It Must be Warming Up
- Thieves made off with several items during a smash-and-grab burglary early Monday at the Louis Vuitton store on the Magnificent Mile.
Just after midnight, a dark-colored car struck a vehicle driving north in the 900 block of North Michigan Avenue before repeatedly smashing into the revolving doors of the upscale retail store, according to Chicago Police.
Five males then got out of the vehicle, broke into the store and took several items of merchandise, before jumping into a dark-colored SUV, which sped away, police said.
No descriptions, probably because there are no working cameras on a high-traffic, high-tourist, high-end street like North Michigan Avenue.

Have to start Christmas shopping early in order to beat the rush.
The get away car was found in Englewood....Imagine that.
They are usually all gone by 10 if not earlier and most of the time they are just shopping or eating. Completely worthless! While the entire 30 sector is down on bull shit retail thefts because security wants to play the police.

Maybe letting more 60 year old coppers work the Michigan Ave detail and watch them all eat and watch sporting events at some of the local hotels might help keep the city and its vendors safe??? What a shame! Yet please don't hesitate to approach these same vendors and hit them up for donations when the same idiots who do nothing for this city or department get jammed up for NOT doing their jobs! Tax payers deserve so much more from you special employment and VRI guys. If you expect us to continue to pay taxes and bail out your pensions, at least give us the appearance that your trying to do something for us.

Come on people! If you have lived in this cesspool of a city for more than a week then you would know that the CTA surveillance cameras were installed by VANECKO Inc. These are special cameras which use VANECKO'S special race recognition software. All the user needs to do to program the system is to choose which race it does not want the cameras to record and presto! On playback you will have gaps in the recordings that would make Richard Nixon proud!

Just get a bunch of wilders and walk in the front door of these gold coast stores on Michigan ave and do their shoplifting IF the little darling get caught its only misdemeanor theft instead of driving a stolen vehicle into the store and committing a burglary.

The real crime is what it costs to buy LV products. This past Christmas I spent $2300 on purse and another $800 on a matching wallet for the Wife. The original Michigan Avenue Detail was formed in the late 70's in response to the same sort of "Smash and Grabs". The Michigan Avenue merchants wanted to put bars on their windows. Mayor Byrne did not like that solution and provided the detail instead.
Saw 15 police cars at the old Maxwell St. station today. 10 squads, 5 unmarked. All props for filming of Chicago P.D. 15 cars downed for props!!??
