No Tickets? No Problem

  • The Cubs have withdrawn their offer of face-value World Series tickets to Chicago aldermen after a city ethics board determined that taking the team up on the offer could violate a ban on elected officials accepting gifts worth more than $50.

Three aldermen on Monday confirmed that the team had withdrawn the offer after the Board of Ethics on Friday sent out new guidance to aldermen, Mayor Rahm Emanuel and other city officials on the issue. Some aldermen were upset, contending that the ethics board and its new chairman, William Conlon, were making much ado about nothing.

"This whole thing is a circus," said Ald. Ameya Pawar, 47th, whose North Side ward includes part of Wrigleyville, the area that's home to the team's iconic ballpark. "Rather than celebrate the Cubs, the Cubs now are going to have to comment on something when we as a city should be celebrating going to a World Series.
Remember, that's an alder-asshole who decided he was going to threaten the LOCAL Lodge for an endorsement that a NATIONAL Lodge made. Never let actual ethics get in the way of a corrupt deal.

But not to worry!
  • The City Council chambers will be emptier today, during the important budget hearings because a large number of aldermen, who cannot get tickets to the games in Wrigley Field, have gotten a bus and are going to Cleveland to watch the game, after getting tickets on Stub Hub scalping site.
Thank goodness the Budget Hearings can take care of themselves.

"...a large number of aldermen, who cannot get tickets to the games in Wrigley Field, have gotten a bus and are going to Cleveland to watch the game..."

This somehow reminds me of a passage from Solzhenitsyn's The Gulag Archipelago. After brutally suppressing a labor camp revolt (Kengir?) by driving tanks over everyone and shooting cannon shells in one door of the long barracks and out the other, the majors and generals sat down to a table of refreshments prepared by the surviving prisoners and slugged vodka and "unselfconsciously crunched cucumbers grown in the camp gardens." No amount of bloodshed would "disturb the alcoholic hum in their shaven heads."

The aldermen had to get something for themselves out of the situation. A scenic tour of the Grand Canyon, a novelty T-shirt, anything.

They're just that way.

Cleveland is a depressing city, the only good things there are the Rock Hall of Fame and the Football Hall of Fame. These high rollers will find out soon that there isn't much nightlife there, it's pretty dead after the sun goes down. Most of the city looks like a Superfund clean up site.

Hilarious that they got their tickets yanked. HA!

What about the Mayors family? I hear Rahm's brats were at the game. Does the family have season tickets?

A comparative study with similar municipalities puts the magic number at 17. So if you are going to dream, dream big.

Let's look at that number again, 17! That means we are funding n33 of these blood sucking parasites for nothing. How much are we losing a year, 100 million, 500 million?

Maybe since trump is rising in the polls they could worry less about tickets and more about a complete forensic audit of the city offices and of course their entire campaign accounts: Hey o'reilly your worried about removing Trumps sign because your in favor of allowing illegal invaders to suck up more taxpayers cash, but yet you alderman and the mayor refuse to return the campaign contributions you surely forced Trumps people to pay! Was that ransom for his multi-million hotel he built on that blighted site? Quick look over here "law and order we love the police" trump is now running the "Trump train" faster and look at all the smart people climbing aboard the people tired of all the high crime and the murders in your city alderman that you do nothing about:

TRUMP POPS FLORIDA
UP 4 IN OH
PULLS TO 3 IN PA

http://drudgereport.com/

Now alderman get on train because if your in front trying to block the path you will be another chiraq causality!

From the Tribune article: ..........
"This whole thing is a circus," said Ald. Ameya Pawar, 47th.... "Rather than celebrate the Cubs, the Cubs now are going to have to comment on something when we as a city should be celebrating going to a World Series." ~~~paragraph~~~ "Taking attention away from the Cubs and what they have achieved is bizarre," Pawar added. "I just think from the Cubs' perspective it just doesn't make sense to try to figure out how to navigate that opinion. They are trying to plan for a World Series."

What...The...F--k...is he saying? Is he on drugs or mentally handicapped? That's all gibberish, a bunch of random thoughts strung together in sentences like these beauties: ........
--- "Rather than celebrate the Cubs, the Cubs now are going to have to comment on something..."
--- "what they have achieved is bizarre"
Not one thing he says makes any goddamn sense and none of it has anything to do with the Cubs not giving the Alder-Creatures **Free** World Series Tickets. That like regular folk (or people), these free-loading ass-wipes will have to buy Tickets for themselves.

Now I didn't follow the news about the Cubs' battle(s) with Rahm and City Hall over all the renovations to Wrigley Field. But I do seem to recall they weren't exactly all hugs & kisses, with 'some' Alder-Creatures being downright assholes.

But now they expected **free** World Series Tickets??? Only in Chicago folks, only in Chicago could that happen.

--> ps: Dear Alder-creature Pawar, I'll tell you what's "bizarre" -- the fact that you're able to get dressed in the morning by yourself. It sounds like you need a fuckin' keeper!! <--

First of all the Cubs don't have to say anything. They made a good faith pay to play offer and their media person will avoid making any statements at all cost. Secondly, alderman have a part time position (average 17 City Council Meetings per year) and they blow off a city council meeting to go to a sporting event. This just goes to show that we don't need 50 Alderman. Not only do they have have half the workload but represent half the citizens that their counterparts in New York do. I'm so sick of Chicago politics, waste, abuse and nepotism. This is just another example of the aforementioned.Sounds obama-like when he hosted world series champs instead of paying his respects to the police officers killed in the line of duty throughout the entire United States, their families and co-workers who attended the one day tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Rahm will still have a quorum and it will be easier to get whatever he wants passed as these alderman will not be there to represent the people who elected them to be there and represent their needs and desires. I say we need to turn this city upside down next election, get rid of all the democrats and set term limits.

I heard tickets were going for thousands of dollars. I hope they had to pay full price...And they are taking time off from work while the department is getting days off cancelled. I wonder if they can take a day off from running their mouth and putting their two cents in when a CPD hot topic arises in the media.

I doubt it...

btw...The Cubs actually have to win this thing! It's not like a merit promotion where you get what you don't deserve...
