More Manpower Cuts
- Chicago is the canary in the coal mine for America's big cities as civil order slips away. The presumption that life can be lived without constant fear of violent predators is already gone in gang stronghold neighborhoods, where murder rates shock the nation and the world.
The combined force of the police and judiciary, hobbled by federal scrutiny of police tactics and a bail system so weak that it is informally known as "catch and release," is simply laughed at. Cook County jail is "out of control," and a gang leader enforced a reign of terror there. Only last week, Chicago's top cop admitted that criminals think the police and judiciary are "a joke."
Police powerlessness was convincingly demonstrated when police were unable to stop a thousand-strong gang party that disrupted a neighborhood for hours last summer. The angry and violent men enjoying success on their home turf are not content to leave alone the rest of the city, with richer pickings. The emboldened criminal class got the message: car-jackings are spreading into affluent neighborhoods.
And now, via CWB Chicago, the locally focused website that chronicles Chicago's worsening crime, comes the news that violent crime in Chicago's Loop has skyrocketed 97% over the past five years, while Mayor Rahm Emanuel has cut the number of cops patrolling it by almost 8%.
We're having doubts that Rahm can get anywhere near the numbers he promised citizens. But will it cost him the election?

This is what policing on the “cheap” gets you. Lots of blame to go around too. The real” dreamers” are walking around like zombies.. ignoring reality. They only get worked up when they hear trump speak.
Rhamicide should have no problem losing the election all on his own.
I hope to see an organised push from the Police and Fire unions to get this guy out of here before normal Law abiding citizens are not able to walk the streets without fearing for their life. People of Chicago we pay stupid amounts of taxes on every conceivable thing we do. Shouldnt we be safe to walk the streets ? Isnt that the most important thing we have to focus on ? What good is a planter in the street if you cant walk down that street ? Our kids are taught by a Union led by communists. They have no chance to compete anymore. This has to be stopped and it starts with the mayor, the county and the state. We have to organise to get these so called Democrats out. What have we got to lose ? How much worse can it be if Madigan, Rahm, Preckwinkle , Berrios etc etc are not controlling the corruption ? Time to get out and VOTE these lowlifes out. Tomorrow will be too late. It has to happen now or there wont be anything left to save. We need law and order above all else right now. Lets work together i. Whatever way we can to get rid of this cancer. I agine how bad it will become if this Pritzker clown gets in.

The essential truth of: Kill or Be Killed, is, by design of creation, intrinsically good.
Unless one welcomes death, to continue to not die requires effort more certain than complaining.
Politicians, being, by definition, the users of others, have as their base purpose their own avoiding death. No other purpose or intent do they have within their conniving natures.
All attentions being directed to this manpower of law enforcement deficiency is mere distraction from essential truth.
Live and Let Live only minimally works when all are of this same intent, and only when food, fresh water, shelter and neccessities are consistently available to all.

We are all "dreamers" we dream of rahm being taken away and a sign on his office "in custody" this is the same man who ruthlessly took away the health care from retired police officers,a promised benefit for serving all these years,and many being hurt in the process, this so called ballerina they gave away millions and millions to illegal criminals, even going so far as now with his friend the young girl anna he placed in the city clerks spot to now give away freely Chicago ID cards to the illegals which will allow them free or and reduced fares,and admission to Chicago attractions, so the criminals have more rights that police right rahm?
Why do you think our detective unit has what a pathetic 18% clearance rate? whose to blame? Village of Oak Lawn (Little Chicago) wins annual "Noisiest Town in USA" Award, with over 100 noise related disturbances average, daily. Non stop Ambulance wailing into Christ Hospital at all hours, Metra and Freight Train horns blowing constantly, constant traffic jams, construction equipment blaring in early morning hours, no muffler motorcycles all summer long, and drunks partying in backyards, beer gardens and patios in good weather. Leftist Village Leaders do nothing as residents property values plunge. Word to the wise, Do Not buy property anywhere near this area. You will regret it.

