Concealed Carrier Defends Self (UPDATE!!)
- A 16-year-old Chicago boy was shot and killed this morning after attempting to rob a 24-year-old man in the parking lot of a bank near Madison Street and Austin Boulevard in Oak Park, according to a news release from the Oak Park police department.
Police said that the 24-year-old man, who is from Chicago, has a valid conceal-carry permit.
"The pair apparently exchanged gunfire before the alleged robber reportedly entered a waiting car and fled into Chicago," the release stated.
The wounded teen fled to Chicago, where he died, so we're not sure who's going to pick up the statistic. We don't know about you, but we'll help clean up bodies like this 24/7 if we have to.

You aren't going to belive this, or maybe you will. This 16-year-old armed robber was saved by Officers on the west side not even two years ago using a tourniquet to stop him from bleeding out. To think, he had two whole years to "turn his life around" and maybe become an altar boy or something.
Oh, and his accomplices took him home and dumped him on his own front lawn to die. Couldn't even abandon him at a hospital. What a great childhood.

From a long time Oak Parker - We had this kind of cross border crime here before - hell back in the early 80's, Oak Park Police was running 15 to 16 one man cars from one call after another, while my police scanner would be going bat excrement crazy. Shots fired, thefts, armed robbery, assaults, occasional homicides were the norm then. Now with the courts, and Kim Foxx's office "inability" to prosecute and lockup repeat offenders, this crap is moving west again, as the Oak Parker's have the "goods" to be liberated by the hood rats. Then, you have a huge deficit that Oak Park carries - about 275 million dollars plus - mostly pension. It is not if Oak Park goes broke it's when, I wouldn't be surprised if the police goes down to 3 to 6 cars in the town from the current 12 to 13 units.

Yes this is true for many parts of Africa, the Philippines, Central and South America, many parts of the Caribbean. Not even to mention those war zones in the Middle east. AS BAD as it seems sometimes in parts of the USA, there are few places as safe in the overall. If you're dumb enough to put that on your personal cell phone then you deserve anything that can become of you making such a bad move.
Oak Park, Illinois, was either the 2nd or third municipality in the country, right after Chicago, to ban hand gun ownership. Had they still their way, the victim would be dead today and Oak Park would remain proud of its liberal heritage.

I have....and you bet your bottom dollar every time we hit a house at 2:30AM and rendered the intended target dead, it was good news...for all of us. I served 4 tours in the ME as an 11B. Every single intended target we ended was good news and still is. I get that you may struggle with what you experienced, we ALL do. However your struggle does not void another of neither their opinion or how they view taking an ingrates life. Especially one hell bent on taking your families life. I have zero remorse for my actions, every dead target is dead from their own doing. Same with this repeat thug killed by a CCW permit holder. Taking the life of thug life taker will always be good news in MY book. But that is MY book, you are welcome to your own book, but you don't get to write mine.
Fortunately, as far as I know, U S Bank does not have an ISP approved no gun sign. Otherwise, the concealed carrier would have had to leave his handgun in his car and would not have had quick enough access to it to defend himself. Too many Oak Park businesses display the official no gun sign, leaving peaceful, armed citizens unarmed.
I wonder (not really) if the armed robber had a FOID card; otherwise it would have been illegal for him to possess his firearm. On second thought, he probably left his FOID card at home.
