The Entitled

Talk about people who have lost touch with what their part-time job is supposed to entail:
  • Aldermen on Wednesday continued to press for further explanation of an ethics rule that would curtail their ability to get their hands on sought-after sports tickets, calling on City Hall's watchdog to clarify when exactly standards that were established in response to a playoff ticket offer from the Cubs would apply.

City Inspector General Joseph Ferguson urged aldermen to consider the public perception of them accepting face value playoff tickets from the Cubs.

But Ferguson declined to lend his interpretation to a recent Board of Ethics ruling that said aldermen cannot take tickets offered by the Cubs to World Series games at Wrigley Field unless they perform a ceremonial duty at the game. The ruling says taking tickets could violate a ban on elected officials accepting gifts worth more than $50.
If they want to purchase season tickets that would give them first shot at playoff games, hooray for them.

If they want to enter the Ticketmaster lottery or however the Cubs sell single playoff game tickets, have at it.

But getting to the front of the line, no matter how shitty the ticket, that in and of itself is worth way more than $50, and therefore a violation of the City Ethics rules.
  • A number of Wrigleyville bars are looking to take advantage of the expected crowds by offering food and drink packages that run several hundred dollars each, as well as implementing cover charges that also run more than $100.

Casey Moran’s, across Clark Street from Wrigley Field, is charging $250 for an appetizer, dinner entree and drinks from 7 p.m. until 10:45 p.m., according to Kim Smith, the bar’s office manager.

The food and drink package, though, does not include a table to sit at. A four-person table runs an additional $500. A group of four who wanted to eat, drink and be guaranteed a place to sit would split the $1,500 bill four ways.

Those not interested in the food and drink packages still must pay $100 to get in the door, and that cover charge is expected to go up as the weekend nears, Smith said.
Hooray for capitalism and all that - if you can get a bunch of well-heeled drunks and bandwagon jumpers to shell out $100 to walk in the door and $500 to sit at a table, more power to you. But this phenomenon is worth way more than $50.

Perhaps it's time to roll out those petitions to reduce the number of aldercreatures to under 50 again. Under 25 in an ideal situation.

Fuck those aldermen. Here's a couple of quips from Millie Santiago....

"Ald. Milly Santiago, 31st, said the Cubs tickets offered to aldermen were bad seats and quality seats on the resale market are too costly. "I'm a poor alderman, I cannot even afford to buy a $1,000 ticket," said Santiago, whose annual salary is $116,208 according to city records. (Nancy Stone / Chicago Tribune) ..."

"..,"First of all, those tickets were not front row tickets, they were all the way in the upper deck, and if I went like this I would touch the ceiling. That's how bad those tickets were," she said. ..."

"..."So it's kind of embarrassing in my part. I don't know how the rest of my colleagues feel. I think this should be a matter of individual and personal choice, because those who are not Cubs fans should just say 'No, I'm not interested.' But those of us who would like to get a chance to go to one of those games and be part of history, we should have that choice."..."

First off, to paraphrase Weekend Update's Dan Ackroyd, "Millie, you ignorant slut"...". Your arrogance is only outdistanced by your ignorance. I want to go. I want to pay face value. I work for the City. I think my job (full time, at that) is a helluva lot more dangerous than yours ($116,000 PART TIME job). No one is making me any special offers. If you're such a fan, you should've had season tickets. You should've been camped out the other night when people were hoping to score those last-minute tickets. I didn't see you out there. A couple of seasons ago, the Cubs were depleting their waiting list names trying to fill their season ticket holder slots. How many games did you attend a few years ago when they lost 100+ games?! I'm going to say ZERO. I hope the three games at Wrigley are the most exciting, riveting, memorable games in the history of baseball, and your ass WON'T be there. It sucks to be you, you pig.

Using their most recent U.S. Census Bureau populations and the respective number of city council members and extrapolating these figures for each city for per capita representation in city councils..

CONCLUSION: The notoriously corrupt City of Chicago should have no more than SEVENTEEN (17) wards/aldercreatures.

These aldermen are unbelievable and sickening. Alderman Santiago bitching the loudest. It wants the rules changed to accommodate their freebies, Rules don't apply to politicians. Get rid of these classless useless waste of taxpayers money.

Here it is:
Milly Santiago, 31st, said the tickets the Cubs offered to aldermen for earlier playoff games weren't that great, and she doesn't have the money to pay the exorbitant mark-ups demanded by scalpers.

"First of all, those tickets were not front row tickets, they were all the way in the upper deck, and if I went like this I would touch the ceiling. That's how bad those tickets were," she said.

"So it's kind of embarrassing in my part. I don't know how the rest of my colleagues feel. Political committees led by Illinois politicians have spent more than $1 million on Chicago Cubs tickets in the last five years, CBS 2 Investigators have found.

