Close the Beaches!!!

Big police call out at North Avenue Beach Sunday afternoon.

S whole bunch of ambulances and most of the District seemed to be in attendance. The media attempted to play it off as people were "hurt by broken glass," which just makes us think:
  • were these people hurt by thrown bottles? We bet they were;
  • if not, where are the "sand-grooming" machines the Park District spent millions on?
  • this has to be the dumbest excuse Rahm has ever come up with since the beaches were "too hot" a few years ago;
And sure enough, WGN breaks the media embargo and points out a large "brawl" took place (but still mentioning the "glass" injuries):
  • There was a heavy police presence on Chicago beaches this Memorial Day after a lot of trouble there this time last year.

    Police are getting some pretty high marks from beachgoers for the way they handled the large crowds, but that doesn’t mean there were no problems.

    A few people were transported to area hospitals Monday, hurt by broken glass, and although videos show brawls on the beach police say there are no arrests.
The WGN pictures show horses - where was Summer Mobile? Were they patrolling the inland lagoons again?

All you had to do was listen to the radio. There was nothing but fights and disturbances going on all day at North ave beach on Memorial Day.

When your out in the Ocean they will put up signs "SHARK'S in the WATERS" . In Florida it's " Beware of Alligator's".

Chicago needs to put up signs "BEACH CLOSED, THUGS on the BEACH"

The sand cleaner machines were in full force on the 4 pm they go deep enough to pull up bodies, or just skim? Note was made of the crap on the beaches that the users left.

Next is people might get hurt playing in the water or the sun is no good for you. Just close down the beach already. I'm sure some little girl was the cause of all the disturbances.

Now pictures if you are under the bus and special Ed is Driving do you honestly think leaks about your case will not hit the media?

Do not say shit to media affairs!!! request an email with the info they want or tell them to pull up your case report online. OR have that classy merit white shirt hovering around you to pull the info themselves.

Summer Mobile was there idiot! Lt. Cronin was busy having them walk in the middle of all the dance parties on the beach where they were completely outnumbered! I was thinking about going down there to give the poor guys & girls a hand but I had a sweet spot at Castaways w/ my shades on!

Can't even enjoy the beach on a holiday weekend. Why would a hard working, law abiding, taxpayer even stay in a city like that? A city that coddles the same people that cause the most trouble, don't work, don't pay taxes and gets fat taxpayer handouts to boot!
Then the liberal democrats proudly proclaim it to be a sanctuary city. What a joke!

Summer mobile is a total PR stunt. They have detectives, gang enforcement, and narcotics officers putting cases on hold so they can drive around the south and west sides for three months and write parkers and ANOVs. All so the mayor can claim "more police on the road". If my family suffered a loss and the detective on the case put it on hold to work summer mobile, I'd be really pissed.

Can't drive thru the west side, can't drive thru the south side, can't go to Millenium Park, can't go to Buckingham Fountain,
Can't walk along the Mag Mile, can't walk down Halsted, can't go on the el, now can't go on the beaches.......

Yep, this city is just getting smaller and smaller......both in population and safe tourist sites.......

Who RAISES these "children"? Who teaches them right from wrong? Who teaches them respect for themselves and for others?
Who teaches them to read, write, speak proper English so they can get jobs?
Five generations of welfare families, half this city living off the "government" from cradle to grave.
This Democratic city, it's MSM and its politicians have created a downward spiral that I fear can NOT be reversed....
But we all know who gets the blame for this......
Maybe we can open more Chicago Torture Justice Chambers.......what a joke.......

Its unbelivable how the news is controlled by city hall. Been here my entire life, I know the players and how it all works. 27 years on the job. Had conversations with reporters many times asking "whats up with your coverage?" I still don't understand how reporters are told what to cover and follow orders from city hall, but they do! They run with rumors, innuendo, and unnamed sources and when they have facts they "play it down". The fifth estate is dead. The stories that affect us all are Politicians stealing left and right, and the violence.
Look at the stories covered for the last week. Not many politicians covered. This City/county/state "is" broke because of their shenanigans. The dominos are going to fall. The violence is caused by a certain segment of society and everyone is afraid to call it what it is, so it will never get better until we recognize it. No family's or common decency. Fourth generation Chicagoan, Great grandfather came over and was a cowboy in the stock yard. Love the city but I'm done! Retiring, moving out. Years ago went to a seminar at headquarters and some author or something spoke. He said our department has the best police history in the world, and don't ruin it. It sticks in my mind because it went down hill from there. It all goes back to the politicians and their control of every aspect for their own gain. They all get rich. Raham wasn't rich until he became a politician. Now he is. Madigain's weren't rich, now they are and things are worse. Goodby Chicago. The grass is greener in different places.

In many ways Chicago is worse than Baltimore, and Detroit. I left 2 years ago because you couldn't navigate the city safely. I don't profess to know everything, but this much I do know : you can find a nicer place to live, and live cheaper a helluva lot easier than Rahm can find another taxpayer.

Monday Area Central Bikes 2nd watch first started with the "clownin" at Oak street beach then were moved to North Ave Beach. We were walking the sand doing bag and cooler checks, dumping liquor and beer and writing tickets for what we could. Central Bikes 3rd watch came after roll call. We did the best we could given the numbers. Vast vast majority of the crowd there were high school and college kids from the burbs bringing their nonsense here. We were there for hours before Summer mobile was called in. And it was appreciated when they got there. They joined in and we just kept sweeping the beach. The Captain and Lt were out there too walking the sand. All the officers did the best they could given today's circumstances. We are all forced to walk a fine line in today's anti-police climate. I feel for the families with little ones who were trying to enjoy the day. We tired. Yeah the beach was a mess at the end of the day, but that's the city's concern. My concern was making sure my officers were safe as they waded through the crowds and bent over checking coolers and bags. And as they responded on the sand to the few fights that did break out. And at the end of the day no officers were hurt and we all checked off together. So regardless of the crowds and the mess and the media shots, as far as ANY copper should be concerned, the day was a complete success. Stay safe everyone. First and sixteenth, roll call, have your partners back, check off, go home.

And obviously everyone in 18, including 1899, were too busy to be bothered with that white Caddy pinging around the North Loop and Mag Mile like a pinball bumping off parked and moving cars, and thankfully not pedestrians, with a complete blind eye turned, but a close monitor by PH1, as it continued through the northside for a full NINETY minutes thru 18, 19, 17 and almost 16, before bouncing up the curb in Sauganash and Mario Andretti getting snagged on foot in the 6000 block of NORTH Keating. We're lucky we didn't see the Mag Mile get Times Squared by this goof. And the Z4 dispatcher was actually happy when he left the 18th district.
