- Stay safe and be careful around these new recruits. Remember, they have been brain washed, and many are like Rahm, not even from "Shitcaga". They talk about "Change", but since they are new around here, they do not even know what they are changing from. Change to them may include getting rid of the Evil Cops who are the Real Problem. Don't forget the recruit who was assigned to 019 who went on line to check if the FTO he was assigned to had CRs. When he saw that the FTO had CRs, he "demanded" a Different FTO, because he felt the one assigned could be bad for his career!
We remember getting all sorts of advice from coppers with CR numbers. What not to do, how to write tight paper, how to answer the BS drama that came with OPS taking every single complaint that got called in without evaluating it for veracity, reality or even legality. We wouldn't want to be taught by someone who hadn't been around the block at least a couple times.

If it's that easy to get your FTO dumped then some supervisor should hip all the PPO's to FTO Predator on days in 025. They can't seem to get him stripped of his Field Training status so having the young rookies refuse to work with him will circumvent that. They do run the risk though of missing his hide the gun and go seek training drill, in his personal car, along with his private combat class held in the work out room. So now in addition to wondering how the new guy/gal will respond to stressful situations, ya gotta be leery of who’s side they may actually be on? Divide and conquer. Dear God, be safe and protect each other, please.
I remember, as a supervisor, one recruit who wanted to talk to me about his FTO. The recruit stated that he felt that his FTO was not very knowledgeable and started questioning everything his FTO was showing him. Keep in mind, the recruit had only been on the street a few days. I told him, in the future, follow the chain of command and follow your FTO's valuable guidance!
I still think that the idea is to break down the big city police departments so the federal government can justify centralization.

There's a few good ones but most of them are absolutely horrible. Won't search prisoners properly and don't want to because they don't want to touch people, some know everything and with their year on the job, will tell you how to do the job. Some are already dogs and the best is some don't understand our senority system as they become angry when they work holidays or can't get a weekend off or they get a detail. Some are like mutes. They can't manage to say hello or even acknowledge when the boss calls their name in roll call. They also don't understand the concept of a uniform as they show up to roll calls with baseball hats on that are not cpd, jewelry or their own clothing with the uniform.
They always try to brain wash the new group coming on. The group will get with the program when they see others getting fired or going to call back. Just get them on their own and give them rope and they will either hang them selves or get with the program. The administration is expecting the new people to change the department. The only problem is the administration doesn't know reality. Be safe.
We were always told C.R.'s are just part of the Act, expect them, show's you're doing the job.......

The department is lost. Even just 15-20 years ago the majority of guys being hired were kids that grew up in the city. They knew the difference between the north, south and west sides(sorry “east side” guys but there really is no east side). They knew wheee halsted was or 79th cottage or Fullerton. Guys and girls that could handle themselves. This new department is full of liberal college kids from the burbs that don’t know shit about the real world. The worst ones are the ones that get sent to 019, 018, etc that won’t learn what reality is. MAYBE the ones assigned south and west will figure it out
This guy probably not the first one and won’t be the last one either. Unfortunately, I’ve already seen my fare share of snowflakes. There is this turd in 009 on 3rd watch, who managed to pass thru all 3 cycles without knowing how to write one mover or parker (probably a case report too), who watches cartoon on youtube the whole tour, never drive not to mention pull over any obvious traffic violation, who doesn’t even get out of the car when his partner is conducting a street stop, who doesn’t talk to anyone and let his other half do all the work, who stands at the main door way while other POs are clearing a house. And the list goes on...
If PPOs can demand their FTOs, same should go for POs, who eventually gonna get stuck working with them without the FTO paid.
Just watch your own back guys, because when push comes to shoves, they are just gonna hide. Just like working 99 with a baby strapped on your back.

