever.

The stats show the final number should be about 762 dead for the year, But I think it might go higher.

Someone needs to inform the Trump Campaign, at his rallies DJT keeps referring to Chicago's shootings as only 3,000.
The truth has to be told.

Rahm's overstaffed and highly compensated Public Relations Dept. is crafting a press release to blame that Trump's mentioning of all the shootings is causing and inspiring more urban violence in the feral inner city thugs.

Oh, and oBama is an idiot.

Yup more shot and higher County Taxes to pay the treating, jailing etc, but Pinkwinkle doesn't admit the cost of all the mayhem is the reason for tax increases.

For some reason my partner and I actually felt compelled to do some sort of police work last night.

There was a M/1 and M/2 walking back and forth in an alley in a hurried manner. (as if they were about to commit a crime or had committed a crime). The M/1 split away from the M/2. But the M/1 drew our attention more because he was carrying a bag, continued looking around and was still walking quickly. While the M/2 walked slowly away as if not a care in the world.

We stopped the M/1, could see dope on his nose. Asked, "how many blows you got?"

He turned around and ran. We laughed. And waved.

Maybe a few years ago, or even months, it would have been a fun and easy chase. But not anymore. Thanks Obama!

Looks like the Tribune is swiping the numbers from heyjackass.com . . . I wonder if any of them would care to dig a little deeper? Like maybe posting some stats showing how a lot of weekends in 2016 have outpaced the COMBINED figures for 2014 and 2015? No? Then I will.

Noon Friday 8-Jan 'til 0600 Monday 11-Jan:
2016 weekend tally: 7 killed, 32 wounded
2015 weekend tally: 1 killed, 5 wounded
2014 weekend tally: 1 killed, 6 wounded

Noon Friday 29- Jan 'til 0600 Monday 1-Feb
2016 weekend tally: 9 killed, 25 wounded
2015 weekend tally: 4 killed, 7 wounded
2014 weekend tally: 2 killed, 10 wounded

How about the following weekend ending 8-Feb?
2016 weekend tally: 3 killed, 23 wounded
2015 weekend tally: 2 killed, 11 wounded
2014 weekend tally: 3 killed, 8 wounded

Another Valentine's Day Massacre?
2016 weekend tally: 7 killed, 14 wounded
2015 weekend tally: 2 killed, 7 wounded
2014 weekend tally: 2 killed, 2 wounded

Any relief yet? Nope. Weekend ending 22-Feb:
2016 weekend tally: 5 killed, 28 wounded
2015 weekend tally: 3 killed, 9 wounded
2014 weekend tally: 3 killed, 7 wounded

Leap Years should be prohibited in Chicago:
2016 weekend tally: 2 killed, 26 wounded
2015 weekend tally: 0 killed, 5 wounded
2014 weekend tally: 6 killed, 5 wounded

Hmmm . . . the weather proverb got THIS March
bass-acwards; in like a lamb and out like a lion! Easter weekend ending 28-Mar:
2016 weekend tally: 1 killed, 41 wounded
2015 weekend tally: 3 killed, 13 wounded
2014 weekend tally: 2 killed, 19 wounded

And so forth and so on and such like . . .
Mother's Day Weekend, Memorial Day Weekend,
Father's Day Weekend . . . Yes, we can!

All of this and finally before Trump takes office another aldergoof being federally probed:

Now FBI please look at the others like Jan Schakowsky and her criminal husband that caused the violence in Chicago by the possible postponed Trump rally RICO? If the FBI lead and Attorney Zach fardon make the moves on them bet Trump and his new DOJ will be impressed and assist you in the take down of the rest, and we CPD will gladly march them into the buss to your building! "Hi Ho Hi Ho its off to jail they go" Thank You in advance!

Somebody needs to start a marksmanship training program in the ghetto. Teach them how to shoot so at least the bangers get cleanly killed instead of costing society a fortune in patch up medical bills. Here in rural hunting country we'd be embarrassed to miss that badly and that often when aiming at game that big.

Just think how quickly crime would dry up if those 3500 or so shot had all died. It would be a self correcting problem in a handful of years.

It's rahm's policy of doing more with less. You have gangbangers killing gangbangers, thining the herds. So, all you need is a few Police to deal with the carnage and save some money. The gangs wouldn't vote for him anyway... what could possibly go wrong with such a well thought out fiscaly responsible plan? ;)
