This Guy Makes Sense

  • When Sheriff Tom Dart’s office announced last month that the Cook County Jail population had dropped below 6,000 inmates for the first time in a decade, the media was all over it. The Tribune. CBS. NBC. They all reported Dart’s chief policy officer’s talking points without any counterpoints. NBC even said there was "uniform support for bond reform by the head of the county’s court system, the sheriff and prosecutor, as well as County Board President Toni Preckwinkle."

Oddly, not a single outlet seemed able to locate anyone with reservations about the jail story. Like the police chief in west suburban Riverside. He's more than happy to offer his thoughts. “I have been telling our state and county elected official that criminal justice reform, including bond reform, is not protecting our citizens,” Riverside Chief Tom Weitzel told us today. “My concerns fall on deaf ears.”

Weitzel issued his own press release about the jail population. We could not find any media outlets that have reported on it. “Our elected officials in Cook County and the state keep calling me an ‘alarmist,’” Weitzel said today. “After 33 years in law enforcement I know I am telling the truth!”
Thirty-three years in law enforcement. That sounds like more than Dart, Prickwrinkle, Foxxx and Evans combined.

Maybe he ought to run for something.

Judge releases asshole to go free... asshole obviously sees that the judicial system is shit--- asshole then wrecks havoc on the citizens who are barely able to make ends meet and pay rent-- rent which has increased by a landlord who's property tax has increased due to Preckringle... wow when does this shit stop

Why is Dart running for Sheriff again. Hasn't he embarrassed himself enough. His office is so incompetently run that even his media protectors cant help but mention it. Then his latest target is the Feds and justice department. Saying they were incompetent long before Trump. Has he looked at his office lately and he has the gall to call the Feds out.

Dart told Andrew Shaw of the BGA he remembered bad police officers roaming the streets in the 1980s. Wtf is he talking about???? he graduated high school in 1980 and lived in mostly white neighborhood full of cops. Was there like a secret police force that dirty harry wiped out 3 decades ago in Beverly.

The sad thing is that it’s just ONE Chief. If other Chief’s grew a set, made statements and called out the County for the BS that it pulls, maybe something would be done or changed. Of course he will fall on deaf ears.hes just one Chief out of how many in this County? Strength in numbers... Just like when Foxx changed the requirements of felony retail. If bigger towns that deal with Retail Thefts often like Oak Lawn, Orland Park, etc chimed in, it would’ve said something. Instead, there was again, ONE Chief that spoke up. It’s embarrassing that the leaders just don’t work together at all.

The jail population dropped because the criminals are on the street, carjacking citizens.

They forgot to mention they I bond all child sex offenders who are caught living next door to grammar schools and those arrested for not registering at correct addresses. They ( Kimmmys office) follow the IL statues their own way. Who cares about public safety. Oh and btw, those I bond sex offenders just go back to where they aren't supposed to be living because they know they can get away with it......thanks T. Evans and judges.

Check out the arrest and ibond of L.P. ---Child predator
Was actually called out by his neighbor who was "grooming" her young son, was living in mummy's basement, but registered at a different address, arrested and charged...... I bonded, yes I bonded,,and returned back to the hood much to the neighbor's disgust.
Original arrest and prison term was for sodomizing one young relative then penetrating another young relative.
Child predators are just that, there's no rehabbing of these demons. They will continue to do their dirty deed whenever they see that opportunity. Watch your kids because no matter what laws are in place for protection, cracks are created and there's a HUGE crack at 26th street , created by those you expect to protect you ...... preliminary bond court judges, the Cook County ASA office and Cook County Jail. VOTE them all out, at least do it for your 8 year old nephew or 11 year old niece.

A Police Chief that doesn't kiss the politicans ass and say what he is told to say, WOW! I didn't think there were any left in the whole state or country. You might as well run for office before they fire you or was that the plan all along?

We citizens all know the reduction of jail population means criminals are free on the street to cause crime. How else would you explain 250 dead in New York and 625 or so in Chicago for 2017.It is as simple as there is no will within the judicial and political culture in Chicago to lock up those who cause crime in jail with others who cause crime here. Yet too many of us keep electing these failures to the bench or political offices, The voters in this state, county and city are causing the crime problem are they not?