Young “European” officers who have zero life experience should not police the inner-City right away. They’re entering a world they do not understand.
It's the same story I have heard with every recruit class going back 15-20 years until a new class comes out. There will always be pre-madonnas and people with no business being on the job. Fortunately, this is a small percentage of the actual number.
I cannot say today that I would fault a recruit from looking into the background of their FTO. Yes, back in our day, a few CRs was a badge of honor. Today? Not so much. And every old timer on this job has had to work with someone who was a walking time bomb when they were a PPO, so just admit it.
I was very fortunate to have been assigned a stellar FTO when I was a recruit. But on the days )or should I say, midnites) when he took an exta night off on time due because he hated them, I worked with some real losers, hoping that by the time my FTO returned to work that I'd still have a job left.
Anyone today who isn't concerned about mounting numbers of CRs (sustained or not) in their personnel file is more than a little soft.
My dad came on the job in 1959 and retired in 1989. In 1976 when I came on, he offered me this piece of knowledge. "If you never, ever, draw a CR#, than you're not doing your job". Meant not to run wild and amuck, but, to do the job properly, sometimes you ruffle some feathers. I don't know when this advice was stopped being taught from Cmdrs. on down to the troops. I retired in 2008. In 32+ years I was the recipient of numerous CR's, but never took a day. Lost some time, but never a day. My point is please be careful, No one has your back any longer. It's another dark day in a once proud department when the new kids can dictate who can train them. God Bless all the troops, especially the guys with 20+. Get out ASAP.

This is the tip of the iceberg, Snow Flacks are just part of the new recruits coming on. They've been not only brain washed by the Academy, but by the media, liberal politicians and nutty professors. Lets not forget, there are recruits with criminal records in this group. Someone new on the job and making judgements about coppers CR numbers and making demands is telling from the get go. I'm not being judgmental about the new bees, but caution is the way to go with real new police.
Wisdom and knowledge passed on to younger, inexperienced cops by those who earned a few CR's over the years has doubtless saved some lives.

Why people become cops? 40 years ago I sat on a hiring board, back in the days when you could ask questions not scripted by HR. I asked this guy why he wanted to be a cop. He gave me the best answer I ever heard.
He said that was a veteran, he was married with three kids, and worked as a body and fender man. He explained his elbow was wearing out. He checked our pay and benefits and thought this job would mean a world of difference to welfare of his family. He went on to say that he worked hard every day, that he did the best job that he could every day, and if we hired him he would do the same for us. None of this "I want to give back to the community" bullshit.
Willy worked for the department 35 years and retired as deputy/dog handler. He did everything he said he would.
Probably wouldn't get hired today, but either would I, and most good street cops.
He was also a good guy to know if your patrol car got a little dent.

There were tender liberal softballs back in the 80’s and ever since.
Every District had one Do-Good bellyacher on the Watch that had a bit too much compassion.
There was always a speculation that IAD-OPS had brainwashed marginal recruits caught that were jammed up, persuaded to report on particular Districts, and then some are just naturally narrow minded unsolicited tattletales. Goes with the turf.
The Academy under CabCalloway/Special Ed, is more than ever filled with communitay activists and not police officers per se.
They don’t churn out hard chargers, which is one reason they didn’t want police family recruits unless connected, another is the how to build peace circles is another.
After a few months in feral Chicago, most ppo’s get the overall message and seen otherwise blind liberals “change” their tune.
Some are just here for a decent steady paycheck, a little tuition relief or expect to be tender non confrontational house mice one day.
By the book until the training cycle is over...is not too much to expect of someone who volunteers became an FTO.
Take the good take and the bad, but nothing’s better than not having to deal with a liberal twit.

Sheee it! I had 2 FTOs. Both were razor sharp with paperwork. One was an old Vietnam vet.he was the greatest tactically safe officer I ever saw. Problem is....a police officer comes from modern society and the current environment. You have to want to help people. Yes , it’s a job. But, it s a calling too. The city wants a warmer, fuzzy police department... and the criminals love it and grow stronger and bolder everyday.

Obviously you have to consider if this Recruit is even being properly trained at the Poleec academy--- note, I don't have much faith to even call it training that goes on there. The only thing I have learned there-- use a shit ton of bleach when cleaning the shitters, thank a lot cleaning staff
Just make sure some of these guys actually are cops. Lets not forget the impersonator who brought in more activity then the entire watch and the partner who didn't even realize he wasn't on the job, Priceless!
Cr numbers DON'T make an officer a bad office. Remember, anyone can get a Cr number on a police officer. Cr numbers have to be proven against the police officer. Stay safe and get home safely.

