Seriously, we know Chicago is an international city. Has been for years. Travel is part of the job, and holding "meetings" to make it look like at least some of it is "Official Business" is part of the game.
But Rahm spent every weekend traveling, and when he wasn't traveling he was at his hideaway over at Van Buren and Green while countless man-hours were spent (and continue to be spent) on an empty residence. Chicago needs a mayor who spends time in town handling local problems that were ignored by the past two idiots and not by some wanna-be jet-setter testing the national waters for another job.

She is arrogant isn't she. But her big mistake is going to see the Communist Mayor Bill DeBlasio. He is being described as the worst mayor that NYC has ever had. He is running for POTUS but cannot run NYC. Three out of four New Yorker's disapprove of him running. People are fed up with the crime, subways breaking down, snarled traffic, homeless living on the streets just like in LA and San Francisco, trash everywhere, his "meatless Mondays his view on private real estate property seizures even though his NYC Housing Authority is the worst in the city, his pay to play accusations. For his POTUS run he stole AOC's Green New Deal for his platform and wants to ban glass & steel skyscrapers. He has reduced the speed limit to 25 mph. That's not the only thing that has slowed down, he has been tagged as the human sloth because he likes to sleep late into the day and then go from Gracie Mansion, Manhattan to his Park Slope gym a good 45 min. each way with the detail. In 2016 he averaged showing up at City Hall about 19 days a month, since 2017 he averages about half that. He hates the police and they hate him, remember when they turned their backs on him at the police funeral?
Now why would Lightfoot visit and waste time with such an incompetent mayor. There are many other city mayors/managers in the country that have successful adminstrations and are fiscally sound, have low crime and not the problems that NYC and Chicago have. A wise person would seek their advice and not de Blasio's.
Chicago Mayors need to get away as much as possible as it is too damn depressing here.

Socialism is the warm, fuzzy term used to condition the masses, but Socialism is just a collective vehicle to get to Communism.
Mayor Lori wasn't very honest about her aspirations for Chicago when she ran for election few months ago. None of her speeches mentioned hatred for CPD or desire to convert Chicago into Communist utopia for "the Community". It is clear after hearing her speak that she is not a strong person based in reality and has no practical plan for the City. She will listen to the whispers in her ear that mean to undermine what made Chicago a great City.

Upom return, a COMA committee will convene to review the meeting notes. After review, COMA shall publish their findings in a public venue and make recommendations regarding future travel.

Okay.
1. Voter registration inventory is long overdue for a purging. Aka, an honest accounting to determine actual voters meeting the meager qualifications to be registered to vote = their vote being accepted and counted.
2. To determine potential citizens for accepted registration, aka, qualified residents who are both citizens, of voting age and residing at address registered, the 2020 national census provides the basis. This is why including the citizenship question on this approaching census is vital.
3. Before an honest determination of the percentage of qualified to vote residents can be honestly stated, the quantity of qualified to vote residents must be defined. The 2020 national census can do this.
4. Both the definitive quantity of qualified actual residents and the utilization of the census results to purge the registered voter inventory must be applied, for the percentage of qualified voters voting in any election to have value and, thus, meaning.
5. Once the numbers exist, after 2020 census with citizenship question included and any unanswered individual questionieres determined as non citizen, and voter registration inventory is purged, via utilization of same, of all non citizens, non residents, non qualified individuals, only then can an accurate percentage of qualified & registered TO qualified & not registered be definitively determined.
6. Thus, whilst the orginal comment can be considered as commonly presumed actual, it cannot be proven accurate and, thus, factual, without the above described two events occuring.
7. THIS is why MAGA 2020 is vital for this city, county and state. No other means can compete with an honest 2020 census, with citizen question, AND, following, an honest purging of voter registration inventory.

She was born here, graduated from Saint Ignatius College Preparatory and only relocated for her education and after she married George Lucas of Star Wars fame who is a Californian. For all practical purposes, she is a Chicagoan who is presently on loan to California.
Things are about to get even uglier, we are about to be forced into a pay cut and layoffs. The Mayor is confident our union has no spine and these changes will sail through. Emanuel set things in place and now Lori is going to benefit. Expect 55 and out to be gone as well, this Mayor loathes the Police.
