Seriously Tribune?
- More than 30 shot, 6 fatally, in most violent weekend of 2018
Wow. That's horrible. And how many weekends have there been in 2018 so far?
- Three
So what are they going to report the rest of the year? You know, when it's actually in the 80's and 90's and the body counts end up in the 50's, 60's and the occasional 70?

The mainstream media is growing more irrelevant my the minute.
No coverage of what really happened in Vegas and certainly no mention of the Clinton foundation/ GPS fusion/ uranium one investigations..... what are they waiting for ??? Oh yeah, the O.K.
Growing up, my family always got the Trib delivered over the Scum Times. So you could say that I was raised reading the Tribune as my main line of news my whole life. I will NEVER consciously give them another dime for as long as I live! Assholes!
Sensationalism is key for the media. Otherwise no one will notice.
Their argument is that their stories are "accurate", but not necessarily factual.
Why do you think they call them, "stories"?

That’s a lot of people. This wouldn’t have happened if we had more presence out there. Re-instate VRI !!
Well get use to it there is no more proactive policing. The criminals will benefit and the citizens will suffer.
Well, that's it for 2018. Lock the doors and turn off the lights.

I know, I know, pick me ...”police shoot unarmed man who allegedly shot 25 people. A handgun was found nearby, suspect is allegedly on video and wearing his ID cars around his neck. Residents confirm officers ‘didnt Have to shoot that man.’ COPA is investigating.” Repeat a million times.
Super duper most violent

Insanely crazy violent...

The government shutdown has been resolved and all non-essential personnel are to return to their fortified battle ready cubicles at headquarters. These staffs, living the dream, or dreamers have been granted sanctuary after threat of being sent back to foreign places like Englewood, Harrison, Calumet, South Chicago and Austin.
Another important stat to report is car jackings or armed robberies. They seem to be taking a toll on everyday people.
If these murders continue, we may lose a whole genetation of thugs and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Remember that the city cancelled the days off of tac teams in half the district on Friday through Sunday. They saw the weather reports.
The department should hire murder police to enforce the homicide statutes with strict compliance to prevent additional murders. These officers can use state of the art video and audio personal recording devices in an effort to make air tight defense attorney proof mission activity. Activity can include the number of murders that did not occur and corresponding event numbers to bolster successes. When the number crunchers tabulate the raw data of countless murders that did not occur to the large number that did occur, the bosses will look like geniuses by way of statistics and rightfully so.
Does this mean that those 22 agencies that sent their officers to learn about our homicide reduction tactics get their money back?
Speaking of the Tribune, the morons in the Chicago media culture who disrespect the police are trying to gin up controversy because Trump Tower made facilities available to the police during the pink pussy march on Saturday again showing Trump respects the police.
Does anybody buy the Tribune anymore, are the people (or folks) rushing out to buy one when Jr. catches one. Who would advertise with them.
Stop paying attention to shootings and homicides. Those numbers distract from the real problem.
The real numbers killing Chiraq are the jackings, robberies, and burglaries downtown and on the north side.
These areas need to be policed with an iron fist for the sake of economic survival. Rahm getting behind this concept has a probability of ZERO.
Normies are starting to leave.

Will they ever run out of bodies to shoot in the ghetto? Or will they come northwest to hunt?
Looks like Rham may be loosing his strangle hold on the local Chicago media.
How dare they publish any negative Chicago crime stats? (unless they can blame the police)
Don't worry he'll just have Fran or Mopra step up their game for more smoke n' mirrors.

CPD used Trump Tower conference room to police Women's March
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chicagoinc/ct-met-cpd-trump-tower-0123-chicago-inc-20180122-story.html
So the liberal media the totally slanted dishonest anti-police Chicago media is reporting that the Chicago Police Department use the room and President Trump‘s tower to watch the women’s march! So the pro police president Donald Trump allowed hard-working police officers to use a room in his building to do their jobs in there something wrong with us? Fuck that Chicago media sorry for the vulgarity second city cop but this is getting more and more ridiculous!

i'm real interested to know if cold winter day's killings is better for public health than hot sweltering summer day's killings?
could the Trib or another "story telling" rahmista propaganda operation prehaps tell me the story of differing decomposition/rotting corpse rates as ambient temperature changes ???
is it true that a less rotten cold storage corpse is less dangerous to breathe around than a rotting, suppurating hot storage corpse ?
this is another reason that Global Warming (which is, ahem, Proven, Settled Science) is dangerous to us: faster corpse rottification spreading stank 'n disease
so please somebody in da'Press please write up a story on this item of public interest
as for me, i figger that the more deader they are the better they be, no matter what the ambient temperature