Manpower, funding and lack thereof will be directly blamed on the White House.
Jugghead was tasked seeking the Fed to help with violent feral youth crime, if it fails to produce a real effect, it’s on The POTUS not Rahm, PrickCanker or KimmJong.
Ineffective local Multi-Merit management will never be held accountable, so long as they do their part and play Rahm’s game.
Rahm knows he can quickly empty HQ of house mice, disband a Unit or two and give the folks a nice optical illusion of 3-400 more “boots on the ground”. (School officers exempt, for now). He’s done it before as did ShortShanks. Saves money for Sanctuary programs and in less than a year, tender house mice return to the nest and strike force style units are reorganized.
It’s way too late for Rahm to launch PlayDoh Jugghead the weak, ineffective dolt just weeks before his final year to compete for a nice Gold Braid in 2019.
Rahm is comfortable with the level of murder and shootings.
So much in fact the late rollout of his Sanctuary City ID should be making it easier for voter fraud and further protections for law breakers in the coming season.
It’s apparent that under Rahm Emanuel’s crime policies (moving along the lies of Restorative Justice movement) the criminal element is just Junior Varsity (a maintained 1400 or so on a famed SSL) and nowhere near elimination, just hidden.
If there’s any manpower concern it certainly isn’t with the CPD.

^LT once told me not to worry as much about the felony review or probable cause, he also said not to worry as much about the general orders and that he would have my back if anything went south. He must have been high at the time he made that statement.

Police are not powerless the police just want to stay off the dishonest media radar,and don't want to lose everything they have acquired and be sent to jail as they have a kangaroo style court hearing with judges who are given that position after bowing down to the democratic committeeman to get that spot,and to do what ever they have to do to keep that position, you will never get a fair trial here if your a hardworking police officer,you will however be run through a chainsaw and then run over by multiple buses as you and your family is destroyed,as the elected meet with their media compatriots drinking the expensive wine and cheese provided by Chicago taxpayers!

Rahm closed three police districts, two detective areas and eliminated over one thousands police spots. He plays politics with the safety of this city. He created COPA which is currently on a search and destroy mission to take out coppers and justify itself.
The rest of the city, county and state politicians made people believe that the police are the problem and called for transparency and police reform everywhere. Amongst other things, they made ISR's law for simple street stops.
The Dept wrote all the general orders so that ALL the liability falls on YOU and some so vague and confusing that you get different answers from different supervisors when you have questions about them. The Dept would rather focus on ideas like de-escalation and other hands-off tactics les someone's feelings get hurt.
The Cook County Sheriff and judges want the jails empty. Can't afford bail? No problem. No such thing as truth in sentencing here. And the juvenile justice system is the biggest joke. Hint: unless it's murder, there is no punishment real punishment for these kids and even sometimes in those cases as well.

You can blame Rahm all you want, but it’s also a question of manpower allocation which falls upon the brass. You don’t need all these secret squirrels and gun teams saturating 007 & 011. While you’re at it put the task force Officers in the blue suit and have them working the Loop and Gold Coast. It’s not a panacea but it’s a step in the right direction.

Can’t say I feel all that bad for the citizens. I’ve just had so many bad experiences that I can’t ever put it all on the line again - I can’t actually believe the stupid risks I’ve taken in the past to arrest shitheads or help citizens. Bare minimum unless it’s to help a copper in an emergency or 10-1.

Who’s worried about manpower. We have plenty if we can afford to move this many officers to implement body cams. You push it on and off. I learned my Go Pro camera in 15 minutes. 100 officers translates in over 8 million dollars to implement body cams. All while in the same article Ed states the districts are short. I wonder why
100 training officers were assigned to the police academy to accommodate the conveyor belt of classes being hired each month. Yet another 100 officers have been dedicated to “reform efforts and body camera program implementation
One important fact that seems to have been left out of the "thousand person party" you occasionally bring up here, SCC, and it occurs to me that this same element presented itself during that out-of-control beer blast at Montrose beach; officers on patrol saw what was happening well before those incidents reached havoc stage, and instead of breaking it up, took no initiative, chose to ignore it.