Some of the biggest spenders include the committees of Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan, Senate President John Cullerton, Chicago Ald. Patrick O’Connor, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and Cicero Town President Larry Dominick.

“When voters contribute their hard earned dollars to a candidate’s campaign they do expect it to be for the promotion of their candidate,” says Sarah Brune, executive director of Chicago-based nonprofit Illinois Campaign for Political Reform. “They don’t expect it to be used on entertainment.”
In the past five years, Cullerton’s committee has spent more than $200,000 on Cubs tickets, trailing only Madigan’s committee, which doled out more than $500,000, according to Illinois State Board of Elections records .Madigan’s committee also spent more than $250,000 on White Sox tickets and $200,000 on Bulls tickets since 2011,CBS 2 asked Steve Brown, a Madigan spokesperson, what was the political purpose of the tickets, and who did the tickets go to?
“I don’t go into that,” he says.

What a bunch of punks, making $116,000 a year plus 1.5 million each to spend however they please compliments of taxpayers. The goofs retire full pension and free health care as our police retirees are being thrown off the medical care completely!

Let me get my thoughts around this, they are demanding this, but the minds of some like brendan o'reilly was removing trumps street sign because Trump tells the truth about Chicago thug crimes? But yet he and many freely took thousands in campaign contributions from Trump and refused to give Trump his money back! Such a bunch of hypocrites typical democrats like michelle obama bashing trump for the lying woman's bullshit while she enjoys this and has her girls subject to this:

http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/10/michelle_obamas_promotion_of_misogyny_and_date_rape.html

Excerpts:

"U.O.N.E.O." glorifies date rape with the lyrics, "Put molly all in her champagne/ She ain't even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed that/ She ain't even know it." While Ross denies that this was his intended meaning, "molly" is slang for Ecstasy, a well-known date rape drug, and the context of "molly" in his lyrics shows clearly that a man put it into a woman's drink without her knowledge or consent so he could have sex with her. Ross' "Same Hoes" is meanwhile not about agricultural implements as shown by its lyrics, which consist primarily of the F word, a variant of the N word, and "hoes."
Common, whose "Go!" includes, "And a ooh baby she liked it raw and like rain when she came it poured" along with a variant of the N word and even more sexually explicit lyrics.
Jay Z, who proclaims, "I've got 99 problems and a b***h ain't one."
Michelle Obama called out Trump's remarks with the words, "What message are our little girls hearing about who they should look like, how they should act?" Nicki Minaj, another rapper whom she and her husband brought to the White House, answers that question in "Hey Mama," "Make sure mama crawls on her knees keep him pleased rub him down be a lady and a freak" and also "Yes I do the cooking/ Yes I do the cleaning/ Yes I keep the nana real sweet for your eating/ Yes you be the (boss) yes I be respecting." It doesn't take a feminist to dismiss these words as belonging in a fundamentalist "Islamic" country, assuming that they ever belonged anywhere at all.
Lifezette.com adds, "And of course, who could forget about the Obamas' cozy relationship with Jay Z and Beyoncé, who have been guests of the president and first lady on multiple occasions?" Jay Z joined Beyoncé in "Drunk in Love". The lyrics include, "Slid the panties right to the side/ Ain`t got the time to take drawers off" and "We sex again in the morning, your breasteses [sic] is my breakfast."
Beyoncé's "Partition" includes far cruder and more explicit language, whose sole redeeming virtue is to remind everybody that Hillary's husband actually did what Donald Trump talked about. "He popped all my buttons and he ripped my blouse/
He monica-lewinski'd all on my gown," to which she adds, "Hand prints and good grips all on my ass." Beyoncé is certainly No Angel as shown by this line: "First, both of my legs go back on your head/ And whatever you want, yeah baby I'll bet it comes true."

It will never fly. There have been attempts before to change the police district boundaries but they were scuttled after a lot of in-fighting among the alderman and congressman. Any attempt at lowering the number of alderman would unleash a huge fight on racial grounds, power and influence grounds and a few others. The state would have to get involved and I don't see that happening as long as Madigan is in charge.

I have been out of the police game for a few years, but as I recall, a bar cannot charge a cover unless they have a Public Place of Amusement license from the city and they cannot get one of those unless they have sufficient off street parking. And, if it is an entertainment menu they have to sell printed and serialized tickets so the city gets it cut for taxes. Have things changed? I would be willing to bet NO

The everyday ethical lapses of the 50 thieving alderman are small peanuts. Consider a $475,000.00 donation for a Virginia Senate seat from the Clinton foundation to candidate Jill McCabe. Dr. Jill McCabe just so happens to be the wife of Andrew McCabe who is overseeing the criminal investigation of presidential candidate Clinton’s e-mail scandal.

