Happy Anniversary
- It was on this date four years ago that we launched an idea based on the “Chicago values” we were told so much about during that violent, Chick-fil-A chicken sammich-infused summer of 2012. Since we were never told exactly what those values were, we assumed that it must be murder, crime and mayhem.
Since then we’ve recorded over 2,200 homicides, nearly 11,000 shot and wounded, dozens and dozens of “death investigations” along with hundreds of people who caught one in the ass.
As always, thanks to everyone who has visited, emailed, followed, linked, liked and donated helping make this idea a very minor success.
Here’s to four more years.

President Trump had 2 interviews this week latest Watson Hannity on Fox world news and again Trump talked about Chicago shootings and it continues here unstoppable apparently completely failed leadership keeping them out of jail inducing more bloodshed guess that "strategy" is not working to well!

SCC - Thanks for the post and all the support for the past four years. SCC is, and has always been, one of the largest drivers of traffic for us. Only the Google and Facebook (just barely) pushes more traffic our way. Plus this "insignificant" blog does 5x better than Twatter. Amazing.

Happy Anniversary. As a former Homicide Detective I always check the "COUNT". I introduced your site to most all of my non-police friends. They are all 'AMAZED". Keep up the great work.
Chicago Values means taking away health insurance from non medicare eligible senior citizens who served this City faithfully for 30 and 40 years. Chicago Values means stickin it in a cops ear. Chicago Values means pandering to anarchists and common criminals. Chicago Values means harboring illegal aliens. Chicago Values means shortening yellow lights and installing a red light camera. Come to think of it Chicago Values pretty much suck. A north suburban tough guy conned a hell of a lot of people inyo thinking that Chicago Values were virtuous. I think they are the opposite.

that is why the democrats who obviously adore bloodshed in Chicago are dragging their asses not confirming AG Jeff Sessions, i wrote to Dick Durbin,and tammy duckworth requesting immediate confirmation. The disrespect the democrats here like Lipinski Gutierrez did to the President by not doing what they are paid to do and attend the inauguration don't think for a second that President Trump did not notice the obvious snub. Illinois crook County and Chiraq are broke we are set to lose over a Billion dollars total due to these clowns protecting the illegal invading criminals and to boot using our tax rebate money.
On another note today is 28Jan17 just got property tax skyrocketing bill early, due 01Mar17 keep giving our money to the illegal invaders and thugs as they run rampant causing murder and mayhem everywhere. You took away police retiree health insurance rahm then were congratulated in an email by another of your rich friends. Rahm grew up extremely rich,and has no heart for the people all about staying in power and having armed valets drive his and his family around in big gas hogging Suburbans costing the taxpayers untold millions. Wait a minute the aldermen Lopez says he does not want tanks on archer av, Ok how about using these big black Suburbans to roll through stoplights (yes they do) like storm troopers and let them control your arae!

Rahm's meaning; religious liberty doesn't apply to white Christtain folks, same as the obama ideology.
Rahm is a pinhead cluck who made very bad decisions about every battle he thought he could win.
He won't win the ongoing violent crime wars in the community with his softie sanctuary city and hands off approach, that's for sure.

HJ does keep a running tab, under the title "The Cost of Stupidity", which is usually updated once a month. Thanks to the magic of Excel, we can play along at home, since it really is a numbers game . . .
Last year, there were 798 homicides. The cost for a homicide related autopsy is $800. That comes to $638,400.
There were 3,663 people (or folks) shot and wounded. The cost for a ride in a CFD ambulance is $1000, but only 80% of the victims take that ride; the balance self-transport or are dropped off by family or other gang members - but I repeat myself. So use $800 per head to figure cost of transport. 3663 x $800 = $2,930,400. We're looking at about $3.6 Million so far.
NOW comes the expensive part. On average, a gunshot wound racks up $50,000 in the ER. Every 100 wounded costs $5 MILLION. 3663 x 50,000 comes out to . . . $183,150,000. Since most of the downtrodden, aspiring rocket surgeons don't have insurance, hospitals just gouge everyone else a little deeper. THAT'S why when YOU take
a trip to the ER, YOU (or your insurer) gets charged $79 for a Tylenol PM.
All these numbers don't include little details such as physical therapy/rehab, or any long term care. This doesn't factor in costs for devices or appliances that might be needed during recovery or on a permanent basis. These numbers don't account for any secondary procedures that might be needed due to complications, such as infection. The honest-to-God actual cost is probably 2.5 to 4 times as much, if only all of the data was available. Because of patient privacy laws, there really isn't a way to track expenses on a patient by patient basis.
