This department is so heavy with upper level supervisors it’s sickening. All these Chiefs, Deputy Chiefs, and Commanders are ridiculous. When is someone going to do an audit so we can weed out around 10 Deputy Chiefs and 10 Commandets to start with. All these made up spots with inflated salaries are draining the cities funds.

Did I read that right. Head of IAD has a pay grade and rank of Chief. My god how many people work there. Obviously, rank has nothing to do with the number of people in your command. So, it’s about something else. In that case why not the rank of 1st Deputy Superintendent of Working personnel as opposed to 1st Deputy Superintendent of Inside personnel. The department just got itself two more clouted spots. Now wasn’t that easy.

Admin sgt from 007 asked not to be promoted since with his 100 plus hours of ot each period he makes more than a commander anyway.
Training has been in the top three problems for CPD. Numerous consultants and the DOJ has seriously criticized the lack of quality and effective training for recruits in inservice officers. Keith Calloway has been in charge of training for the last five years and has accomplished nothing while in charge of the academy. He is a very nice guy and does honor every political request to take care of friends and assign them to the academy. So, what is his reward for his hard work? A promotion. Who will replace him? Not a qualified exempt with a advanced degree to run training for a large law enforcement agency. Most heads of large academies a PHD or a EDD with extensive training background. Not CPD. They select a street wise boss without any experience in training.
We can only hope Keith Johnson will at least bring back discipline and standards to the academy. Calloway never believed in discipline for recruits. Sorry for the rant.
Diversity is a one way street! It’s “their” turn now.

Been on the job for 27+ years. This is the worst I have ever seen it. All they talk about is who is in what fraternity and that we have to get more promoted from our fraternity than the other. But for being the "Accidental Superintendent"-----"I never applied for the job", he is making sure the future of this Department is going down the shitter. A few years back they had a few good officers working in junenile court that looked out for the officers. Not many were written up and on a few occasions, one went out of his way to help my partner and me

Well, The Chicago Fire Dept rumors have Jose Santiago turning 63 Sept 3, 2018 and retiring on Sept 1. The mayor has already said NO to Jose coming back as a civilian. Look For First Deputy Richard Ford or Deputy District Chief Nance-Holt (Yes, Blair Holt's Mother) to get the nod.
