- An armed security guard associated with staunch anti-gun and nationally known social activist, Father Michael Pfleger, was arrested on May 27 outside St. Sabina’s Roman Catholic Church on the South Side where Pfleger is a senior pastor.
The Chicago Police (CPD) charged Henry Eugene Hale, 35, with possessing a firearm without a valid Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card. He was released on $150 bond.

See how they quoted and linked the blog? They saved themselves $50 in contributions to the Chaplain's fund and increased their personal credibility by giving credit where credit was due, i.e. not taking someone else's work and passing it off as their own (which would be stealing).

Off Topic: yesterday a friend who is retired went to the southside gun turn in, he is a male white. While standing in line with his turn in's a M/1 Sgt. came up to him in line and ask him how man he was turning in,he told him seven. Sgt. said two that's it. M/1 in front of him turns in 8 no problem. Friend walks up to turn them in and M/2 P.O. from the range who over stood his welcome there R.L. started to give him a hard time. A few questions: Why oh why would a Catholic priest need to have protection in the form of armed security? Is this 1980's El Salvador? Does Archbishop Cupcake have a violent temper which he takes out on his underlings? I think some people are reading the records from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation incorrectly.
It says this guy has 3 different license. one is his security guard firearms training. Another is his permanent employee registration. the third is a firearms control card.
the disciplinary action was against the permanent employee registration for being delinquent in child support.
the firearm control card indicates it was returned when he terminated employment, as it is supposed to be.
Was he hired through an agency or contractor?

Normally I'd support anyone caught with a gun who has no FOID card but is otherwise eligible to possess a firearm (the 2A should be permission enough) but since this hypocritical asshat pushes for even more draconian laws that affect only the law abiding I think he should rot in prison for this violation.

something tells me that you quite going to church regularly long time ago. But, that said, Gov. Quinn gave St.Phelger a million in anti-gang money before he left office. And, this priest gets plenty in private donations. He does not have to take a vow of poverty. I am sure he is doing well.What goes into the basket on Sunday's is for the upkeep of the parish. What comes in under the rectory door is for the priest and his private use.

No, what you did not realize is that your assinine expression of approval, of your conception of making an exception to that which you claim you believe in, would be received as having merit, which it does not.

That's exactly what I thought! Why the heck did I bother getting a FOID and a carry permit? Why do I burn gas driving all the way to a range to practice shooting, when everybody else in town just opens fire on the streets? Why fart around buying guns only from FFLs, and filling out 4473 forms?
If the penalties for violating gun laws are so lenient, it makes law-abiding shooters like me look like chumps! Laws don't seem to stand for anything anymore.
