If his name was Mel Reynolds, he'd be on his third or fourth prison stint:
- In a bombshell development, R and B superstar R. Kelly was indicted Friday on charges he sexually abused four victims, three of them underage, over a span of a dozen years.
Kelly was charged with abusing the one alleged adult victim in February 2003 — at the same time he was already fighting child pornography charges for filming himself having sex with an underage girl.
In a completely unrelated story, Crimesha Foxxx announced she was recusing herself form this prosecution because she owned at least three albums by the defendant, had seen him in concert twice and was waiting outside the stage door for an autograph about twelve years ago.
UPDATE: A spokeweasel for Crimesha has also related that the song "I Believe I Can Fly" was played on the office's Hold Music service and all States' Attorneys will be unable to prosecute due to this unfortunate incident.

I remember his first "trail" on related charges.
To call it a politically driven farce would be an understatement.
It took Cook County 6 years to bring it to trial and the prosecution was so weak that he was all but guaranteed to walk.
But that was before the "me too" movement began. Also the girls in the tape being bought off and proud to have been abused by such a "star" didn't help either.
I hope these girls and the parents that supported their "no snitching" position at the time enjoyed the money.

yes, but as I recall, the victim recanted and refused to testify. The video was murky and there was a question about the date the video was taken and the age of the girl at the time. But, it looks like this is different this go around, with better video, one taken 20 years ago and three victims who are pissed off ( and looking for the ghetto lottery most likely) and willing to testify.

The defense ranges from the reasonable ('Let's let the court system do it's work, innocent until proven guilty') to the moderate ('He has a sickness that he has chosen not to deal with- maybe now, he will') to the just plain stupid and bat stuff crazy (Alleging everything from 'This is just another racist conspiracy to destroy a successful black man who threatened them' to 'We MUST protect our successful black men!').
Tell me, folks..IF, instead of it being R. Kelly, rich, musical performer, etc. it was just some 50 year old guy who was videotaping and urinating on your 13 year old daughter- would you feel the same way?? If so, you have about as much sense as the kind of parents who would let their kids spend the night at Michael Jackson's house!!
While I DO believe that what consenting adults do in the privacy of each other is no government's, let alone anyone else's business, there is NO way to justify, allow, permit, or 'selectively ignore' what is alleged to be going on here.

I find in real interesting that Ms. Foxx has “reasons” to recluse herself from both of these high profile cases, I.e., Smollett and R. Kelly. Seems she wants to completely distance herself from both. Think these cases involve political risk, and she’s inoculating her political future by staying away from prosecuting celebrity black men.
