Death Penalty Case
- Police suspect a Southwest Side woman lured a young expectant mother to her home before the pregnant woman was slain and the child was cut out of her body.
Authorities said a body found in a garbage can early Wednesday in the woman’s backyard in the 4100 block of West 77th Place is that of the pregnant woman — Marlen Ochoa-Uriostegui, who was reported missing three weeks ago. They said the woman was strangled to death and ruled the death a homicide.
Some crimes are unforgivable, and this crime fits the bill. All four suspects should face the executioner and society should not be at risk for some bleeding heart politician to release them because they feel sorry for their crimes in the distant future. Their futures should be spent counting the days to lethal injection.

Savagely killed mommy and daddy of a newborn, took that baby and another child so another woman could have the newborn.
Kinda think that it was her relatives who notified police because they were skeptical of her story about the two kids.
That woman remains in jail, but the actual killers are out. Disgusting turn of events for all who were aware of this savage incident.
Prayers and condolences to this young woman's family. Yes, I know they were critical of CPD efforts, but I can understand their frustration at how slow the wheels of justice and Truth can be. Life is unfortunately not a TV show where crimes are solved in an hour. Glad to see CPD came through.

There would have to be a lottery to see where you get to stand in line. Since, the first couple dozen or so throws would probably not get good results. Live streaming of the event would probably surpass Super Bowl viewership.

All the Jerry Joyce fans need to quiz him on how he would handle this case - as far as I know he was the only mayoral candidate to be "flexible" about how he would handle sanctuary (he said he would defer to federal retainers/direction for certain investigations)

Forget lethal injection. This level of crime deserves drawing and quartering. Then burning of the remains. Televise the whole thing with a ticker on the bottom detailing what happened, and what the sentence is... Might get other J/O's to skip this kind of depravity.
That's not the first time it happens in IL. There was a case just like that 15-18 years ago, I believe. Those three fucks did receive death penalty, but it was later commuted by George "The Nobel Peace Prize candidate" Ryan.

i grew up in that neighborhood. it was great in the 60s, virtually no crime when it was all ww2 veterans raising families. now, not so much. viva diversity!

All these helpful proposals to torture and kill the accused. And yet no one will step forward and simply advocate a length of rope and sturdy overhanging fixed point inside every jail cell which would enable defendants to quietly self-terminate? Every incarcerated person deserves that assistance, rather than being subjected to so-called prison justice or forced to improvise some MacGyver-esque means of achieving their own oblivion. For goodness sake, give everyone behind bars the ability to conveniently and permanently opt out whether they are guilty or not. Shake off the reflexive desire to inflict suffering. If there is no longer a death penalty at law, then have a heart and help defendants voluntarily depart this life.
This crime is not unheard of. So I ask is this the first time they have done this?

I understand their frustration. Imagine the pain of not only the death, but how she died and the baby now brain dead aka dead. On the other hand we have Jackass Smellit case on the news 24/7 with 100 of investigators.

This is horrifying all the way around. That young woman being lured by monsters to take her baby. Just like a horror movie.
I've been watching the news coverage from the beginning and one of the first interviews with the mother through her interpreter she suggested the husband could be responsible. That he didn't treat her daughter well. Now the family has given several interviews complaining that they didn't get adequate service from the police because they are undocumented. I've read many comments on FB and overwhelmingly people are blaming the police for not doing more and most are saying it was the community that solved this with the help of social media. The police are smeared and come off looking lazy and biased. They say the victim's car was on the same block as the home she was murdered in and covered with parking tickets and police were too inept to identify the car as belonging to the missing woman. Perhaps the car wasn't registered to her. I'm not a cop so I don't know how that works. Do cops even write parking tickets in Chicago? But as awful as this is and naturally her family is suffering with tremendous loss to come out and throw stones at the police just shows where we've come and where we are going. The victim was in high school and her older child in daycare so she could attend school. The entire family here illegally utilizing services that are paid for by citizens. Again,I get their grief. But most of the people making comments on social media seem to feel that this family deserves better treatment because they are undocumented and don't speak English. Another point that jumps out is that most people on FB say that the killers should be charged with murder of the baby if it doesn't make it. Most are demanding death penalty and execution. Many of them vote for politicians that are for late term abortion for any reason and soft on crime.They don't see the hypocrisy of that.
This case reminds me of the November 16, 1995 murder of Debra Evans (F/W) and two of her three children in her apt. in suburban Addison. Ferrell and his girlfriend Jacqueline Williams for the murders and cutting out a full term infant boy from the murdered Evans' womb. The fetus survived. The murderers were sentenced to death. However, Gov. George Ryan ended the death penalty before they were scheduled for execution.
The M/B that murdered the pregnant Debra Evans was Fedell Caffey.