Well if they do it by you like they do it in my district One of your sergeants completes your evaluation under the guise the lieutenant or captain is actually doing it. You see, the Sgt signs in using the lieutenant or captain's PC number and/or submit comments to evaluate you pretending it's the lieutenant or captain making those comments (is this ethical??) On at least three or four occasions I have refused to sign off accepting my review as I was never even once directly supervised by the sgt completing the evaluation. Or the sgt gave me a 94 under the attendance rating when I was present for duty every day of the grading period And not once late. I refused to sign off on that one too. Sarges "reasoning" behind the 94?? I can't go up next time if I give you 100% now. Feel free to refuse to sign the evaluation if the Sgt completing it has never been one of your direct supervisors. Make sure you add a nice comments as the reason why. Like " how is it possible that Sgt ___________ can evaluate my work performance when inhave never once appeared on their supervisors management log/ I have not seen them respond to one of my jobs to log me". I would go so far as to say this might be falsifying an official police document on their part. In short, THESE EVALUATIONS ARE A POPULARITY CONTEST AND A SUPERVISOR THAT DOESN'T LIKE YOU CAN BASICALLY PUT DOWN ANYTHING THEY WANT. Don't sign off on it if you're not comfortable doing so.

I agree, Cline is a total stroke for accepting this ridiculous salary.
On the other hand, a good friend of mine (CPD) lost his wife several years ago, leaving him to raise his young children on his own.
The CPMF stepped up and donated money to this officer on a couple occasions.
I don’t agree with everything they do, but they do help many officers in need that you’ll never hear about.
Preckwinkle was on the news last night saying that the police only arrest black people for marijuana possession. Her words, were, in essence, " The police only arrest black people for marijuana, they do not arrest white people, so my position is no one should be arrested for this". Now, I have been retired for a few years and things could have changed, but as I recall very few people were ever arrested in this town for minor possession of weed, unless they were fools and threatening or dealing on the street. Preckwinkle is just a racist and is constantly bashing the police , calling them, in an indirect way racists. It is a shame when one of our top elected officials is so anti-white and anti-police.

I was talking to a Sgt down at the academy today and she said that all detectives classes are being put off until the fall now because ... wait for it.... tada, because patrol can’t afford to lose as many bodies that they wanted to make. Also rahm wants to tout come June and July about how many people he has in patrol compared to last year then boom they will make the class in September before the fiscal year ends. Then another class after that. Gee, I guess it’s true that we are barely keeping up with attrition. Do any of you know how many detectives retired since the last dics class? With retirements and promotions the d unit is only +40 bodies from the time before they made the first class last January. They made about 135 and 125 in class sizes. All of those have been burned through. So now the d unit will continue to dwindle and patrol will barely keep its head above water because the new classes are all smoke and mirrors. Nothing like another bloody shooting season with under staffed over worked detectives, beat cars and evidence technicians.
Donating to wounded warriors would be the same. There is some head of the organization making a handsome salary at the cost of the donations. And what makes donating to an organization benefiting former military personnel better than to a police organization? Military stints are a 4 year gig, law enforcement is a 25+ year gig. Both are battlefields one way or another, as you can tell by the catastrophic injuries from both. Soldiers, thank you for your service, but cops serve as well, just a bit different. There's alot of attention and alot of money thrown at military organizations, let's remember the cops and fireman as well. If you don't like the operations of the memorial fund, then donate to the 100 Club of Cook County. I sent the evaluation to the Watch Commander who then decided what sergeant would evaluate the officer. Hopefully, it was a sergeant who had actual knowledge of that officers ability/performance. Ultimately, the commander has the final say on approval and I would frequently call in sergeants to explain a superior or negative evaluation. If the sergeant could justify his rating, i would 99% of the time concur although a few times I either lowered or raised the rating.

This afternoon while I was flipping channels, WTTW Independent Lens/The Force was on. The program is about the Oakland Police Department. If you go to the web page, you can watch it or there are times when the program will run on tv. OPD went through three police chiefs in less than a month. The first Chief seem to have his shit together and last two could not keep their pants on.
Oakland had more anti police disturbances after the Ferguson shooting than in Ferguson. Interesting program which is worth watching. Makes me want to retire asap.
Anne Kirkpatrick, I want to vomit - Chicago police reformer, is now the chief. Too bad The Force was filmed before she took over.

I do not need Phil Cline, with a bloated pension and a ridiculously high salary from the fund, to remind me of the service and trauma of police officers, however, my donations will never, ever be funneled through Phil Cline. He should have sought a job in private industry or another government agency to enhance his wealth and then donate his time if he had such a burning desire to assist the fund. The manner in which Cline has used the fund for his personal gain sickens me.

