Cancer - Coming to You

This is what's on the camera boxes already delivered to Districts and on the way to other Districts:

Don't worry though - we're sure you have to eat a lot of cameras before the cancer actually sets in.

That warning label reminds me of the old hand held radar guns and the controversy that officers were contracting testicular cancer from keeping the unit between their legs when not in use. Was that theory ever substantiated? Any input from officers/troopers in agencies who were issued those units?

Hey... When was the last time those high tech x-ray

Some strange coinky-dink that the Officers who

Those machines are still there because they're

Policemen seem to be considered expendable.

This should be enough for me to refuse too wear the camera because of health issues. Let the bosses do what want to me, I'll take them to court. I'm waiting for someone on this department to try to make me wear something that can harm me, I'll fight this all the way. Just a note, someone from the bomb squad told me, years ago, Comm. Kennedy tried to make them wear a utility suit that was not 100% cotton. The utility suit not being made of 100% cotton would cause static electricity, which could cause a device to detonate. A bomb tech brought this up and he was ignored. He then called the bomb school, the FBI bomb tech section, and threatened legal action. This was a work related safety issue, and the utility suit was removed from the bomb squads inventory. The camera's and the cancer warning is a work place related safety issue and I'm refusing to wear something that could harm me. I'm really surprised the female officers are not screaming about this and the possibility of breast cancer. I'm meeting with an attorney next week to see what my rights and options are with refusing to wear a camera that can give you cancer. Hey, SCC you can save the label for future suits, I'm going to use the label now while I'm healthy; that save the label is really bad advise.

California tends to set their safe harbor limits for chemicals 1,000 times lower than Federal agencies like the EPA.

EPA generally sets limits based on observable effects. California for some reason worries about effects that aren't detectable and sets their limits very low, thus warnings on everything. There's even a group trying to get warning labels added to chocolate bars because they contain trace amounts of lead.

TALE OF THREE COPPERS
Twenty years ago Terry Hillard made a video about how a colonoscopy detected early colon cancer and saved his life. He still is running around collecting those pension checks.

Two years ago I fainted and the doctor ordered blood tests. I was anemic. I had no other symptoms. I had a colonoscopy and a small cancerous tumor was found. I had it surgically removed and needed no other cancer therapy.

I just found out that a friend has been diagnosed with colon cancer. Unfortunately his tumor is large. They are trying to shrink it with radiation and chemo before doing surgery to remove it. Hopefully he will recover fully.

My message is that colon cancer is highly treatable, especially if caught early. If you are over 50 get a colonoscopy. If you haven't had one for awhile talk to your doctor about when you will need another. My tumor was found four years after a clear colonoscopy.

The same warning is on your Christmas lights. You've probably seen it a million times and currently own/wear something that came with the same warning. Electronics like the cameras may contain lead or be exposed to lead in the manufacturing process.

The label is required by California Proposition 65 "The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986". It requires substances known by the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm carry a warning label.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Proposition_65_list_of_chemicals

Cancer sucks and I don't wish it on my worst enemy but we expose ourselves to tons of carcinogens by walking outside, driving a car, shooting lead bullets....

The cancer cluster has been alive and still taking people out to this day. Homan square - The drywall just covers every banned building material for the last 50 years. Gases from old sewers. Poor guys that got the killer cancer where mostly people that spent the entire day in building. Windows that do not open of have none. E@RP, B/A. 011/A 4- Basement and locker rooms. Cops beefed and FOP showed up and did a song and dance as usual. Ask the boiler engineer to let you look into the furnace. Every virus and toxic chemical is seen is Delete repeated word. You will want to puke seeing this. Has never been cleaned since city took over and spent 10 mil on just doing the cosmetics of the building.

The new building are the same clusters. 001 was built on land that had a old bone yard from the turn of the 19 century. Walls are cracking and these chemicals are in the filtration system and air. Deadly Chemicals in soil go to bed rock. Those people that bought town home on that land at 18th. and State have no idea what is under their foundation.

The training Division is also tops in toxic air. The building was built on a old former insulation building company from 1940.' Heating and A/C has not been cleaned since 1985.

A nerdy microbiologist would have a field day getting samples from these buildings. Virus's that are not even been named are in these buildings.

City could care less and FOP and EPA will not get involved.

Get fresh air when you can working In these buildings that is like working in a nuclear plant with a few cracks.

Silent killers lurk in city buildings of old and new. No one gives a shit about your health and welfare. Sad shit.

Old retired guy who really feels for all you great hero' and all you endure in the late/great CPD. You more then

Couldn't agree more. Daughter lived in San Diego and we went to a fine restaurant there that had a sign posted stating that the restaurant and the food might contain cancer causing chemicals. For real, California is the land of fruits and nuts and they over regulate everything. This appears to be no more that the pharmaceutical companies putting warning on all the drugs. If you ever read them you would never take one. The all say cause bleeding, strokes etc and in rare cases death
I don't understand the camera thing. For decades video recorders and cameras have been made and almost every cell phones has a camera and now suddenly the cameras made for the COD are cancer causing. Why not just buy one of the other 1000 cameras that aren't cancer causing. Or is the CPD plotting a conspiracy Way to many causes to take up and things to worry about, this isn't one of them

What they said about California is the truth. As far as the cameras don't you think that the EPA or the FDA would be all over this company if it were true. @02:25. Much wisdom, I agree 100%. I know of one officer who worked at 35th St. HQ Security, mostly monitoring the huge X-ray machine, Stage 4 cervical cancer. Fact. No radiation detection badges for anyone, No body protection. Young officers in childbearing years. Dear God. No one cares. They couldn't pay me enough to wear that camera on my chest. Open your eyes people.
