Swamp Grabs Another Name
- Just days before Election Day, a political consultant filed a complaint Friday against Illinois Supreme Court Justice Anne Burke for her alleged role in a fundraiser for Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle.
Jeffrey Orr, the son of former Cook County Clerk David Orr, filed the complaint with the state’s Judicial Inquiry Board, arguing that public statements by Preckwinkle and one of her advisers “have implicated Supreme Court Justice Anne Burke in potential violations of the Code of Judicial Conduct.” Burke is the wife of embattled 14th Ward Ald. Ed Burke, who is facing attempted extortion charges for allegedly trying to pressure a Burger King franchise owner to give Burke’s private law firm business.
A senior adviser to Preckwinkle previously told the Sun-Times the fundraiser held at the Burkes’ Southwest Side home in January of 2018 was “the result of a friendship between Preckwinkle and Burke’s wife, Supreme Court Justice Anne Burke.”
So Orr, son of Machine Clerk Orr, files a complaint against Machine Judge Anne Burke, wife of Machine aldercreature Burke for Ethics Violations by Machine Board President Prickwrinkle.

Is there corruption at the Illinois Supreme Court level? Here's one way to check it out. Look for and compare the donors for campaign contributions and certain MR orders on file with the Clerk of the Supreme Court in Springfield. Check out whether Supreme Court Justice Anne Burke ever issued an MR order to anyone who generously made a campaign contribution. Years ago, the going rate was said to be $10,000, but it has probably gone up.
Here's how it works. By statute, there are licensing restrictions against the admission of out-of-state attorneys under Supreme Court Rule 703(b) unless they graduated from ABA-approved law schools. Because there are out-of-state attorneys who know that Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and other states have issued waivers of the ABA rule, some have petitioned for waivers from time to time. The Clerk files them in a log book in sequence with MR numbers. In all cases, decisions were made without any written explanations. In some cases, without any explanations, the petitions were summarily denied. In select cases, however without any change in the non-ABA status of petitioning out-of-state attorneys, the petitions were summarily granted.
Years ago when the discovery was made, the responses were (1) we don't do that and we have never done that, and (2) we won't do that again. What are the odds that the elected members of the Supreme Court have permanently given up on that practice? Given her connection to Chicago politics, what are the odds that Justice Burke has never been involved in issuing MR orders to those who have also been interested in making campaign contributions?
You work all the years for your earned pension. One fact for sure, Bill Daley already stated he wants to change the constitution and change the pension benefits. By change he means lessen them. He wants to follow in Rahm’s footsteps. The Daley nephew was given millions of pension dollars which were lost and never repaid , except he and the investors got $9 million in fees as reported by the news, and still no one went to jail for that fiasco. Bill Daley lives in a $2+ million condo on the north shore , connected to Obama and supported by big businesses and that’s who he answers to . That’s who wants the pensions reduced.
Bill Daley is not an option if you want the pensions what they are. His idea is to change the constitution to force reductions. Believing that us wanting no change is greedy. He wants leverage to force workers hands. All along he lives off and enjoys his pension dollars, how ironic.

If there is any bit of self respect left in the media maybe they should take a look at Anne Burke's rulings and the benefactors of her rulings. No takers then how about the Ethics Board. I know - it's never going to happen. Besides Ed will get re-elected next week by the Ward minions and Anne (still shocked by hubby's federal allegations) will continue to make her rulings. The Burke's, another fine Chicago tradition making us all "Chicago Proud".
