Kind of Ironic
The Police Recognition Luncheon was held today. Someone recognized police cars in a not-so-nice way during the event:
- One person was arrested after smashing the windows of several Chicago police cars as officers attended an awards ceremony in the Loop on Friday afternoon, police said.
It happened on Lower Wacker Drive near Stetson Avenue, where the cars were parked, police said.
As the officers were inside the Hyatt Regency Chicago for the annual recognition ceremony, the suspect used a bat or bricks to demolish the front and rear windshields of one marked car and about six unmarked cars, police said.
It's so nice to be appreciated.

Still glad the department rewards officers based on merit.

Chicago on the verge of anarchy.
Just look at the leadership.
Shoot to kill/maim Daley vs. Sanctuary Emanuel.
Things were better back then because the CPD
ran the city and the criminals knew it.
Just waiting for the day when a squad gets carjacked
at gunpoint. They seem to have no fear. Something
tells me this anger and behavior is not drug fueled.
It's organic, it's growing, and the answer seems to be
a zero sum game. It will only stop when all the hijackers
are shot one-by-one. That's the way wars usually end.
It was just a normal kid acting like he would in the school yard.
The jamoke apparently thought it was still Tuesday.
The community is showing it's discontent with the CPD.
Offender in custody not yet charged. To those involved, this offender will sue you for false arrest after the Northwestern Innocence Project determines he din du nuffin and he will be awarded millions by the City. So write this up as damage to property non criminal as the vehicles were damaged by concrete chunks falling from the ceiling of the aging infrastructure of lower Wacker. You will help kill crime and avoid the hassle of going to court and getting sued. Yea that's the ticket!
As of late night Fri 5/11, according to WBBM News Radio, CPD is not identifying the culprit. Geez... is GoogleMe doing something right for a change ?
"It's so nice to be appreciated."
C'mon now, SCC.
There are plenty of assholes out there, but the majority of citizens DO support the police. They just can't be out there protesting in favor of police because like you, they're busy working, raising their kids, going to school, working a part-time job, etc.