We had officers in our district who waited at least 10 years off that old list. Relax and wait your turn Francis.
That’s a lot of people. This wouldn’t have happened if we had more presence out there. Re-instate VRI !!
LIVE within your MEANS.
I agree. I and many other officer's I know personally have been helped by the CPMF. When you or a loved one is fighting for their life, and those big out of pocket hospital bills come, that the insurance doesn't cover. It was nice know that our fellow officers, family, friends and community members helped out. 9 years later and I'm still here. I was able to mend with less stress. I am forever grateful to everyone of you who supports the CPMF.
VRI didn't work, nothing ever does
Sergeants & Bosses cheated on the promotional exam & nothing is going to happen
Bosses black ball officers they don't like & its not fair
A whole lot of adultery going on to keep their spots its really whoring at its best
Everyone lies on each other to make themselves look good and we all know who they are
Moral is low as hell, it wont be the first time
The bosses wives, dips, girlfriend are in cushy spots, same old shit
Still a segregated department, nothing will ever change
Corruption on every entity of the city, it a way of life
Still a lot of ass kissing, and will forever continue
Nobody cares about fighting crime anymore so the good citizens suffer
Guns gangs and violence are out of control in the poor neighborhoods but nothing will ever change
Court cases are a joke and the bad guy goes free
Drugs are taking over but the minion sellers are still poor
I just don't care anymore
I hate politics
Women get treated unfairly on the department
Everyone smiles but hate each other
The credit union is full of shit when it comes to minorities
The whole city is under an evil spell
Everyone pretends to like Eddie J but waiting to get his spot
Its time for a new mayor
Time for a new superintendent
At least things will change for a little while but turn back to the sane old shit
What im really trying to say is, everyone but a few chosen can just my ass!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a very sick family member but somehow I dont see a check from Phil Cline heading my way seeing that I was never in the Phat Phil Phoney Phelony club. He wasn't there when this phucked up job was rail roading me so why would he be there now? I'm left with nothing but bitterness and contempt for this phucking city and Dept. I'll pay my own bills.

Illinois leads all states in incidents of influenza. For the welfare of your fellow officers and the public, do NOT go to work if you have flu symptoms.

And where were the free flu shots at the districts this year?
Go to Walgreens or CVS and get one. You have health insurance
Bring back vri! Queue the jagoff vri didn't work comments...

Let me guess, your the moron who put that entire second floor addition on his home several months back, and now has what amounts to having two mortgages.Better call Peter Francis Geraci kid, because vri isn't coming back.
1/24/2018 02:27:00 AM
Why are you so concerned about what other po’s are doing? If a guy wants to put an addition on his house, why do you care? Maybe because his family is growing or aging parents have to live with him or maybe he just wants to. Or now does he have to listen to more shit feom you about how he should have less children.
Get a life and quit worrying about jut people
I sent the evaluation to the Watch Commander who then decided what sergeant would evaluate the officer.

Was this the old numbers ratings, or the new online version ?
Don't give to the Wounded Warrior Project. They claim that 80 percent of donations goes to vets, but in reality, just 54 to 60 percent goes to vets.
1/23/2018 10:09:00 PM
You are correct. Wounded Warriors is not an acceptable alternative, however, the National Commanders of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans, the Military Order of Purple Hearts and the Vietnam Veterans Association all take no salary. One hundred percent of your donation goes to the veterans, their families and youth programs.
Also, one hundred percent of donations to Make A Wish, Saint Jude Research Hospital, Ronald McDonald Houses and Lions Club International are used for recipient's wishes and needs. And, the Salvation Army Commissioner receives a small salary of only $13,000 per year (plus housing) for managing this $2 billion dollar organization. Ninety-six percent of donated dollars go to the cause.
are you kidding me? learn to mind your own fucking business. . . . .

From your response,it looks as though "1/23/2018 06:51:00 PM" hit the nail on the head about VRI workers. God, if one person who worked VRI told me they did anything, no one did. The biggest grip I heard from VRI workers was how they messed with cigarette lighters to stop those who brought TV's from watching movies.

first of all. Fuck Rahm Emanuel and second of all... I thought we had 12500 boots on the ground in CPD another lie from that little asshole.
Officers were told from day 1, stay in the box, only patrol the box, don't leave the box for any reason. Vri did work , shootings were down 68%, murders down 32% when 245 guys worked vri every day, bring back unlimited vri. Save the children by god.
o.t. question:
When a Sgt does an evaluation for an officer, how does he get assigned a P.O.? Are officers assigned to Sgts randomly, or does the Lt, Captain, or Commander specifically give a Sgt the police officers he wants them to evaluate? Thanks in advance for the response.
1/23/2018 04:15:00 AM
I sure hope you are enjoying your retirement!
There hasn't been a number associated with evaluations for about 10 years now..
So how is Arizona? Or Florida? Or Tennessee? Or Florida?--or did you stay in Chicago?
