Naughty list out for no swiping at hq. Over 240 never swiped. From way on top to lowly PO. Entire units, inspection unit, civ dir's, n of course the waste of salary from a previous post is on there....The nerve of these people.
So no one is being penalized for ignoring the directive of Special Ed - where do they get the idea that they can do this?

Good, they shouldn’t. Stay strong and don’t swipe. You can’t figure out the pilot program if the program doesn’t work in the first place. Don’t knock them SCC, it will help us all in the long run. Keep it up all of you!!
The swiping city wide will never work. The police aren't factory workers. It's a fluid constantly changing job. If special units or people don't have to swipe while the regular guys do, it will cause lots of drama. Swiping will also end what little is left of proactive policing too. Morale is so rock bottom right now that swiping will not only put the final nail in the "morale coffin" it will burry "morale" at sea. The powers that be surely know this. Don't fix what's not broken. Just control the abuse in OT by some units.

As to proactive policing, sorry by all accounts that ended long ago. So all the unaccountable overtime is coming to an end, get used to the real world.

When will you learn not to take what Special Ed says literally? All this stuff he comes out with is only meant for District Sgts and POs, the arm pit if the Department. Special Ed went on TV and said he and every one else will wear a camera, but from what I see only Sgts and below in the Districts are wearing cameras. Where is your camera Special Ed?

You get paid 8 hours for doing your job right? I am sick and tired of hearing from some of you sissies- "morale will go down". The biggest issue is how certain connected people do not have to work a full shift. While the majority of us do have to work a full shift.

I never swiped just to test if anyone would catch me. No one ever did. Never one swipe. Blow it out their ass.
Keep swiping!!! Make the entitled half day full pay goons suck it up...they gotta work just like everyone else. No more cheating beat cops out of due overtime pay either!
Likewise, it will lead to the "higher ups" having to punch that timeclock too!!!
Give'em what they want. Next thing will be you cannot work, or expect pay, for anything over 8 hours. Then crimes will only happen just before the end of your shift, when no one has time to process an arrest, and before the next shift starts.

Swiping your A$$ crack doesn't count....
What if they start not paying you for time worked if you didn't swipe. No swipe your not on job and not getting paid. That's the way the private sector works. You don't swipe becomes an unexcused absence and will cost a furlough day. Just STFU and swipe.

It is very comforting to see that even the hacks over @ 35/Michigan oppose the swipe. Their is hope yet with our Department. The only thing anyone should be swiping is toilet paper after lunch if you know what I mean.

It is working in other city, county and state agencies. No reason for it not to work here with us, unless the housecats, tact teams and Homan Square are afraid to work 8 hour tours.

I work the Mobile Commandtrucks and light truck, we keep such crazy hours its impossible to swipe so we are not doing it.RB
All employees should be required to swipe in .
Officers assigned to review,caps,time keeper ,headquarters ,Homan Square should be required to swipe in and out .
They never miss lunch , take 3-4 personals a day , are not tied down to radio assignments .
Working a beat car , you often miss lunch , refused personals , make an arrest near the end of tour and a Sergeant or Lieutenant can cut you 1/2 hour early .
Every rookie knows tact ,watch,Commander Secretary, academy staff , caps officers work a 6 hour day on a bad day , do no police work and should be replaced with civilians at 1/2 their pay .

now officers that were on duty DISABILITY , not available to work are trying to get back for for duty availability many , not all were working other jobs , full or part time , baby sitting , vacationing on the dollars taken from our pension fund
75% tax free , now want more of pension funds
maybe 25% cannot work , most coulod work 4-6 hours a day and free up full duty officers to work the street , duty disability is broken
Mike Lappe better prosecute , get charges against the scammers
few are back working at headquarters , some should have been fired and prosecuted

I know you are one of those few officers who spend their uniform allowance on uniforms and equipment and not for Christmas presents. I was legitamately injured fighting a guy on PCP trying to disarm us. Took 15 minutes before the dispatcher got our correct location. Now my back is screwed up for life. I have to take oxycodone and dilaudid for the pain. I would love to come back, but the department would ban me from returning because I can't carry while on narcootics. I'm so rich with my Disability payment which started out at 50 percent and now has gone down to 40 percent of my current salary schedule. The reason I'm fighting to get the duty availability is that the Illinois Appellate Court ruled it was part of salary whether you are available or not. It will work out to about 160 dollars a month. With all that money I Might buy a Mansion.
There are some scammers, but most cannot do the job at all. Do you think anybody in their right mind would stay at home making shit. No I'd be begging to come back light duty. For me to come back light duty I'd have to be able to carry and operate my weapon. But for me to be able to sit and stand or drive for 8 hours, I'd always need to be on my narcotic pain killers. Then I am a liability to the city if I get into a shooting. Remember we don't see any increase for 7 years, then a slight one at 10 years. 75 percent after 7 years drops to 60 percent and at 10 years locked into 50 percent. So nobody is getting rich.
Swiping will and can work. Simple policy is swipe in and out or you don't get paid,we are notchildren or privileged. We get paid to work, plain and si Mike. Screw the excuse that we are notcivilians. We make great money.
