Mendoza Runs Interference

Even with the media embargo on the pay raise Illinois legislators were due for, the story was gaining massive traction downstate and in the more enlightened parts of the electorate. Enter the Machine's Susana Mendoza:
  • Seeking to knock down a Republican talking point on the $40 billion state spending plan passed over the weekend, Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza released a video Wednesday declaring that legislators won’t be getting raises in the budget year that begins July 1.

“Some state legislators seem to think they’ll be getting a pay raise this year,” Mendoza says in the minute-long video. “The answer is: No, they won’t."

As debate over the budget stretched into the early-morning hours Sunday, some Republicans in the Illinois House and Senate objected to the lack of language specifically blocking the automatic cost-of-living raises legislators are granted under state law.

[...] While it’s true that no such language was included, the budget lawmakers approved would not provide any money to cover the cost of legislator raises, which means they won’t be seeing a pay bump, according to Mendoza, a Chicago Democrat whose job includes writing lawmakers’ paychecks. “Here’s how much money the General Assembly appropriated for legislator raises … in this year’s budget: Zero," Mendoza says in the video. “Which means, here’s how much more money I will be putting in their paychecks this year: Zero.”
We think that Mendoza is positioning herself for another shot at the mayor's office. She was our bet last year in the crowded field and seeing as how Groot is cratering in every metric of being an actual leader, it'll be another toss-up race in three years. Unless she's got her sights on the Durbin's Senate seat?

Just what you like to see, more career politicians making videos on what makes them so great! Really makes you wonder why there are only democRATS in Chicago? Cities broke, county is broke and the state is broke. They have all had money problems for decades and they don't get a cost of living raise! If there were performance requirements on legislators, commissioners and alderman maybe there would be some real fiscal responsibility and a solvent city, county and state! It's more fun for the taxpayers this way wondering what the next tax will be and at the same time wondering if they will have a job, be evicted or forclosed! Glad to see these alderman, commissioners and legislators so worried about the taxpayers! A real joke!!!

Senator Lori Lightfoot? Like Senator Bluto Blutarski?
Barring a miracle, she has irretrievably sunk any hopes of ANY future electoral career.

This year or next doesn't matter.

There is no money for the legislature, and there will be no money for the police raises or pension funds.

One third!

Dallas is raising theirs by 8%.

How much is Groot going to raise your taxes?

************

Until after they have everyone looking the other way, then some Rat puts up a bill to up their pay and viola! Shitsticks get their raise. They just can't do it now.

There's a reason there wasn't specific language to get rid of it. If there was they'd have to live with it. Without that language and merely zeroing out the budget line they can shit out a bill that addresses it and puts it back in there without violating previous language prohibiting it.

That's how.

Three years from now we wont be saying “it coulda been worse”.
Three years is plenty to leave this city in shambles, it’s going to be a long expensive road to get the city back into fiscal well being. Notice the financial sectors have yet to warn of bond/credit ratings or give any forecasts. Either they’re worried about it not being able to sell short or worried more of an economic restart boom resulting in a GOP political boost before November comes.

Playing the centrist, Mandozer for mayor, maybe but we will never see another Jane Byrne.
Mandozer for Senate or Governorette?
The Senile Durban re-election in Nov or DuckWorthless (contender VP) seats are being held for KmmmFxxxUp or facsimile thereof, these are gifts to finish out terms.
I predict a troubled JB Butterworth is going to pull the plug like a Rahm in late 2021 “for family reasons”, or maybe for some underlying ailment and gift his spot to historic first Stratton.

Make sure everyone votes every Democrat out on Nov 3rd, especially the US House of Reps running in suburban districts.

Mendoza ain’t running against Groot. If Groot decides not to run again, she may. But Suzy Q is just being Suzy Q. Her dark side was exposed in 2019. She went from top contender to 6th place. She will run for something bigger again. For now, she is just trying to keep it her name relevant.

Real scary thing to watch for is who the CTU and socialist caucus choose to run. If you think Lightfoot is bad, wait until you see what Carlos Ramirez Rosa, Byron Sigcho or Stacy Davis Gates run on. A broken city with even more promises of Free Free Free.

Susanna Mendoza can not be trusted. Her apologists claim "her brother is a Chicago police officer". Who gives a fuck.

Name one single policy she has fought for that benefited us? Just name one.

Mendoza should skip trying to save the State of Chicago; that ship sunk a few decades ago, and by the time Lightbright is done, it will be even worse. A Federal legislative seat beats being mayor of a broke-ass major city sliding into the deep thanks to corruption and decades of corrupt Democratic Social Justice rule.

This girl could be interesting, even though when she first got into our state job she went out and bought a new vehicle to cut her ass around from a broke budget but that is what they do, with her police detail as a city clerk and other things she wasted money on not counting what she did to the city clerks office getting rid of managers that were Caucasian yeah that’s the reason she can deny it but that’s what happened.

There is no big surprise here if you know anything at all about Nashville politics. Same old story. A democrat mayor who has allowed mismanagement to occur while he was on the Nashville city council and now that he is mayor, they are faced with a crises. He is the 3rd mayor in 2 years after Mayor Megan Barry (democrat) was convicted of felony theft.

I still remember when Suzy told her first lie. She was going to reduce the cost of city stickers if elected. It was at that point, I knew she was born for politics. Bravo!

Mendoza will carry the torch of the Socialist Democrats into the next decade. Whether its Mendoza, Lock Down Larry or Toni the Goiter nothing will change. The trajectory of doom for the city is sealed. Many of the crooked politicians, the fake news, and business leaders already know this but will not speak the truth for fear of shaming and not following the Socialist Democrat line. As long as these people are in power nothing will change. If there is no change in government then stay and shut up or move out.

Due to a law passed in 2014 under the leadership of House Speaker Mike Madigan and then-Senate President John Cullerton, lawmaker salaries, operating expenses and pay increases must be specifically prohibited for a given year for the payments to stop. This is what’s referred to as a “continuing appropriation.”