All this was orchestrated through Clinton confident Terry McAuliffe. No ethical questions raised here since the soon to be purchased influence with foundation P.A.C. contributions were made in 2015. In 2015, the Clinton’s criminal use of e-mails was well underway and had not yet been discovered. Terry McAuliffe by the way restored voting rights of violent felons to assist in democrat election efforts while seated as Governor of West Virginia.

The Clinton Foundation believes this is the best government money can buy and control on all levels. Corruption is business as usual for the Clintons, and the brand of democrat politics they and their close associates represent. And the officer who gets a complimentary cup of coffee is guilty of egregious ethics violations, so we are told.

Chicago’s little guy democrats don’t hold a candle to the corrupt national organization of the candidate seeking the nation’s highest office. Her corrupt electioneering apparatus made future investments in influence in the nation’s premier law enforcement agency with impunity. Even premier national law enforcement agencies appear to be bought and paid for without an appearance of ethical or criminal wrongdoing. Once again, the cartel of 50 thieves are rank amateurs compared to national party officials.

The one alderman that said 'I'm a poor alderman,' really set me off. These scum have no idea what it's like to word a hard day with their hands or struggle to pay a bill. You hit the nail on the head. They really have lost touch with reality.

It's bar food, for f*ck's sake...and most of it isn't fit for a dog!! Invite your friends over and make it potluck. Or assign everyone something to bring and you supply the booze. You'll be warm, have a seat and not have to stand in line for the bathroom!

Just read the article what a pathetic disgraceful act! Another waste of taxpayers money eliminate them all save hundreds of millions! On another note Trump truthfully talks about "rigged" elections. The lying democrats especially Hillary are appalled. Well just went to early vote at clearing library told "no identification is required" which means as long as I know someone's name address and birthday I can vote for them. Fuck it I have to show drivers license for identification using a check, have to show my passport to come back into my own country, while the illegal invaders freely come in getting free medical care, housing, food, schools etc. while retired coppers who served this city protecting millions have health care taken away. Voted Trump everyone I talk to is for Trump unless the democratic thieves completely steal this election Trump wins big time landslide!

Even Bruce Springsteen changed and now is for Trump, many Jews are voting Trump hey you Rahm get on the Trump train or be under it all aboard!

Our universal ever increasing tax body d.b.a. Aldermen should be mentored by none other than Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr. As immortalized in a book which exposes his ability to impugn, intimidate, then extort and ultimately collect millions from corporations all without criminal investigations.

The aldermen should threaten raise democrat hot button issues and raise similar contemporary progressive sins against the corporate Cubs organization. Utilizing the Jackson model of shakedown , it would be a prudent business decision for the Cubs to provide aldermen complimentary heated box seats, Cubs logoed gear, unlimited free food, free unlimited alcoholic beverages for the aldermen and their guests, authentic autographed world series baseball souvenirs and reserved heated parking for the public servants for their high end foreign cars.. If the aldermen want to do it right, use the J.J. Jr. methodology which gets results and big payouts. The aldermen are obviously wet behind the ears just getting broken in when it comes to public official gifting through their threats of legislative, favorable tax relief and regulatory powers.

The aldermen have the ability to tax and regulate any business to their knees. What kind of aldermen have the unwashed masses elected when they can't turn the screws on the Cubs for off the books world series tickets. We need to elect a better gaggle of thieves. Maybe not since the amount and percentage of my income collected by the city is beyond confiscatory and is criminal in nature.

You're surprised that black aldermen want special treatment to get the hottest ticket in town? You must be new here. Freebies and special consideration are what aldermen are all about.

Only the state legislature can reduce the aldermen. A few years ago on Facebook a very decent alderman admitted that Sandi Jackson was attending meetings with her luggage and not residing in Chicago. I then contacted the office and was told it was none of my business. Cochran is a former cop, now he my end up n jail. So who do we choose?

I know I am blessed to be retired and my heart goes out to those that have to endure the current state of the CPD. However, I got to tell you that that picture of that self centered, entitled bitch alderman just drives me crazy, For the past 4 months I have been scrambling to find health insurance as we wonder what the city would do regarding city retiree health insurance. For the past three year every fall we have been on pins and needles all awaiting to see what alibaba and the 50 thieves would do. SO they made a decision, broke their commitment and dropped our insurance. TO see that whore yell about her deserving face value tickets is beyond belief.

Funny how they are acting like spoiled children on television. It is high time someone saw how they really act. This is how they talk down on you and about you. This is what patrol commanders must deal with on a daily basis. Also, I would like to see how they would fair with the new gratuities policy and CPD like rules on gifts?

Remember Van Merritt, with the windmill on the label?

The one I really miss is Ballantine Ale, the real thing from the now-vanished original brewery in Newark. Boy, was that good. They had 250 of their own trucks, and moved it at least as far west as here in Chicago.

It's an obvious spoof, but whoever wrote it did it pretty well.
