Here We Go

  • Last month, a criminal case against a Hoffman Estates woman became tied to the legal drama surrounding Jussie Smollett when a judge, saying the situation “smells, big time,” asked why the woman was being “treated differently” than the actor by Cook County prosecutors.

And now the woman has acquired a new attorney to help her fight the felony charge of disorderly conduct for allegedly filing a false police report, the same crime Smollett was accused of in a 16-count indictment before charges against him were suddenly dropped.
Of course, the offender apologizes to Jussie for prolonging his turn in the spotlight. Her lawyer, whether you agree with it or not, points out the double standard for the connected and well-to-do.

The correct answer however, is punish everyone equally, not disregard the law. Crimesha has set a dangerous precedent.

Crimesha is an idiot. I still wonder how a moron like her could get elected and then I remember that this is crook county. Case closed. We're all doomed.

What happened to transparency?? Why are the documents sealed..us taxpayers should have access and knowledge of it. Start voting these judges out, I know I do every election. Rules dont apply to people who have money, power or fame.

Soros, money talks and shit rules. Shes a prime example of a pass through. More to come. Sadly, they'll keep reelecting her because it$s racist not to do so.

the SA’s office can no longer justify prosecuting class 4 felonies or misdemeanors (not that they did anyways)

Crimesha thinks like a ghetto hood rat. There are no long-term plans, just instant gratification.

Anyone with any knowledge has left, been asked to leave or been fired from the Cook County ASA’s office. Now all that’s left is Crimesha and her gang of incompetent yes-men.

If Toomin is indeed taking on the Smollett case I believe it's a good thing. I hear he's fair and upstanding. I can't see him giving Kimmy a free pass. Maybe that's why LeRoy passed it to him. I sure hope!

That Third district court at the time was the most strict I’ve been to, but that was some time ago.
It’s probably just as kangaroo as any First District inner city nowadays.
Not exactly the crime of the century in shitehole Hoffman, but no way comparable. Still broke the law.
Excessive punishment - stay employed, get an basic education and report to the court to document the progress.

In terms of case law, it should be applied - but Juicey Swoltitt wasn’t a criminal case to be compared.
It never set any precedent, only avoided it.
Nobodys criminal proceedings should be allowed to be compared or considered by a judge of all people, to determine the fate of a case.
That argument should have be stricken the moment it was uttered.
Idiotic and incompetent Cook Co judiciary.
Showboat defense continues to be allowed to make a mockery and promoted by these so-called judges.
Blames the public defender (i.e. ASA) for what Hon. Leroy Martin Jr. allowed to be dismissed in the first place.

Circus at Cook County, that prosecutor will be severely admonished, probably launched out to Markaham for retraining.

Slightly OT.....see what happens when you announce shoplifting is not punishable. Not Crook County but the same.

“Kerivan also made unsolicited comments during fingerprinting referencing the Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins and how he believed she no longer prosecuted shoplifting charges,” the officer wrote.

Our law has a basis in reasonableness. That’s how cases are decided with circumstantial evidence. I always made my decisions on the street thinking, what would a reasonable person think about my decision. That’s where times I came into a situation where the responsibility or pile of shit fell in my lap and I would say “what were you thinking?” If the State decides for an arbitrary reason, which this was, not to prosecute a crime then a REASONABLE person would say, that that crime cannot be prosecuted again. Precedence
