Sgt of C.T.A. special becomes Captain of 20. Capt of 20 becomes Commander of 35th street parking lot patrol. 35th street Parking lot patrol becomes Superintendent of Police. 16th District Commander becomes head of the Community Interaction Event Number Archive Library.

So if someone mentions a desk sergeant or watch commander, they're just making things up too? People still call the Willis tower the Sears tower, but it doesn't cease to exist. Just because someone refers to OCD doesn't mean they're making shit up. It just means they're probably used to calling things by an old name. There are still references to OCD on city/department forms and websites. Get over yourself and your amazing knowledge of the new names for old shit. We're all impressed though.

You must have less then 5 years on the job and likely also use precincts when referring to districts. Bureau is some BS Mccarthy started. True CPD has always been “Divisions”
Area North Commander is about to get served with subpoena to be deposed as a witness, soon to be offender, in an investigation involving a subordinate accussed by a high ranking state employee of misconduct. The Commander will have to tell the truth cuz word is the subordinate has proof (video,audio, date, time stamps,names of everyone who "investigated" the alleged misconduct. Turns out the State was already working with this subordinate on a sexual harassment case against the state employee.Looks like she (state employee) is caught dirty in all sorts of ways. Problem is she dragged Area North detectives into her lies. Expect a few Sgts, the retiring Lt, and a few detectives who knew of this to be deposed in the pending lawsuit.DCFS is about to be rocked with a big scandal.Expect shit to roll soon. RC won't survive this unscathed.

Why on earth would he want that job, that would mean he and his people would have to work more than 4 hours a day. She has merited promoted and appointed everyone that’s kissed her ass. Irregardless of competence. No accountability of poor performing detectives or supervisors. She was a hack supervisor when she went through the D, but that was a different time. There were bosses that knew the job and knew how to motivate and mentor detectives. Now, it’s a fucking alphabet soup of clout, cronyism and nepotism. No one left to actually do the work. Time for a change that may bring some pride back to the D. Maybe increase that pathetic clearance rate too.

There’s a lot of people in law enforcement mentioned here, the problem is, not a lot of policemen are mentioned.
The weak unsubstantiated comments about Staples have gotten old. As someone who is assigned to the Detective Division I’ve noticed SOME (I stress some) newly promoted millennial detectives that don’t know what real work is, as well as a good number of veteran Pooches that are now being held accountable for doing nothing. Either way, the poster sounds like the typical d unit crybaby. What’s wrong- you can’t come into work 2 hrs late and leave early anymore? Sliding out on your Friday after Roll Call isn’t working out so well lately? Taking your police car home for 5-6 hrs and then returning back to the office to scam OT isn’t happening anymore? Do You think that shit flys in Patrol?
The men and women in Patrol bust their asses everyday pushing that beat car and get treated like crap yet they go out and do it over & over again every tour. As an older guy in the detective div I’m incredibly proud of my equals (young and old) that work in Patrol. Truly a thankless job they do for little to no thanks and ZERO perks or special treatment. To resort to posting on a blog to vent about a specific individual who I have never seen do a vindictive act to anyone is bullshit. It’s interesting when a male boss puts his foot down and he’s viewed as a demanding man but when a woman does it she’s judged completely different. I bet I know what the problem is- are you not getting the “perks” you once had and somehow now thing they are owed to you???
Son, you’re not that good to be getting any perks, you don’t even try. Here’s my favorite, the dogs that don’t do shit all week and then work special employment on their RDOs and walk into the det div office prior to the VRI tour and expect the sgt to take a car from an on duty det and give it to them so they can sit on their ass on some street corner and watch movies. Mad you’re not getting that D unit car anymore? Why would Dogs be treated any other way than DOGS??? Furthermore, the comment about Staples leaves me wondering where you have drawn your conclusion from? I’ve worked for six chiefs in the D unit and Staples has provided the areas with more resources than the last handful of chiefs combined. I will grant you it’s not hard to look good following that goof Gene Roy, but what have the other chiefs really done? They all had the luxury of commanding from afar with little to no ramifications to their decisions. Staples walked into a mess: Laquan McDonald, rahm’s dismantling of the police Dept.,etc. She has exponentially increased manpower across the areas, added a technology unit and a SOMEX team, the areas just got a bunch of new cars. Yes, they’re Nissans but the A/C works and it’s better than the 200k mile sled I was driving.
Know what else she’s accomplished? She’s put her foot down on the dogs. Not just the Dets either- you can see that from the sergeants and lieutenants she has moved or dumped over the last three years. Here’s another observation... the Dets that do their job and work are happy because they’re getting anything they want, the dogs are getting dogshit. Are you mad you can’t take a murder and turn it into a 20hour OT scam and not produce anything but a poorly written major littered with inaccurate info and spelling errors? Well, as someone who for years has shook their head at the bullshit out here in The Areas I can say it’s been a refreshing change to see some support as well as the dogs be held accountable for their ineptness.
And let’s just say Staples did get moved over to the Chief of Administrative services... she would be on top of everything from cars to soft toilet paper because that crazy bitch lives for this job!

