The city of Seattle has tried lots of stupid things, including trying to levy a tax on high income earners ($250k single/$400k married) and the courts told them to go fuck themselves with a cactus. Seattle also has a genuine socialist on their city council, who makes Ed Burke seem reasonable.
Meanwhile, their attempt to raise minimum wage to $15 an hour is going just as you'd expect.

But yes - it basically is Cook County West. Their cost overruns for things like their light rail and the viaduct replacement tunnel, and wanting "free community college" for everyone and other dumbass things are the reason why Amazon started looking elsewhere. And real estate there is out of control - when it makes the Gold Coast/Lincoln Park look inexpensive, then you know you're fucked.
Having said that, Seattle PD was nice and professional when I lived out there.
Liberal Democrats are job killers. Just look at Chicago, Crook County, and the rest of Illinois. Everybody is fleeing this shithole if at all possible.

The council has nine members with one voting no, another not present. Everybody involved is a democrat, and one further identifies as a Socialist Alternative (Trotskyist Marxist).

Let’s just hope Toni learned her lesson. Even if it had stayed she would never have reached the taxes projection. With people leaving the county to save on that tax, they would have made other purchases costing the county those tax dollars

My thoughts exactly.
If retailers would list prices that would be WITHOUT the layers and layers of taxes and regulation compliance costs - including 15 dollar minimum wage - the people would be revolting against the corrupt communist progressive liberal democrats that have imposed this garbage upon us all. It would take less than two weeks of full listings.
Oh, and if ALL taxes and ALL fees and ALL payment demands applied to EBT, we would be involved in a civil war 2 in five seconds.
