- On Saturday, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx appeared at Rainbow PUSH headquarters where she found some friendly faces after being derided for nearly two weeks over her office’s handling of the Jussie Smollett hoax hate crime case.
Yesterday, an assistant state’s attorney in Foxx’s office sent the following essay to CWBChicago to express a view from inside the prosecutor's office. We are publishing the piece in its entirety with permission. The author asked to remain anonymous because they are not permitted to speak publicly about department business.
The letter runs twenty paragraphs but reads quick. In it, the author pretty much destroys Crimesha's mismanagement of the Smellit case....and her entire office. As one commentator said, we don't know if the author has a big ol' set of brass ones or is bucking for a whistle blower lawsuit. Either way, it's one of the better take-downs we've read.

Two weeks later after ComStat as a reward for our raise in ISR numbers we are advised the Commander is concerned by us coming in too early and now wants us to go in 10-15 mins later. We find out further the Commander is watching our cars and does not give a care about the ISRs we have done.
I wonder how much the new mayor will appreciate when we bringing in goose eggs.
This Assistant State's Attorney letter was eloquent and veracious. She hit all of the salient points. Whomever you are, thank you for what you do every day ( maybe you should run for the office of State's Attorney!) and for writing this letter further exposing the political coruption that exists in this administration. It's not only State's Attorney Kim Foxx but the whole one party political system that festers in this City and County. Some of those who joined Foxx at the Operation Push meeting on Saturday were Congressman Bobby Rush, Cook County Clerk Dorothy Brown, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Attorney Flint Taylor and activist Ja'Mal Green. Those of us that are in the know are very familar with their backgrounds! Too bad the public is uninformed and apathetic to what is really going on here. We in law enforcement are frustrated beyond belief. Also thank you to Crime In Wrigleyville And Boystown and Second City Cop for printing the letter. Hopefully conservative sites like Rush Limbaugh, Dan Proft, Tucker Carson, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Judical Watch et. al. will give this some exposure.

Well that’s because in those 20 yrs AS A P.O. you wouldn’t be the person handling the murder, Agg Batt, CSA, etc.. doing the paper doesn’t count, the detective handles the investigation kid. She’s talking about interacting with detectives. As a detective in HGS for over 2 decades I can assure you an ASA on felony review spends countless hours with DETECTIVES doing everything she claimed in her letter.
Excellent reporting by CWBChicago. There’s something to be said for the fact that a Cook County ASA sought out the only legitimate news source in the city to publish the truth about the prosecutor.

ASA’s does go to crime scenes to get familiar with the area when the detectives are presenting their case, they also go to hospitals to talk to victims and/or offenders. They are usually accompanied by detectives.
It’s hitting national media too. THANK YOU CWB and SCC for reporting.
ASA here. When new of that letter broke, we were all quite pleased. The general sentiment at work is that most of the SAO does not stand behind Ms. Foxx’s actions in the Smollett case and surely don’t stand behind her inactions at Push this weekend.
The SAO is an utter mess. ASAs are worried about being demoted if they speak up. People are ready to leave and walk out. So many are like myself, a veteran ASA with kids and a mortgage. I can’t just up and leave my job. But a lot of us sure felt that we wanted to recently.
But one thing remains clear in all this. Those of us in the courtrooms we appreciate you. Every damn one of you. Sure, there are outliers, but the majority of us stand with you. The work you do day in and day out never ceases to amaze. Talk to us. We back the blue. Even when Foxx doesn’t. God bless every single brother and sister of yours putting your lives on the line for our city.

You must be new or really naive. First of all if a Sgt comes and asks for more activity in this climate I have a hard time believing that your watch, like little obedient kids, went out and got some ISR’s for the boss. The activity is to make your boss look good or to avoid getting his/her ass chewed at meetings. It benefits you in no way. I hope you learned tour lesson. Stay fetal.

Amen to that. How DARE the superintendent not dismiss any and all slurs against the department? Especially, but not withstanding, the facts of the Smellit case. Ladies and gentlemen, there are many fine citizens AND political wannabes in this city and across the country who stand with you, who appreciate you, who support you, and who have your backs. The only ASAs who are happy are the ones that drank the Kim Foxx Kool-Aid, sold their souls and got promotions. They all read this blog. They all know who they are. It's probably becoming pretty clear to them that they made a big mistake. The Joe, Jenny, Risa, Mariam's of the world to mention a few. As for the rest of the more than 700 ASAs, they are miserable and every one of them is biding the time until Foxx is indicted, resigns or is defeated in the next election. Look no further than the massive number of ASAs that have left the office since Boxx of Roxx took over.