The men and women in Patrol bust their asses everyday pushing that beat car and get treated like crap yet they go out and do it over & over again every tour. As an older guy in the detective div I’m incredibly proud of my equals (young and old) that work in Patrol. Truly a thankless job they do for little to no thanks and ZERO perks or special treatment. To resort to posting on a blog to vent about a specific individual who I have never seen do a vindictive act to anyone is bullshit. It’s interesting when a male boss puts his foot down and he’s viewed as a demanding man but when a woman does it she’s judged completely different. I bet I know what the problem is- are you not getting the “perks” you once had and somehow now thing they are owed to you???
Son, you’re not that good to be getting any perks, you don’t even try. Here’s my favorite, the dogs that don’t do shit all week and then work special employment on their RDOs and walk into the det div office prior to the VRI tour and expect the sgt to take a car from an on duty det and give it to them so they can sit on their ass on some street corner and watch movies. Mad you’re not getting that D unit car anymore? Why would Dogs be treated any other way than DOGS??? Furthermore, the comment about Staples leaves me wondering where you have drawn your conclusion from? I’ve worked for six chiefs in the D unit and Staples has provided the areas with more resources than the last handful of chiefs combined. I will grant you it’s not hard to look good following that goof Gene Roy, but what have the other chiefs really done? They all had the luxury of commanding from afar with little to no ramifications to their decisions. Staples walked into a mess: Laquan McDonald, rahm’s dismantling of the police Dept.,etc. She has exponentially increased manpower across the areas, added a technology unit and a SOMEX team, the areas just got a bunch of new cars. Yes, they’re Nissans but the A/C works and it’s better than the 200k mile sled I was driving.
Know what else she’s accomplished? She’s put her foot down on the dogs. Not just the Dets either- you can see that from the sergeants and lieutenants she has moved or dumped over the last three years. Here’s another observation... the Dets that do their job and work are happy because they’re getting anything they want, the dogs are getting dogshit. Are you mad you can’t take a murder and turn it into a 20hour OT scam and not produce anything but a poorly written major littered with inaccurate info and spelling errors? Well, as someone who for years has shook their head at the bullshit out here in The Areas I can say it’s been a refreshing change to see some support as well as the dogs be held accountable for their ineptness.
And let’s just say Staples did get moved over to the Chief of Administrative services... she would be on top of everything from cars to soft toilet paper because that crazy bitch lives for this job!

She has merited promoted and appointed everyone that’s kissed her ass. Irregardless of competence. No accountability of poor performing detectives or supervisors. She was a hack supervisor when she went through the D, but that was a different time. There were bosses that knew the job and knew how to motivate and mentor detectives. Now, it’s a fucking alphabet soup of clout, cronyism and nepotism. No one left to actually do the work. Time for a change that may bring some pride back to the D. Maybe increase that pathetic clearance rate too.

Worked for at least six, possibly seven different Chiefs in the Detective Division. Staples is probably the best I have worked for. I wont identify the worst one I worked for.
Ok, if you insist.... Maria Maher had no business being a patrol officer, never mind, Chief of Detectives. Nice call on that one Mr. Cline!

The weak unsubstantiated comments about Staples have gotten old. As someone who is assigned to the Detective Division I’ve noticed SOME (I stress some) newly promoted millennial detectives that don’t know what real work is, as well as a good number of veteran Pooches that are now being held accountable for doing nothing. Either way, the poster sounds like the typical d unit crybaby. What’s wrong- you can’t come into work 2 hrs late and leave early anymore? Sliding out on your Friday after Roll Call isn’t working out so well lately? Taking your police car home for 5-6 hrs and then returning back to the office to scam OT isn’t happening anymore? Do You think that shit flys in Patrol?

Why are most still even in their Supervisory Positions, other than for reasons of politics and nepotism. ? It’s plain to see their abysmal success ratings, so why are many of them still running the show for so long ? My Guess, Pay to Play, the Chicago Way...