This revolving door policy does have an upside, for those not entrenched in full faith in the laws of man.

Dexter, while being a fictional character, may be whom the empty the jails politicians have failed to consider.......

The Paul Kersey's they don't figure will have much impact on their schemes to maintain that all important continuing series of "never let a crisis go to waste" conniveries, but several Dexter inspired entrepreneurs could, at the least, make for no budget needed entertainment.......

Riverside Chief Tom Weitzel, you are far from alone on this. Unfortunately, Democrats control the media in Crook County and most of the dinosaur media. However, with your courage, experience and knowledge it’d be refreshing to see someone like you run for political office. Even to just make some noise and challenge the constant wrongdoings all the Democrats commit regularly would be a step in the right direction. Democrats have ruined Illinois.

The Chief held his own press conference. One of his statements was, he was worried about his officers morale. He believes that if his department keeps arresting offenders and Cook County keeps releasing them, the officers will eventually become less involved. I know that feeling. What I don't know is, what it's like to work for a top cop that represents the Dept. like this Chief represents his.

Way to speak the truth Chief! Check out his statement here.....

This Chief knows that West Side predators who fear no prosecution will migrate to better "hunting grounds" in his community. One can only pray that there enough concealed carry people to make a difference.

Tell the truth or expose bias and you’re a screwball.
Even if these small suburban police chiefs who have all seen crime going through the roof, banded together as their own political action committee they wouldn’t get any mainstream media coverage.
The commentary press release was accepted by small circulation outlets and most likely intended to smear Dart, nor Porkwinkle, not KimJungFxx and not Rahm Emanuel. It had little to do with the indisputable facts related to Chief Weitzels opinion.
Democrats are going to ignore Weitzel.

Not a big fan of Gov. Rauner but he has one of the most ballsy campaign ads ever that runs frequently.
It shows governors from WI, IN, MO, sarcastically thanking Madigan and his corrupt cabal for all the economic growth in their states.

The police Chiefs (and the mayors) of Chicago’s suburban towns should get together and do the same types of PAC ads against Rahm-PrickWanker-KimmJung. After all it’s the Democrat transfer of Chicago feral runoff that’s responsible for most their violent crime.

There needs to be a stand against Rahm Emanuel’s pandering bullshit that he and Cook County is spewing.
If Rauner is a true Law and Order candidate for Illinois Governor...he should be spearheading the effort to oust Chicago Democrats as well as the entrenched state Democrats.

Is there only one law enforcement authority speaking out, or is the media putting a muzzle on everyone else?
If the media down plays crime, and has their own agenda, how can anything they report be believed? They only hurt themselves.

The way that Felony Review and the judges handle registered sex offender violations is pathetic, if not criminal. I handled many of these such arrests and it took an Act of Congress to obtain felony charges. If one was able to obtain said charges, judges would then dismiss or I-bond at will. I thought everything is for the children, Rahm? This is another one of many laws that go unenforced in Cook County. Sadly enough, the cases I mentioned were prior to Kim Foxxhole.

Riverside Police Chief Weitzel loves to see his name in print. And Riverside Police Department is not a favorite of the A.S.A.'s. He tries to turn every other misdemeanor into a felony especially when it comes to traffic.

George Soros funded Kim Fox. He wants crime to escalate, so chaos will result. It is the only way that his radical political agenda stands a chance. He wants more Ferguson type riots to discredit the police.

But Kim Foxx has also found two other sources of cash, in the form of twin $300,000 donations to a Super PAC supporting her called Illinois Safety & Justice. The sole donors to the PAC are neoliberal superdonor and conservative-boogeyman George Soros and a "dark-money" group called Civic Participation Action Fund. A Super PAC is a fundraising group, created by the 2010 Supreme Court Citizens United decision, that can raise as much money as they want for any candidate or cause—as long as they don't coordinate on any level with political campaigns, which have much smaller campaign limits.
