An interesting article about where murders happen - it's a very narrow slice of the US:
- The United States can really be divided up into three types of places. Places where there are no murders, places where there are a few murders, and places where murders are very common.
In 2014, the most recent year that a county level breakdown is available, 54% of counties (with 11% of the population) have no murders. 69% of counties have no more than one murder, and about 20% of the population. These counties account for only 4% of all murders in the country.
The worst 1% of counties have 19% of the population and 37% of the murders. The worst 5% of counties contain 47% of the population and account for 68% of murders. As shown in figure 2, over half of murders occurred in only 2% of counties.

There certainly is a lot of violence in places that vote for democrats. Why is that?

It is because democrats are concentrated in the large or larger cities and they control those cities. That is where the crime/murders occur. Historically democrats have always be soft on crime.

The city does not need federal help. It needs the political will to do the job necessary and that includes the political court/correction system.
The only political will in Chicago is the police are the problem band wagon.
Can you overlay the demographic info over these two to see who is driving the murders. I know, it's the police.
Have the words "Tough on crime" ever crossed a democrats lips? Did they ever mean it? We now have a "Law and Order" President, could this map also be used to show where all the protesting and rioting is coming from?
Between democrats and illegal aliens, I suspect the second bunch is the smarter ones. A lot of the ones here illegally are trying to get into Canada, and the ones inclined to come here illegally, well 60% - 70% are staying home now.
If democrats had a lick of sense, they might get off this communist agenda train wreck they've been riding and start thinking about how they can Make America Great Again! Start thinking about Americans and not how to squeeze every damn cent they can get in tax money out of them. Or they'll be seeing a lot more red on that map next election.

I believe the article on this states that the murder rate in the US is 4.4 per 100,000. If you remove the most violent counties, top 5%, out of this statistic then the US has a murder rate of 2.5 per 100,000. Statistically, this would make the US no more violent than Lichtenstein.

Almost every major city is blue and have a greater proportion of blacks and Hispanics than the red area. Democrats also reap what they sow.

No because these extreme liberal types are in denial, it's always someone else's fault. And though this map is based on stats, their knee-jerk response will be it's racist. It is also interesting to think about the demographics make up and "diversity" in these hot zones.
Keep that electoral map handy.
It means that the people who supported and voted for President The Donald are less likely to be violent. It means that they have conflict resolution skills and impulse control.

Article in the sun-times stating that shootings are down for the months of March and April. However, they do not mention how many homicides occurred and if they are on a pace with last year.
I wonder why?