Must have been bricks. Bats are not offensive weapons, totally harmless and incapable of busting out windows on cars or even human heads...
We'll start working on licensing bricks. Restricting purchases to one brick a year. Proper training will be required too. And no one needs a large brick - small bricks except for federally licensed brick masons. That'll fix this whole issue tootsweet!
Can’t believe they don’t have coverage to protect police vehicles during large events. Is it too hard to send the beat car over there? It is downtown you know. The event had been posted months prior. There should be security coverage at every event.
It happens all the time. It just made the news this time.
Probable in his mind he would get an award for smashing police cars.
They interviewed Lie-tenant Maryet Hall about it, and she acted like everything was just fine and dandy because the offender has mental issues. The same smiling dismissal of extensive property damage came from two other "NOBLE" bosses that were interviewed by their damaged vehicles. They talked about how it didn't bother them and that the person had mental difficulties. This mental specifically targeted police vehicles, and destroyed them with chunks of concrete or some other object that could easily be used as a weapon. What would've happened if an officer confronted this offender while he was committing his crimes? An armed mental who obviously doesn't like the police could easily turn his aggression toward anyone who confronts him. But let's just pretend he's some poor guy having mental difficulties, not the dangerous, armed criminal that he is. Not one single description of this person was even hinted at in the news story. At least we all know what that means. Shouldn't the public be made aware of a dangerous individual like this roaming around the supposedly nice area of the city, armed with a weapon, causing property damage? Isn't it highly likely this isn't the first time he's committed some crime due to his mental illness, or hatred for the police, or drug use, etc.? Isn't it just as likely that he'll do this or something similar again? Does his mental illness excuse him from all responsibility and magically make him not dangerous? Great reporting and great job by our "NOBLE" leaders to make this whole incident seem like nothing happened. Let's all hope his mental illness keeps him off the streets for a while. Wait, that doesn't happen. He's probably already back out there committing more crimes.
Gee...every time an offender commits a crime...lets see if they are mental? Take them to the hospital? wtf? What a fucking libtard city!
80% pension, free insurance, all the blunt I can smoke for life!
The unmarkeds got Recognized too
If they get caught The enemy in charge will release them with NO bail and then let them go for real.
I'll betcha some of the Homeless down there saw who did it......
Come on Eddie, they were just "funnin" right? Isn't that how you've dismissed criminal activity before?
But now it's personal!! And now you give a Fuck.. how about a big Fuck you for taking sooooo long to step up and recognize criminal behavior FROM A VICTIMS POINT OF VIEW. (But thank you for your attempt to appear tough on vrime)
Did you watch that Bruce Willis movie Death Wish hahahaha
Not looking good for the new Commander of 18. Who were the supervisors on the scene, did Northwestern drop the ball or did our OUTSTANDING 911 DISPATCHERS do it. I would definitely be on the phone with every politician and lawyer. Poor kids just minding thier business and these wielding posses can do what they want. Fucking Johnson should be fired and Rahm spanked badly. Strap some balls on, send 100 coppers from the so called elite units to inconvenience these little SAVAGES.
Someone tell those damn democrats criminals should be put in jail. I'd guess this is not the first offense committed by the honor roll student.J
J.J.
Hopefully we can get this person help and put him into one of those Cook County States Attorney 1st time offender diversion programs. Its just property crime. Its not a violent crime so its not a priority. Property crimes go unnoticed in downtown, sometimes not even reported, as we know.
Eight years of a President's contempt for American Law Enforcement, and a Mayor who sees the police as his Body Servants and Coat racks; so should we be surprised? Physical attacks against police are already on the rise, and in some cases police are afraid to use the appropriate force in response, you they become punching bags. This is nothing compared to what is going to happen when the fuse is lit. AND THE MEDIA, CITY HALL AND THE POLICE LEADERSHIP, WILL SIDE WITH THE ATTACKERS. COPPERS NO LONGER HAVE ANY FRIENDS. AND OPPORTUNISTIC LAWYERS AND DEMOCRAT PARTY POLITICIANS CREATED THIS. KEEP VOTING THEM INTO POWER. BABY "G"
Here’s your award and here’s your SPAR for your broken squad window. Enjoy.
How could that happen the Mayor and Fat Ed said downtown was safe. It is not safe for people nada now cars. Bet Kevin Ryan will have some explaining to do at this weeks meeting. Nice itsy Rahim.
They interviewed a boss about the broken windows on the news yesterday. My wife couldn’t see the TV but heard the comments and asked me, “Are they interviewing a homeless person?” I said, “No, she’s a commander.”
Ever notice all of the homeless living down there, wow make me a detective.
The real story is where was the mayor’s driver...
One can see the stressors which trigger a mental health crisis. You see the Russian collusion thing bombed out. The economy is rising up, people of color are finally getting those Joe Biden high tech jobs of the 21st Century and peace in the Korean Peninsula may result in this President getting a Nobel Prize for diplomatic actions not academic feel good participation trophy highlighting wordy platitudes like the last guy.
I would act-up against authority because prosperity, peace and a renewed pride in one's Country are very stressful and problematic. Who knows, the perpetrator may be responding to the bombardment of negative conditioned media falsehoods, fake news or indoctrinations against the police.
Or this may be a lone wolf jihad against police inspired by the hate groups doing business as the d.o.j., the aclu, blm and the many George Soros funded groups. Be safe out there and Make America Great Again!
That's good that they have replacements in our contract, short round was predicting the future as a one and done termer...
The citizens of Chicago support their police!!!
Yeah, right
This is truly a backwards world we are living in. Our departed members from the greatest generation are rolling over in their graves right now. But keep catering to these mutts, I do everything I can to use suburban stores and facilities anyway, less shit bags and degenerates to deal with.
Yet Rahm and AldTools allow the feral unwashed to continue to reside down there.
Maybe the Mechants Association should reconsider who should really run this City.
Nice down-under town Rahm.
DumpRahm-2019
Why should the words of a Chicago alderman have any value whatsoever, much less a hack reporter from a has been newspaper. ♠️
Seven squad cars were hit multiple times. Six of them belonged to unit 111 (Office of the Supt) and one was a district car. This all happened directly behind the Mayors car (with driver) and the Supts car (with driver). The case report was originally classified as "Non-Criminal Damage to Vehicle" but was later changed. They rushed the cars to 51st/Wenworth and fast tracked the repairs.
LieTenant Mayet Hall was quoted on the news as saying "he was obviously having a mental health episode".
He was a mental homeless. Taken to the hospital.
It sounds like the suspect has Chicago Values!
A racial hate crime occurred and the media/government cabal doesn't care.
No reason to write a report for CDP. That would increase the crime rate.
Make it an accidental damage from unknown debris. Officers were driving in on the expressway when a truck ahead "kicked up" unknown debris damaging the windshields on 7 police vehicles.
It's then the fault of the state too for allowing debris on expressways.
Why do we have to notify news affairs ? Fuck news affairs. The news media HATES the POLICE

Yes, I am shocked and amazed at the numerous ribbons some of these command people wear. They look like South American dictators and field marshalls. I am guessing that once you have a gold star other gold stars are always nominating you for some award for your progressive police programs, your punctuality, the fact you have not destroyed your city car in the last six months, have not dated a subordinate who is married and other numerous feats of leadership. But, few for real police work or valor. But, the public does not know this and they see your row upon row of ribbons and they think that you are a true hero and the best cop in the Midwest.
There aren't enough troops to watch things above ground let alone the subterranean lower levels. What would anyone expect.
One way to get a new ride. . He was just gloving his swing for the next wilding, when police car got in the way. Not his fault cars were parked in his space.

