Cop Shot in Hand
- A Chicago police officer was shot in the hand around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on the Far South Side, police said.
The officer was shot after a short chase near East 95th Street and South Calumet Avenue, according to Chicago police spokesman Anthony [Google-me].
A weapon was recovered from the scene, and a suspect is in custody.....
As far as we know, Google-me didn't tweet a picture of the weapon.
Copper is in good condition, but hand wounds are tricky. Best wishes on a speedy recovery.

Offender convicted for UUW last year and got a 4 year sentence. Hey Huffington Post, shootings are way down on Chicago's South side and that reason is Tom Dart huh?

Officer has been stripped for putting himself in a position to get shot by a youth who only wanted to turn his life around.

I only hope this shooting of a CPD was not connected to the new Use Of Force and media coverage of shootings. If this caused hesitation on the part of this officer, then the mayor and aclu are the responsible parties.

POLICE SHOOTING UPDATE: After analyzing officer's ballistic vest, detectives found an additional bullet lodged in the officers rear kevlar panel suggesting offender fired multiple rounds at officer after he went down. We are very lucky this didn't end in a tragedy.

I particularly enjoyed Johnsons statement "...I can't find the words to articulate to you all how this upsets me because, listen, this officer could've easily gotten killed last night," Johnson told reporters. I bet the Sgt from 007 would have loved to have heard those words from the Sup after his shooting, since that Sgt is sitting at home in 30 days pending separation status via the all powerful Police Board.
I can't wait for a PO to sue this bogus ass mayor and co. due to the fact that they cultivated and facilitated a culture of hatred and bias toward the police by a certain segment of society that now dictates policy and therefore had a specific role in setting the new use of force model that ultimately led to a PO hesitating out of fear and confusion on who the real bad guy is, that resulted in said PO getting shot and severely injured.

We are working on 018 tonight and they share the zone4 with 001. Well at night they only had 113R 121R and 131R at one point. They had about 22 jobs pending. They had holding the offender at a few different places. The dispatcher couldn't believe it. He asked for a Sgt and asked " do you have units doing elearning?" Sgt was like "no that's all we got. Unbelievable
I have to wonder did this felon receive a early pardon with a politicians help. There was a bit of a scandal about 7 years ago involving Democratic politicians pushing for early release of gang members. The media only reported on a extremely small number of politicians involved in this corrupt practice.

Why wait? The courts are available to you to file it
And who are you to say the officer hesitated out of fear and confusing. You have no idea if that happened. The officer did a good job, but unfortunately was shot. Maybe he should sue your bogus ass for defaming his character of the officer by saying he hesitated out of fear.
Officer should get him a lawyer and file a lawsuit. Sue any and everyone who is responsible for this asshole being out of jail and not completing his sentence. States attorney, Crook County, Parole board, Prison Board. If offender was still in jail where he belongs I would have never gotten shot. Now whoever is responsible who signed for his release Please stand up

Glad you are still with us, Office. Take that hand injury seriously. Rehab is important, complete rehab. May I suggest using one of those foam like bottle covers, and working on your grip. Start with 12 ounces, and work your way down, then repeat.
I would also suggest water resistance. Try dragging your hand on a lake, off the side of a boat, at about 1.8 to 2.3 mph, while trolling.

First, I thank GOD (Yes I said GOD!) the officers are okay. Second, I would love to see the family attempt to file suit against the Crook County judicial system. I am amazed that family's of our homicide victims don't end up suing the courts when they realize the offender shouldn't have been on the street in the first place. OH WAIT....Judges are granted immunity from civil law suits resulting from criminal findings and sentencing. They can't be held liable. I guess the only recourse is mass public outrage, and I just don't see that happening; as it is way more popular to beat up on the VERY LIABLE police department who gets sued for anything and everything. Let's face it, there just arn't enough people who remember these judges at election time.