These kids today just have no common sense at all. They don't think independently, they wait and watch for you or another officer to take charge or take over. They don't know how to search properly at all, they don't know how to write paper... well we don't "write" anymore. These kids are walking ?? Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty kids!! And if I hear one more kid tell me when he has "pribable cause" I'm going to slap him or her. Safety is is paramount on this department and this job!!! In case anyone hasn’t noticed Rahm has been hellbent on destroying Chicago in every way possible. He can’t have a good function police department. He needs to destroy the police in the eyes of the public in order to continue to succeed in making Chicago crumble. Does anyone remember when Daley left and he sold off the streets to the Meyer company and the city was cash positive for once? We came in second in being a world class city to host the olympics. Then Daley retired. Rahm actually took over the city then and look what he has done to the city. He has turned parts of it into a third world country with the violence and now he stands with the illegal immigrants over the American citizens.
My suburban department failed several recruits over the years who later were hired by CPD. They went on to positions in Tac and allegedly became successful CPD officers. CPD training is pathetic, which you guys regularly state is true. Your recent CPD high profile videos prove that. Making CPD Tac is also not that special anymore, according to what you guys state on the blog.
Busy suburban departments have better trained officers. The recent BGA article about police shootings in the burbs shows that the suburban departments have just as much much shit going on as CPD. Give me a Cal City, Dolton, Chicago Heights, or Riverdale officer over a new CPD recruit any day of the week. Any of those busy suburbs have better all around trained officers than CPD.
003 midnights is filled with the kinder gentler police. Young guys and girls who should be working at Starbucks and acting like they’re in high school. The 06 cars are whiny 2 year wonders and an ass kissing f-2 who was a bar tending badge bunny before she got otj.

I gots 24yrs on and still don't know how to look up shit on these new computers, haven't really done any work in the last 6 yrs and yes still pushin a beat car in 007 on evil midnight's. I'm beyond FETAL in this new world of being the police. I think were just run by a circus and were the clowns in it....So don't get you're panties wet because some old timer is asking a real question. U new guys don't even have a clue on how old policing was effective against criminals and I'm talking about legit arrests, not the type off arrests that are being conducted today by two year wonders in plain clothes or even uniform officers railroading honest workers with long-forming them. Nothing wrong with the ghoul pool. Coppers have a sense of humor that citizens don’t get and that’s fine. The new snowflakes who think it is insensitive will either grow to understand it of forever be miserable.
Busy suburban departments have better trained officers. The recent BGA article about police shootings in the burbs shows that the suburban departments have just as much much shit going on as CPD. Give me a Cal City, Dolton, Chicago Heights, or Riverdale officer over a new CPD recruit any day of the week. Any of those busy suburbs have better all around trained officers than CPD.

Not a troll.. actually us older dinosaurs, really do not know how to find this shit on the computers. we actually did police work with out computers. Came on with a wheel gun and drove the box chevy with the gumballs... you must be one of the new hair gel douche bags, that of course know everything... we used to hit the streets with our hat, which held the daily bulletin, a couple of reports, our maglight, radio and 18 rounds of 158+P. No computers in the cars or any of this other modern technology.

Oh, it is true they had to move him off of 3rd because he got his balls busted so bad he only lasted about three weeks. He then told everyone that Escamerit was going to break the guys on 3rd watch. As far as a blanket C.R., I think he wanted to or threatened one but it has been a year and no one has been served with one. The guy is a complete idiot and a danger to those he works with
Not surprised at all. The recruits don’t even have to take POWER tests while in the academy anymore!! No wonder why I see all these new PPOs coming to the district overweight and out of shape!! Wtf is going on at the academy?!?
I remember when I was a PO being assigned to work with PPOs who were off their ten weeks and showed promise. My job was to get them a gun pinch a CR and a 501 so they'd know how to handle them for most it would be the only 501 of their career, but most later told e they appreciated the other two