The response would have been much different had it been a lie-tenant's personal Land Rover, Mercedes or Lexus.
Yesterday, NBC news reported a suspect was caught. No name was mentioned. I also checked three other local stations...Again, the suspect's name wasn't reported. Why?

Why worry? Just have the car towed and a new one sent out for the exempts. They have plenty at the garages. Doubt they even thought twice about it
The floats at the Pride parade receive much more protection. Chicago values...
If the majority of the people support the police they have a funny way of showing it by electing those who get elected. People who appreciate the police can't accept the fact that they're in the minority. Get used to it Sanctuary State dwellers.
FYI. We are not mental health professionals. Arrest and charge with appropriate charges. It is not our job to determine competency. The courts do that.
The offender used large chunks of concrete. Wonder where those came from? Sure not the crumbling infrastructure of this city.
Seeing a few of the merit pics on the sgts list makes me want to cry for the future of this department. What are some of these bosses thinking????
The real story is where was the mayor’s driver...

If he had vacated the mayor's car to stop the offender, he would soon be reassigned for a lack of proper prioritizing. Did he at least notify OEMC of a CDTP in progress? Divulging 9.5's location is a big no-no. Their rules are not our rules. The detail only has two rules. Their rule #1 states TD 9.5 is the first priority, at all times. Their Rule #2 states if there is ever a question about priorities, see Rule #1.

Leo's had its own zip code.
Maybe the exempts could have had their driver or secretary stay with their cars.

That would be rude. Besides, they would never leave their date outside in the car.

The progressive liberal democrat Alinskyites oversaw
the shredding of the social services safety net by
Rahm and didn't say shit...
"Make the Cops watch a video for 'training,'
then shove that social service responsibility
on THEM to make it look like fucks are still
given by City Hall. And if The Cops dig in and
resist, we can say they're racist and insensitive."
When bean-counterism, unceasing aggrievement, political
correctness, political cowardice and social justice run amok
dictates municipal governance.
Who wrote all the paper on that, surely not the bosses. Why didn’t they have someone watching that area since so many CPD vehicles were in that decrepit part of downtown.
See what happens when you park illegally. At least Lincoln Towing wasn't called you would never get cars back then.
Wow! Those two drivers were really fetal. If true I’d be ashamed to face anyone.
.....but the majority of citizens DO support the police. They just can't be out there protesting in favor of police because like you, they're busy working, raising their kids, going to school, working a part-time job, etc.

It's 30+ years past "protesting" having any effect whatsoever.
That's because 3+ generations of breeding hate into the "community", the "constuency", the "peoples of color", the "progressive/regressive mentally ill", the "rabid revolting revolutionaries", and the like, has produced the intended result: a multitude of attitude juked, puppets jerked off and jizzed on by the puppeteer political panderers, aka, the fucking Democrats.
As for that "majority of citizens", whatever that means to you, the fact is that all of the factors you propose to be reasons for the absence of visible support are truly feeble, at best.
The true reason for everyone NOT a criminal to support law enforcement is that IS supporting your OWN self interests, like not being the victim of crimes.
A list of ways these purported majority of citizens could visibly and effectively support those who enforce the laws, (the laws which deter, impede, obstruct, reduce, actually effect by disruption, the criminals' opportunities to commit violent criminal acts, and/or criminal acts which, by their nature, are imbued with great potential to violence), can be provided, as they have been routinely provided, by the many who know what needs to be done. And how it can be done, were these "majority of" truly supportive of those who enforce the laws.
Too busy to act in their own, vital self interest?
You can pull your own finger on that one.
Seeing a few of the merit pics on the sgts list makes me want to cry for the future of this department. What are some of these bosses thinking????

The intent of an action is clearly indicated by the satisfaction exhibited in the result of that action.

I know of a very deserving beat officer/FTO who was not selected, but goofs with clout were. Very disheartening.
Uh, the two drivers were not with the cars. Oops.
