Again, a rumor. We post those from time to time to get info from people closer to the sources.
We are far far from 35th Street and have no interest in going there except to turn in our stuff and leave.

Speaking of rumors, was that pat on the back a little premature from FLOP regarding the contract? This shit’s not even funny anymore. For a while it was amusing. But things are just so depressing around every turn now.
If true, it’ll be back reincarnated under a different name once the weather warms up again.
In the meantime, prepare to hear the wailing of 100s of coppers scrambling to make the nut on their Jeeps, Lexuses, BMWs and Benz’s.
Watch for the migration back to Housing & the movie detail. They’ll be a lot of crybabies when the senior peeps shake things up.

Didn’t hear anything about Overtime but you have to wonder where is all the money for the migrants going to come from. Something has to be cut. With Christmas coming up so does the burglaries, robberies, thefts and carjacking.

Good. SDI are the laziest do nothings. You see the pack of dogs actually walking out to the cars for SDI? They do nothing and just eat money. Voluntary over time workers should be working harder than anyone else. They should be priority in job assignments in whatever district they’re assigned to voluntarily work for time and a half pay.
I don’t know why you would say that SCC. I love my spot up here at HQ. I did my time in a beat car while on probation and that sucked. Then everything turned around when one SDSC position opened up and I applied and was chosen. At first I was afraid the old officers will be chosen for that single position but nope, LT chose me. I spent few months in SDSC where I believe I encouraged many beat officers to do more they had initially believed they could do. And be all they can be or at least some of them. I dispatched officer Stillman to the Toledo call and we all recovered a gun. Now that’s team work! The Commander said everyone including me did a phenomenal job. Shortly after I applied to HQ and was chosen for that position as well. Stay safe everyone.
So HQ had offered an overtime initiative for 9 Nov 2023 for Detectives, for Amtrak-Joe's visit to the city. Apparrently the deadline kept getting extended until 8 Nov 2023 as no one was signing up. So now HQ will have to use 7 on duty Sgts and Detectives to make sure Amtrak-Joe doesnt get lost.
For once a group took a stand and told HQ to go pound sand.
Merit all the way Larry gets in and starts sending OT initiatives but, then wants us to work when he ways OT is ok.
We all know the city/cpd is diverting Federal funds for community safety and using it for illegal housing, cell phones, overpriced food from connected vendors as well as medical care at unheard of rates.
I can't confirm or deny the rumor. That being said the rumor I'm hearing is that all OT has to be justified with activity, activity, and activity. No activity, no OT. People say that's a quota and against Illinois State Law. I say that is for your regular paycheck and you keeping your job. You're not entitled to OT, that's separate.

Just look at your 2 down post. Why pay for SDI when we have to pay for homeless in the same neighborhood staying at a high-end hotel. They are giving up on the Mag Mile. Was in the Watertower last year, nothing but shops that nobody who shopped there 15 years ago would go to today. Its like they are destroying it on purpose.

When you go down to turn in your stuff it might not be your last trip. They did not have my retirement star and gave me an inspector gadget one to use until the real one came in. I never got a phone call and after a year I called and it was there. So one last trip to get the real star and give them back the play one.

I heard the same rumor! I guess the city really wants to "Defund" the police! On the other hand, are we actually going to get holidays off next yr?? RDO's not cancelled? Hmmmmm. Are you talking about the 025, 3rd watch foot patrol officer? That guy claimed crime was down because he was walking around W. Diversey Avenue. If that was the case, then why not walk on W. North Avenue? Just walk around North Ave. and Central Ave. Problem solved! LOL.
I heard this rumor back when tier deployment went away. I am surprised it took this long to filter down the rabbit hole. VRI went away, SDI will go away, anyone want to takes bets on what the new name will be?
I was told it is temporary until the investigation of the assholes running the VSWO is complete. Seems Jill Stevens and Alyson Johnson and all their little minions who do the scheduling and communication have been playing fast and loose with how they interpret their made up special employment “rules”. Lengthy suspensions for the non-connected folks while “their people” get a pass for the same transgression. Once they clean house, hide the heavy somewhere else nice and dump the others back to districts they will bring in a new crew and rename it and start it up again.
Nobody knows what to do with this. They want cars on post to deter the looting/shoplifting/robberies but they also want the officers to answer jobs. Once they figure it out they will resurrect it and give it a new name.
That would be bad. Some of those SDI coppers are the best I’ve ever seen.
Yes they’re cutting SDI in 006, 009 and 025. SDI in 001/018 will remain they also added 2100 hrs for 001/018 7 days a week.

I just bought a new dodge pickup got the windows deep tinted now I cannot afford to get it jacked up! But I did save money with the tint no city sticker required!
Now I cannot hang with the punisher decal crew!

There will be SDI, just not out of the districts anymore. Once again, coppers refused to do anything except play video games and watch Tv in a hole during SDI. Now it will be beefed up in 001 and 018 only. It will be fixed vehicle posts with lights on and roving foot posts up and down Michigan Ave, Chicago Ave, division, rush in 018 and on state in 001, Michigan in 001 and wackier from Clark-michigan Ave in 001.
