I am a citizen with a PO relative and am sick after listening to my scanner of the cluster. My heart goes out to all the men and women working this nightmare. Going on hour after hour. Sometimes sounding like they had a handle on something but other times screaming, begging for help. Why did it take the mayor and superintendent HOURS to show their faces? And when they did they come up with the master plan of curfew at 9 PM!?! Genius! Because that COVID19 stay at home of 5 PM was and is working so well! I pray for all CPD and all first responders every day but especially during these difficult and challenging times. If I have 1 criticism it is this. Every cop carries a can of pepper. At the end of the day they should all have been empty. At least use what you have, especially when you've got 20-30 buddies on each side. It could have proven more effective than not. And carry a wood baton to these. It's more visible and effective.

All radio communications (ok, except some secure military systems) can be interfered with. Problem with digital is that a transmission is all or nothing. Here even with some interference you can make out some of the traffic. PDT traffic, cell phone calls are secure, but being on a radio frequency still can be jammed by someone with the appropriate skills and tools.
