Crime? What Crime?

Prickwrinkle plays dumb over Dart's tossing her under the bus:
  • Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle on Monday disputed Sheriff Tom Dart’s recent assertion that public safety could be compromised because hundreds more gun suspects have been released from custody on electronic monitoring since bond overhaul measures took effect last fall.

Dart’s own data don’t support his warning, said Preckwinkle, who emphasized that many of the defendants in question face charges of gun possession, not necessarily a violent crime.

“I believe it is our responsibility to keep these matters in context and not contribute to sensationalizing them,” Preckwinkle wrote in a letter dated Monday to Dart.
If the rumors are correct, Dart is about to be the subject of a rather embarrassing media piece regarding the number of people on EM that he has no idea where they are and the alarming recidivism rate of hundreds of others. Toni obviously hasn't seen the carjacking numbers, robbery numbers, CSA numbers. Yes, homicides are down, 20 or 30 from last year. But carjackings continue to skyrocket and most are committed with guns.

Still. it's great to see the County in-fighting.

UPDATE: Here's some of the crime Toni doesn't seem to see:
  • On February 2, Delonte Sawyer received probation for beating and robbing a man in Boystown last year. Eleven days after receiving probation, he beat and robbed another victim in a CTA pedestrian tunnel downtown, police say.

Sawyer, of the Grand Crossing neighborhood, was one of four men who robbed the victim underground at 200 South State Street around 7 a.m. on February 13, authorities said. He was arrested late last week after someone recognized him in a police department community alert.
Same old same old.

Not to defend Preckwinkle but lets remind everyone who started this mess.

Dart said electronic monitoring could be a valuable ''relief valve'' to reduce overcrowding in the County Jail. Sheriff Dart blamed Chief Judge Timothy Evans for not taking steps to reduce the Jail population. Archived Tribune Article, November 08, 2007.

How does this woman function on a daily basis? What reminds her to breath every couple of seconds, since she clearly doesn’t have a brain. If she somehow gets re-elected, along with that back of a sheriff then we all may as well turn our badges in because this city is hopeless if it’s residents are that blind.

Its so nice to see to idiots fight it out. Preckwinkle and Dart's political careers have both gone in the abyss and they blame each other. Dart don't pursue your lawsuit to salvage your personal reputation. It really does not matter at this point. You, Kimmy and Toni are going to be remembered for turning Chicago into Detroit. The damage is already done. You failed

Don't blame it all on Dart, or his friends at the County like Preckwinkle or Kimmy. A lot of it comes right back to our Mayor, and the fact that he sat on the McDonald tape, which rendered the police to be useless. It's all four of them. Vote each and every one out.

Maybe the media can also ask why Dart disbanded his Central Warrant Unit, which was responsible for and successful at apprehending those that cut their bracelets and all other warrants. Maybe the media ould also like to ask why Dart eliminated the Sheriif's Office participation in the US Marshal's Fugitive Apprehension Units, the only major county in the country to do so. He doesn't want tne responsibility and liability of housing inmates.

I just don't get how guns are the root of all evil for libs, yet they consider possession of a firearm a non violent offense.

At this point it would probably be easier for Dart to say who they CAN account for. EM is a total joke.

Uh uh, did taxwinkle just paint herself into a corner? According to her logic, mere possession of a firearm (and ammo we would presume) does not automatically connote "violence," or violent intent. Therefore, as long as the individual does not actually engage in violent criminal behavior at that moment (even though a "CRIMINAL" in possession of a gun equates to a high probability of violent outcomes), there is no corrolation between firearms and violence. Ergo, the justification for her firearm / ammo tax is faulty (cum hoc ergo propter hoc) especially as it relates to law abiding individuals (just as it was faulty when applied to sugary beverages . . .). Wasn't she supposed to be an intelligent school teacher, or something. . . Perhaps this would justify a repeal of another useless, politically driven tax.

Dart was declaring a State of Emergency when the inmate POP hit 9,000 in even though his predecessor Sheahan had over 13,000 on numerous occasions. Now its all imploding and he's throwing Evans and Preckwinkle under the bus. And of course the media gives their golden child Tommy a pass on all this.

"Preckwinkle, who emphasized that many of the defendants in question face charges of gun possession, not necessarily a violent crime."

So guns don't contribute to violent crime?? I wish these liberals would make up their minds.

A gun charge alone may not be a violent crime, but to brush it off as if it was irrelevant to violence and other crime is wrong and irresponsible.

