She's decided that she will circumvent existing Contract protections for all police agencies in Cook County:
- State’s Attorney Kim Foxx Thursday introduced a new online form the public can use to report potential criminal misconduct by police officers in Cook County.
Foxx, citing an increase in allegations of criminal misconduct against law enforcement officials, said the form, available on the office’s website, was created in response to a “growing frustration that in a lot of these cases, we [prosecutors] aren’t notified by [investigating authorities] until late in the process.”
This way citizens can report the allegations directly to prosecutors, Foxx said in an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times.
That isn't how the process works. The State is brought in at a specific point for a specific purpose - to prosecute a completed investigation. This is also the point at which Crimesha usually drops the charges and asks offenders if they need an Uber ride home. But now she wants to be involved prior to an investigation being completed. She obviously looking for scalps to collect, and not the scalps of those that police arrest.

On January 26th 2020 I was stopped by police while walking on the 5000 block of Winthrop for smoking weed on a public way officers then search me and found nothing on my person I'm beginning to ask for identification I provided ID for offices I was in handcuffs and taken to a car the body cam footage shows that I had nothing illegal on me but the marijuana and I was arrested for gun possession that they found in someone else's car during the arrest officers were very aggressive and forceful and making me do things they want it I was pushed and slammed up against the car and my back was hurt I was injured and taken to the hospital during my arrest I was also corner in a room at the police station were officer said that I was resisting arrest and applied force by having more than 6 officer's hold me saying I was resisting arrest during this incident there was body cam footage it's showing that I did not resist and I was also in a holding cell where I should have been handcuffed I was handcuffed there till 4 in the morning without being allowed to use the bathroom or any movement in the holding cell the office is trying to get me to admit to having a gun that I had never seen the whole time that I was in this holding cell it delay my processing into the jail I was taking to Cook county jail at a later point in time I was giving a criminal case for possession of a firearm and I feel it was due to my criminal background I spend a lot of time in custody still fighting this case meanwhile my life has been destroyed I've lost my employment and still suffer from the back injury from the the incidence of that day

Every single police officer that is required to testify in any court should either decline or take the stand and state that they cannot testify based on their fifth amendment rights of self incrimination and then site the fact the CCSAO is actively being an investigative agency against law enforcement instead of a prosecutorial agency.
There is no single reason why a cop should have to testify in court any further. The fact that cases are only being tried, or dismissed, based on body cam footage should be enough for the courts. No officer is believed anymore based on their straight up testimony so what's the point. The court should waive the need to lay the foundation for the state to admit body cam footage by having a PO testify on the stand. Instead just admit the body cam evidence and any witnesses or victims testimony and stop wasting everyone elses time.

Since the State’s Attorney’s office took the complaint, I’d ask that I be advised of my rights. I would exercise my right to remain silent.

This is insane. There is nothing in any law that says you need body cam footage to prove a crime. This is a horrible precedent she is setting. So ok then if someone makes a compliant on an Officer on her new site without any video footage it should be thrown out immediately. You can't have it both ways. Where are our union's? And not just FOP? What if these agg bats to P.O's have witnesses?? Is she saying that's not good enough? If anyone gets arrested for anything after this and there is no video footage wouldn't a lawyer say well you let people go with no video before. Who do we complain too? This is a total violation of her office. The unions need to bring this to the Superintendent and the media.
The people have elected these radical left Democrats into the government and now they are stealing the government from us. After getting a call back from an ASA after waiting way too long, I asked them if they were running errands at Target. They didn’t think it was too funny, but she was definitely caught off guard, so I think I hit a nerve. It’s so fucked up, I send them 20 minutes of video and I get a call back 70 minutes later? Seriously? You’re working, not grilling on the patio with the family.

Only administrative, meaning losing our jobs. The Supreme Court ruled Law Enforcement isn't obligated to protect ANYONE! You can literally walk away from a job, you probably will be fired and sued civilly but you will not be prosecuted. Same I believe applies to SA's.

I am retired but I went to the CCSA website after seeing the story of them taking criminal complaints. I went to the section about officer involved shootings. It gives a synopsis of the cases and chronicles whether the officers were charged or not. Two cases fall under the officer charged line. All other cases are of officer involved shootings where the Asa reviewed the circumstances and no charges were filed against the involved officers. This means the officers were justified in their use of deadly force and by logical reason , victims of a crime. Why is it then that the ASA's website NAMES the victim officers. Why are officers who are victims of crimes being named by the ASA's website?
There's no need for COPA and their bloated salaries ...

“Handled” by her office, and hmmmmmm, sustain allegations. Giglio that Officer and viola!!! Case goes away. Rinse, repeat.

There is no single reason why a cop should have to testify in court any further. The fact that cases are only being tried, or dismissed, based on body cam footage should be enough for the courts. No officer is believed anymore based on their straight up testimony so what's the point. The court should waive the need to lay the foundation for the state to admit body cam footage by having a PO testify on the stand. Instead just admit the body cam evidence and any witnesses or victims testimony and stop wasting everyone elses time.

It's the set up for the ghetto lottery. Find out where officer works / lives and try to bait them or provoke them but ya only start filming after any criminal hijinks are done and officer is forced to engage.