Well, I guess your own personal experience is Absolute then, isn't it you little narcissist? I am a retired Detective and I have many a time gone out and interviewed victim's, witnesses, and offenders in hospitals, and in witness homes, and wherever the investigation leads. Ideally, it would be done at the Area, but that is not always possible.
Get some time on the job kid, before you make comments about what you have seen, or in this case, Not seen. It's embarrassing to the rest of Us. So keep your eyes open, and your mouth closed until you have learned that the world doesn't revolve around your experiences alone.

Years ago in a district far far away long before the ISR. Us beat slugs were informed that we worked until X time and that is when were supposed to come in the station. We were told we could not be in the station or the parking lot a minute before that. So we obliged our great leaders by everyone at checkoff having a late arrest, tvb etc. all of these were minutes before the new checkoff time and 15-20 minutes after the old time. Well after a two days of this and a pile of yellow slips in the front office the Sgt came to us and said you made your point. And everything reverted back to normal. Remember these ‘bosses’ need you a lot more than you need them. Stay strong stick together and your point can be made.

I met a few decent ASA on this job, most were legit AGG BATT to PO cases with injuries. They’ll show up, just not for the felonious retail theft cases. ASA have a boss they report to and take orders from, just like us.

This comment is directed to the assistant states attorney who wrote this letter. On behalf of all of the good, decent, and law abiding citizens of Cook county, I want to say thank you for all of your hard work and sacrifices. I know that there are more fine lawyers just like you in the states attorneys office that are very unhappy with the current political climate in the city, but are afraid to speak up. The silent majority of citizens support you. We need to return to the time when we had a justice system in this country and move away from the current movement toward having a “social justice” system. The law needs to apply equally toward all. Whoever you are, please consider running against KF in the next election.

The Cook County State' Attorney, has been dubbed as "Kim da Fixer" for good reason. She is motivated to "fixing" cases by cronyism, political influence, favoritism, the Rainbow folks, the glamour of Hollywood, and the clear appearance of racism. Added to this evil cabal the numb nuts local media, useful dupes and idiots masquerading as matchbooks reverunds, all add to the thinly disguised Social Justice and Restorative Justice charade. This is all designed early on by Big Tonie (the mayoral looser) and her incompetent puppet, Kim da Fixer.
Their focus all along was to clean out the jail of the minorities and put them back out on the street. Re-arrested felons and other criminals come back into the system, get placed in the Kin da Fixer's Social Justice program and get I-bonds, no bonds, ankle bracelet program half of which don't work or destroyed by the offender. Add to the street "Code of Silence" - No Snitches - and you now have the perfect Social Justice revolving door program.

Two weeks later after ComStat as a reward for our raise in ISR numbers we are advised the Commander is concerned by us coming in too early and now wants us to go in 10-15 mins later. We find out further the Commander is watching our cars and does not give a care about the ISRs we have done.
I wonder how much the new mayor will appreciate when we bringing in goose eggs.

As "Hey Jackass" reports, the Austin "Community Area" invariably leads all of the 77 "community areas" in Chicago for murders.
However, this is misleading. The huge Austin Community Area stretches all the way from Roosevelt Rd. to the Metra railroad tracks just south of the 25th District station and Grand Ave. The 15th District north border is only Division St. Thus "Hey Jackass" misleads naive readers that Austin (albeit the "community area") leads the city in murders.
IMHO, "Hey Jackass" should count crime consistent within the confines of the 22 police districts rather than the deceiving 77 "community areas".
The current and perennial annual leader in murders is the 11th District.

Hundreds are walking around, set free by Dart and other County Court administrators, and they're unaccounted for. Its too bad the County eliminated the "Public Guardian" position. Dart is an incompetent social worker who bumbled and bullshitted his way into the Sheriff's office. Never one to be afraid of biting the hand that fed him, Dart took about a year into office before he started trashing his predecessor, who dealt with thousands more inmates, without the need to feed pizzas, create studios, allow canine companionship in the jail and ran the office without complaint. And mostly, Sheahan never felt the need or the compulsion to let everyone know he was the brightest bulb in the room.
