This is not instilling anyone with confidence that the investigation is going well:
- Before the Las Vegas massacre began, a wounded Mandalay Bay hotel security guard called hotel officials to warn them about a gunman on the 32nd floor, an investigator told the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday.
But police did not arrive at the room where the guard had been shot until after Stephen Paddock had finished a 10-minute shooting spree on a crowd gathered below for a country music festival, the investigation now shows.
The revelation that hotel security had been alerted comes a day after Las Vegas police changed their timeline of how the Route 91 Harvest country music festival massacre started on Oct. 1 — not with an attack on a crowd along the Strip at 10:05 p.m., but with the shooting of Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos inside the hotel about six minutes before.
So six minutes before the terrorist rained death down on the crowd, an unarmed security guard got shot AND alerted his bosses of a problem on the 32nd Floor. And the gunman only fired for about ten minutes, leaving behind hundreds, if not thousands of rounds of un-expended ordinance for reasons unknown.
The more time that passes without even a hint of a motive, the more conspiracy theories that pop up. We understand an investigation of this magnitude takes time, but giving out completely wrong information and then contradicting it does no one any favors, in Vegas or in any investigative capacity nationwide.

BTW. He also fired approximalty 200 rounds at the security guard in about a min and a half then starter shooting down on the crowd about 5-6 min later. Guy shot and 200 rounds... then five minutes go bye and not a thing is done?? Guy stops shooting at 1015... first coppers get up to 32nd floor two min later at 1017 with no shots happening for 2 minutes. One minute later at 1018 they run into this security guard who is shot in the leg and directs the police where the "offenders" room is. Zero gunshots are heard for the rest of the night because the offender presumably is already dead from "suicide" leaving several loaded weapons still set up in staged locations and thousands or rounds Lin pre loaded drums and magazines yet to be fired. The door connecting the two rooms is drilled or screwed shut yet the window in that non accessible room is broken and there are guns and expended shells in that room.. hmmm, it's secured shut with a broken window and shell casings but the offender is "alone" and in the main room and even the police couldn't get into the room because it was screwed shut so how did the lone offender make it back and forth??? I'm not a big conspiracy guy but something happened here and there is a lot more too this. This is like a larger scale joe gliniwitcz type of thing happening here. I got a feeling that the sheriff knows it too but has no clue what's going on and doesn't know how to proceed. He seems awefully stressed and unsure about everything.
With all these victims I'm sure lawyers are crawling all over Vegas like aunts on a sugar pile. They just need somebody to sue. Could someone be trying to protect Mandalay Bay from liability for not taking appropriate action in those early six minutes after the guard was shot and notified the hotel of an active shooter.
This investigation is turning into a complete joke. Compare this with the investigation of the Boston bombings. Unfortunately, all the conspiracy theorists are gaining credibility.

First step is tracking and establish the events with a timeline included and ensuring that you have it correct at the beginning of the investigation. Changing the timeline a week later, is minor league stuff. Terrible actually when you are so-called professionals investigating a tragic and incredibly complicated incident like this. I had a suspicion from the start that his girlfriend
helped him get the stuff up to his room using the
back way: service elevators. I never dreamed that
a casino would give out this privilege to their high
rollers and he could do the task himself. Today
there's no more access keys: it's all swipe cards.
So there must be a record of him using the service
elevators multiple times. No way he carted up all
that shit in one trip. Sorry, no way.
The simple lesson is this: UNARMED SECURITY, MEANS NO SECURITY! Even if the police had been across the street, responding to the Unarmed Security Personnel, and getting up to the 33rd Floor, would have given the shooter enough time to fire hundreds if not thousands of rounds. Hotel corporations apparently believe that they only need to provide a "Perception" of security, rather than train and pay for competent Armed Security. The Lesson to be learned from this will be expensive for the Corporation, and is already expensive to the families of the deceased. Had the Security Personnel been armed, they could have engaged the shooter, before he opened up on the crowd. This exchange of gunfire could have provided enough time to clear the venue. I realize that even police departments can't meet their own recruitment goals, but using Unarmed personnel and claiming they are Security, is simply unacceptable as a matter of safety. If there is no possible armed response in a hotel as large as Mandalay Bay, the hotel is simply Not Safe. Baby "G"
There should be more than enough video from the hotel prior to the shooting, that would reveal how the weapons got into the hotel, portions of these videos should be released to put to bed any alternet theroies, unless there is more too this.

Worst case scenario for law enforcement is an active shooter. We MUST go the threat tactically and take out the threat. Military rules of engagement apply.
After all the shooting there was video of him staggering down the hall. He then walked into the freezer. We must protest this cover up.

That unarmed security means no security at all is a
very old idea. Thousands of years ago eunuchs were
used to guard harems.
Among the reports of very curious possible "facts" in this horrible mess are that the rifles were bought new from legit dealers, 4473s' filed, all in order. The rifles in the room were bought since Oct 2016, from a dealer in Mesquite, from a Cabelas, and from several other dealers.
A report said that the AR clones (5.56) were several Daniel Defense rifles, with scopes or Eotech sights and at least one with a bum-fire stock, several H+K and / or FNs, and at least one scoped AR-10 in 7.62 NATO. One report said that the cost of the weapons, sights, accessories, magazines, ammo, and other equipment at the scene was in excess of $40,000.
For someone who reportedly owned apartments and other investment property, even if professionally managed, and had an income in excess of $1 Mil / year, to have NO online presence at all stinks like lutefisk on a hot day.
Especially where an early report mentioned "several" phones in the suite, and one charger that did not fit any of the electronics in the room.
The "security guard" is another problem. Nevada requires all security guards to be registered / licensed by the State. This guy does not appear on the roll of licensed security guards under the name reported for him. There should also be some licensing for him as a casino employee. He also seems to have no on-line presence or history either.
Is this a trend, or is some agency sanitizing the online history?
I do not like the idea of vast conspiracies, as my experience has been that it is almost impossible to get more that 4 folks to show up for dinner at the same time. However, the inconsistencies in the time-lines, the lack of reports from anyone who knew the shooter or the guard, who worked for or with them, and the absence of interviews with the wounded and injured, or with their families is very strange.
I have seen the reporting of Chicago street shootings, and the families are on the TV crying and howling before the ambulances even pull away.
When I can't figure something out, I tend to look to see who benefits from the action in question. Here, all I can logically guess at is either the shooter snapped from a drug (anti-depressant) induced paranoia, or he wanted to make a statement in favor of gun control. I am probably wrong in this, but the official news hasn't helped me.
I guess I'll just wait and see.
