Once Again, It's Over

Observed with a gun.

Video existing of him tossing the gun, then going back to get it.

Nothing the officers did or said cast any doubt on these two facts.

And yet, $350,000 for managing to become worm food:
  • A Cook County jury awarded $350,000 in damages Tuesday in a wrongful death lawsuit brought by the mother of a black teen fatally shot by a Chicago police officer during a chase on the Fourth of July nearly four years ago.

In ruling the shooting of Christian Green unjustified, jurors found that Officer Robert Gonzalez did not "reasonably believe" that his life was in danger when he unloaded 11 shots at the 17-year-old from his police SUV, striking him once in the left side of his back.
So a jury of semi-intelligent human beings can somehow tell you exactly when your life is in danger without having a single shred of physical proof, video evidence or life experience? A shooting found to be completely justified and one that actually dragged Special Ed out of his hidey-hole to define and support the time-tested Use of Force model.

Stop chasing rabbits boys and girls. It won't end well.

Every single one of those asshole jurors should of had a loaded weapon pointed at them and then told to continue chasing the asshole on foot while you're trying to catch your breath and at some point during the foot chase make the assumption the asshole probably doesn't have the gun anymore and stop chasing, sounds very reasonable.

Well at least the cop did not get charged with a crime, the money will end up with the greedy lawyers. I find these type of trials curious. I mean, these kids are deadly bangers, walking around with loaded weapons, if he were to jam his weapon in a civilian's face they would run and call for guess who, the cops. Ugh.

I was in Markham last week for a case we brought and while on the second floor I was headed to the can. I noticed the jury room a little further down the hall. They are all sitting in this room looking out at the hallway and I have to tell you my first reaction was I thought it was a special ed class in high school. They would not be a jury of my peers but I seldom see Cook County juries today doing what me or my peers would do. Like $350k in this case.

When reality hits and they are sitting in Federal court listing all their assets for the scum bags lawyer will they finally get it??? Sad to say some never will and they deserve whatever they get. The bottom line is they had video the guy had the gun when running from the police and threatened death or great bodily harm to the officer.
The rightfully fired shots to eliminate the threat.
Because a lone shot hit him in the left side of his 'back' they considered that friggin' excessive and unjustified?

This city is a lost cause caused by politicians that find it more important to pander to a certain group than to hold that same group accountable for their actions. If you haven't gotten the memo on doing the bare minimum let this incident be another reminder.

That is a key downfall of the American "justice" system as it exists today: we are too polarized politically to be able to judge impartially. Instead, judgements reflect political animosity instead of actual justice. There is no longer an interest, especially from leftist "progressives," of maintaining any pretense at impartiality to maintain social order for the greater good of all. They view the courtroom as a way to inflict punitive damages on ideologies that they dislike instead of a venue for upholding law as it stands ( instead of as they prefer to interpret it).

I'll freely admit, from my position as a middle class person who worked hard to get where I am, I'd be equally tempted to inflict maximum pain on anyone of the hoodrat or special snowflake leftist persuasion if their actions landed them in court. I loathe them, and I wouldn't be able to hide that or not have it bias my thinking.

To me, the middle class and "traditional" America is at war with NIMBY leftists and ghetto losers. It is coming down to destroy or be destroyed, and if bankrupting them/mothballing them in jail would help to defang them them, I'd be happy to help out. I no longer feel that they are Americans, or that we even live in the same society. We certainly don't share any shred of common ground in our vision for how we should live or what our future should look like. I know full well that they would destroy me and mine given the chance, so I'd be an idiot to not respond in kind.

I just don't think you see much of this from the conservative camp directed at progressives yet because progressives don't tend to venture much into conservative territory. Mostly so far it is one sided: decent conservatives (like cops and Christian bakery owners) living in progressive jurisdictions and getting nailed to the wall by vengeful leftists.

Once a nation reaches this point (where both sides hate each other passionately and feel that the other ideology reflects a direct threat to their survival), it ain't long until it gets bloody.

As Trump would tweet: Sad.

...Open and unsecured with busted up furniture throughout.

Squatters.

Then the pipes and fixtures disappear.

Six feet of water in the basement.
A bow in the wall from where the foundation
hollowed out and the footing caved in.

Somehow the heat is still on and big,
dumb-assed flies are buzzing around
in midwinter.
Non-working toilet full to the rim with
congealed, fermenting shit and it's oozing
from the crack in the bowl.

"Why are you Cops always so pissed off?"

You know after reading this and hearing from others, if they were in a shooting incident to just walk, I now think that might be a better option. Just look at the Homicide Clear-up rate for 2017, it's 10.3%!!! That means if you have to kill one of these freed parolees that Dart released from jail, you have an also 90% change of not being identified if you get into the wind. It almost makes more sense to leave a shooting scene then to stick around and go thought all trouble of a wrongful dead suit. I know there are negatives to this idea, but you have to weigh your options when and if you are involved in a shooting these days.
