Cops Injured
Trying to rescue a fire victim:
A woman in her 70s was in critical condition and her son was dead after a fire ravaged their Lawndale home early Wednesday, relatives and officials said.
Two Chicago police officers were injured, one badly, when the front porch collapsed on them as they tried to search for the man minutes after the fire started, officials said.
The article is unclear on their current conditions, but best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I wish everyone a swift and thorough recovery.
So sad! I wish all injured or hurt a speedy recovery. My prayers for the family and friends who lost their loved one. I pray for a safe winter heating season for everyone.
Hope the coppers get better soon...
Given the history of Lawndale's fine stock of buildings, there's no way I'd be running into one of them on fire to search for anyone.
Praying for their full recovery. God Bless the CPD.
Praying for a quick safe recovery!Coppers are the most unappreciated people in this city, as a matter of fact in this country. Listened to an idiot eye witness from the Vegas shooting yesterday he was complaining the police yelled at him to move quickly, crazy what has become of this once honored profession.
God Bless and get well soon our heroes...
Saving lives is the number one priority.
Prayers for these officers. Thank you for your service!
Cops do very good and brave things everyday!!! Just too bad we never hear about it or gets reported on. Police are only good enough to be on the news when a shooting is involved, fuck you media! My prayers are with the officer and their family.
I've worked with some of the finest men and women on this job. Many blue shirts didn't get promoted but were highly praised and respected by our watch mates. Some white shirts continued being great leaders and some we looked at and wondered why anyone would promote them. I would hope that we could be a little easier on our coworkers and as Jack Nicholson sang "always look on the bright side of your life". This month, should be a great month for everyone. Remember your families, go easy on yourselves. Please back everyone up. If you're feeling down for whatever reason, it's absolutely ok to reach out to EAP (312-743-0378) and speak anonymously. A simple 10 minute call can really make all the difference. God bless the Chicago Police Department.
Heroic action these young men attempted to run into a burning building to save the life of a person they probably never knew. I don't want to begin to think what would've happened if they actually made it in. I hope they make a speedy and complete recovery. Rest up brothers.