This is archived 2003 article when Chief of Staff Tommy Toupee Dart and Billy Rocket Docket Cunningham was policy advisor to former Sheriff Sheehan. They said they rather put inmates in tents than release violent criminals onto the streets. Both the two clowns stared emptying the jail years later cause they were eying higher office, pandering to the lawless communities. Ironically, their little experiment backfired and they might not even keep their current offices. Word in Cunningham State Senate position is in big trouble and the Beverly/Mt. Greenwood community is pissed.

Sheahan announced that he has military surplus tents to house inmates this summer in case the inmate population reaches 12,000. There are now 11,298 inmates at the jail, approximately 1,500 more than it can hold. Still, it is a short-term solution since the tents would hold only 300 more inmates.

Last week, Ryan announced he may release nonviolent drug offenders early to cut costs and help solve the state's current budget crisis. Two-thirds of state prison inmates are from Cook County. If some of these are released early, it's likely they would return home and possibly get arrested again, said Bill Cunningham, Sheahan's spokesman.

"These aren't guys who had a joint in their ashtray when they got pulled over," Cunningham said. "These are individuals with lengthy criminal records so there's a likelihood they'll commit new crimes."

And the problem impacts every honest person in this city.

Someone asked for a race card, so here we go:

Good afternoon, and what a beautiful day it is as La Salle Downs gets ready for the 77th running of the Chicago Corruption Classic. Betting windows will be open for the next 12 months, so place your bets!

In lane number 1, sponsored by Maker's Mark and in CPD blue livery we have Gerry's Folly. A one-time sensation on the east coast circuit, Gerry's Folly has had trouble going the distance and has a lot to prove. A win here would payout big at 80:1.

In lane number 2, sponsored by Southwest Airlines and in brown and gold livery we have local legend Lucky Loco Lopez. Some good runs on the smaller tracks, but still nothing to show for his time with the big boys. Paying out at 54:1.

In lane number 3, sponsored by Coca-Cola is a filly named Toni's Trouble. She has had some controversial races, but her owner/trainer Mike Madigan thinks this could be the big turnaround in her career. A win would payout at 62:1.

In lane number 4, sponsored by the DNC and the Obama Family and wearing the pink livery, we have Tiny Dancer, who has always done well on this track. Payout is 9.5:1.

Hey SCC, the biggest joke is the Defendant receives credit for time served while at home on EM. No one probably knows about that though. That needs to be aired out and addressed. Nothing like receiving credit for prison time from the comfort of your home.

Writing letters gets action.

PrickWanker is a liar.
Co-conspirator in the War on Police.
Dart suddenly becomes the mouse that roared.
Both are poised to win another dreaded term.
The recently released Violent Feral will return the favor, perhaps waking up early and voting PrickWanker, maybe that irks Dart.
I still think Dart is throwing Fioretti a talking point bone, albeit late.
PrickWanker is sitting mighty confident, some may say uppity and will continue her arrogant biased behavior after the election.
She has Rahm by the velvet cotton balls.
Neither will bash one another when it comes to the skyrocketing violent crime.
They need the votes.

There's absolutely no way to rid Cook County of PrickWanker other than to vote her out on a Democrat Ballot and select cranky bitter Fioretti, the lesser of two evils.
Splashing her with water didn't work and rarely rides her broom anymore.

There are No Republican candidates representing Cook County and Illinois on the March 20 Primary.
Ives is a government pension buster and looking to change the rules.
Rauner (D/R) is pro-police but a Sanctuary supporter, hates Madigan but may tax pensions.
Ericka Harrold is an overflow Democrat who found room on the Rep. ballot for Atty General.
That's it.
Voting for marginal Democrats could possibly open up viable Rep challengers to come out in the future.
Think and consider a Democrat ballot on March 20 and oust Preckwrinkle by voting for anybody else.

Fioretti isn't ideal, but compared to Preckwinkle, this is a no brainer. Preckwinkle is possibly the worst and most destructive thing to ever happen to this city and county and she must go in order for anything else to improve. She is a racist of the first order and she hates the police and she seeks to empower criminals based simply upon the color of their skin. By the way, she never says that too many "people" are in jail - she only says that too many "black and brown" people are in jail. Apparently there are too many black and brown people but not enough white people. Ridiculous. Criminals of any stripe belong in jail, not left out on the streets to terrorize law abiding people. And, by the way, since the average population of the jail is 5000 fewer per day than a year ago, there is the $260,000,000 million in savings? Do the math: whats 5000 x $143 x 365? $261,000,000!!! Where is it???
