Shooting
- A Chicago police officer shot and seriously wounded a man who pushed an officer during a traffic stop and then ran off in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side Sunday night, authorities said.
The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
Officers with the Area South Gang Team were conducting a narcotics investigation when they pulled over a car in the 4200 block of South Ashland Avenue just before 8 p.m., police said.
When the officers directed the occupants to get out of the vehicle, one man pushed an officer and started running toward an area where several tractor-trailers were parked. The officers followed and one of them fired a weapon, striking the man, police said.
No officers were reported injured.

Glad the coppers are ok but this is what happens when this administration allows - hell, encourages - guys with less than 5 years on the job to go to "specialized" units to play police.
Younger, no-time-on-the-job impressionable newbies + stupidvisors pushing for numbers in an activity-driven unit = problems. Always. Problems that will surely haunt the PO's for years to come while the white shirts quietly wash their hands of the mess and bail when things go south.

OFF TOPIC: Long-time reader, I've a question: There was a shooting at the Bridgeport Unique Thrift store in Bridgeport mid-afternoon on Monday. Someone shot into the Unique storefront at least two times. There are two bullet-holes in their window-glass storefront. Someone could'v easily been hit. This is a busy strip shopping center, and one patronized by a diverse community of shoppers, speaking both ethnic-racially and socioeconomically. Is Bridgeport/Halsted becoming an unsafe place too?

Im pretty sure any real policeman who refers to another policeman as a CLOWN, is the real problem with the whole department.

So I posted on this blog right when Cmdr. Bauer was murdered and it wasn’t allowed by the administrator for whatever reason.
So I’ll try again.
Some of you guys with this bullshit about remaining fetal and what a cop out way for you lazy, dog asses to continue what you’ve been doing your whole career. Now this situation could’ve happened to anyone; midnight beat car, days traffic car, etc. This guy was doing his fucking job and you have the balls to post on the blog anonymously and talk shit. You know where the guy works and I’m pretty sure you can find out who he is to be able to say a few words to his face.
Now these shitbirds walk around freely without any fear of consequences from our justice system. They’re walking into your neighborhoods robbing, burglarizing, car jacking and all that other good shit. As that’s happening most of you will bitch and moan on here about how this sucks and that sucks, but you never take any action. And then you’ll talk about how you used to be the real police and back in the day you were a stud and knew how to be the real police. But It’s guys like him that are needed out here on theses streets, guys that go out everyday and protect our families from the scum. Cause are you gonna do it? NO, cause you’re to busy bitching and moaning about life. Agreed as the copper is called into exempt and crews presence and told"30 days on the desk kid, we never told you be aggressive!" As the copper sits there and sighs, then goes home as his wife cries,and children are worried, then look in front there they are the dishonest police hating fake news media ringing the bell and pounding on your front door! Couldn't agree more and to add to your point, These neighborhoods (Back of the yards, Archer Heights, Gage Park, heck even Englewood North) are dumping grounds of all gangs that are being forced out off Pilsen. They gotta go somewhere and they're going south and southwest. Its the circle of life. What gets me about 009 is that its so political yet the politicians aren't doing anything. As long as these thugs dont go east of Halsted they dont care.
