For some reason the questions where Deenihan really goes off on the reporters has been removed from the longer video by WGN. It's almost like they don't want anyone to see what assholes reporters are.

- I watched the presser with Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan. He looked irritated by the stupid questions he was asked by all those leftist journalists. Kudos to Chief Deenihan for sticking up for the coppers and instantly shutting down those alleged reporters. I swear the media couldn't be an more fuckin biased.
- The reporters this afternoon were only interested in finding out any info they could about "what the officers did wrong." They are trying to insuate the officers didn't search the offender, or cuffed him in front, which "caused" this to happen. It's the only angle they want to hear but Deenihan snapped on them and put them in their place. Nice to see that! Screw these POS reporters.
- Watch cheif Deenihans press conference from today, and you will see EXACTLY how an exempt should address reporters. He debunked the false narrative that was being published, and was 100% behind ALL the coppers involved.
Deenihan did a good job with the hostile press. He probably ruined any shot to go higher, but top ten in the Department isn't a bad landing. And having the appreciation from much of the rank-and-file is a good thing.

Brenden's a good guy. He passed every promotional test, Detective, Sgt. Lt. No merit. Yes, I know you cant be Chief of Detectives without some clout but at least hes on our side.
The actual WGN news report that I saw follows Deenihan's view of the crime completely, and doesn't raise any other questions. They show him talking about criminals being emboldened, give his description of the crime. They mention that he was out of parole, and then let Deenihan give the full history -- out on electronic monitoring, etc. The reporter is live from the hospital.
The primary thing anyone would feel is sympathy for the officer in the hospital and outrage at the brazenness of the crime. She does briefly mention that the accountability office is investigating, but pretty much as a quick afterthought. I have no complaint with their report.
In YouTube when I pulled up the link to the presser, the WGN report was the next to play, though that may vary depending on your search history.
So what happened then?
I know him personally, off the job. A complete gentleman and all around great guy.

Deenihan represents a traditional, old school Boss. One who the blue boys look up to and respect, one who commands the respect of the rank and file. This man doesn't need any promotions, knowing that the boys and girls on the job have his back is worth more than some fake ass set of stars and ridiculous title.

I had a small snafu with Deenihan in my career, but objectively I cannot deny he’s intelligent & knows what he is doing. And when you can say that about someone even if you don’t necessarily like them, it says it all. I’m glad he gave it back to them.
Kudos to Chief Deenihan. The media is nothing but piranhas.
Like us liking him being a stand up guy will do shit for his career. Just like our military, the key ranking officers in this organization have been put in place by someone that hates the people that work for them and they also hate this country as it was founded. Hopefully he won't get too much flak for having a momentary lapse of his indoctrination and blurting out the truth as he and all of us know it to be. Good on ya, boss, these reporters are reprehensible vermin and should be profanely scolded at every opportunity by us.

I disagree. The press never treated the military as a whole the way they treat the police. It is unreal to me that we are hard on "Terrorists" but soft on murderous criminals in our own damn country.
We had "kill or capture" orders on everyone we looked for in Iraq. "Kill or capture" means that if you see the guy you can shoot him on the spot. Armed or unarmed, all good. I just don't understand why the police are treated with such outrageous oversight when it comes to hardcore criminals. Criminals in this country are much more dangerous to the American people than those low-level terrorists we hunted over there ever were but we were allowed to use amounts of violence people can't even imagine. Everything the media reports is filtered through a red tinted social justice lens. I have cut the cord and cancelled cable TV four years ago, dont miss it a bit, stopped getting the newspaper long before that. News now comes from conservative sites on the internet.
You cant get away from the drumbeat of the left's agenda, look at sports now, everyone kneeling or linking arms for a bullshit lie of BML.
On a side note. I have been receiving the Sunday Chicago Fibune free, delivered to my doorstep for the past couple of years. I would walk it directly to the alley and deposit it into the blue recycling garbage can where it belonged up until a few weeks ago. I am now saving those papers to use as packing to cushion my belongings when I move from this democratic disaster of a state.

I also think it's worth noting that Lightfoot and Brown put Deenihan up there to talk about this. Lots of departments would have the chief of detectives brief the Superintendent and then he would talk. I'm sure they knew Deenihan would answer questions the way he did, and they were fine with that.

Here’s the issue. Look back at Lightfoot’s decisions at the police board. She finds officers guilty of creating Exigent Circumstances. Copa will find in this case that the officers created the Exigent Circumstances by missing the weapon. That poor man wouldn’t have been shot if the cops did their job properly. This is the nonsense we’re facing. Past police board findings will show this.
