There is such an easy solution. Promote guys and girls that have actually been the WOL for a while. Not tact Lts that have never been WOL’s. Not unit Lts that have, u know, never actually led a watch. Not a Lt that’s only been a Lt for few months, not even a year. Someone that’s been in the WOL position for years. They far and away know what’s best for the dept and what’s working and isn’t.
Then ask around to the districts, “who’s the best WOL you’ve got?” Officers, Sgt’s, other Lts know exactly who the good ones are and the shitty ones. Ask the Capt’s and cmdrs last b/c they’re all merit and are going to give you more merit bullshit Lts that don’t actually deserve to be a cmdr. It’s really that easy.
I can prob have your top candidates in a couple days. For instance, ask around about the Lts in 00X district. Everyone knows the ones that are great and would make great Cmdr’s. And, everyone knows the shitty ones that you’d never want in charge of earps, let alone a district. Within a few hours certain names will always emerge. “This Lt knows his shit.” “This Lt is a good leader that we all trust when shit hits the fan.” “This Lt I wouldn’t trust writing a parking ticket, let alone handling my trr.” Everyone in the districts know. And like you’d have your feedback immediately. But somehow this dept continually promoted the worst ones. The ones that were never actually the police. That’s why everyone has given up. The good ones are not rising to the top. With CPD it’s actually the opposite.

The troops in 009 have no issues with CMDR Mullenix. In a difficult environment that we work in and the hard work that some officers are still doing he's consistently writing emails to all the troops giving kudos to the hard work and arrest the officers are making on a weekly basis. When everyone forgets about the hard work some officers are still doing and working together during some difficult and tragic events we have a Commander that is recognizing that letting those officers know that they're doing a great job and sharing their stories, arrests and teamwork with everyone else. This speaks volumes. Can anyone else say their Commander is doing the same?
Mullendix please take little denny the axeman with you too. Maybe you two can head down south to his trailer park.

Most exempts were simply following orders during the covid vaccine mandate to keep their spots(So much for the holocaust museum field trips). Not Bob. He was absolutely delighted to screw over dissident coppers and excited at the prospect of firing them. He was also one of the engineers of illegals being packed into district lobbies. I can’t think of an exempt who has contributed more than him to making the rank and file miserable.
Bulnes destroyed what she controlled during her stint as Dep. Chief of Dicks. On the flip-side she looked hot with her drop leg holster.
Before you dump them make sure you have someone to replace them. Remember Lieutenants salary + uniform allowance + supervisor quarterly + duty availability + sell back hours makes more than a commander. That is without any overtime, if you add in the overtime they make way more than a commander. In addition, they are not on call 24hours, they get full furloughs. Command staff members do not get overtime or full furlough segments. Hard finding someone these days that would want that position with all the negatives that come with it. The difference in pension take home is 2k a month. But your giving up about 100k a year in overtime. It will take you how many years to make that up in retirement? Do not think you will live long enough to make up the difference. That is why these guys with egos take the promotion. The common sense lieutenant with experience and great leadership skills avoid a position that will ruin their personal life and be a detriment to their health in the long run. Especially in a DEI run department. You ever wonder why the DEI promoted individuals never oversee any critical incident? Why is that? They have the skill to get the promotion, but they do not have the skill to oversee a critical incident that requires knowledge, experience, and leadership. It's like a pilot that does not fly planes.

The troops in 009 have no issues with CMDR Mullenix. In a difficult environment that we work in and the hard work that some officers are still doing he's consistently writing emails to all the troops giving kudos to the hard work and arrest the officers are making on a weekly basis. When everyone forgets about the hard work some officers are still doing and working together during some difficult and tragic events we have a Commander that is recognizing that letting those officers know that they're doing a great job and sharing their stories, arrests and teamwork with everyone else. This speaks volumes. Can anyone else say their Commander is doing the same?

But they can't complain either, the money is still 3 times more than what an average cop makes and free car, gas, and insurance. The higher you go in this department....less work, more money, and can get away with virtually anything. Not too bad. I'll take my boring life with zero rank and less money any day of the week while still keeping my dignity and my soul.

Well Melinda Linas was promoted because then DC Barz nominated her for Commander. Before that she was a WOL in 025 on 1st watch. Before that she was the court section sgt assigned to Skokie court house with a take home car and weekends off. That last one was because she and Matt cline were an item years before so he made sure his girl had a nice gig that most people would never get even if they worked 100 years on this job. So spare everyone the “she keeps getting fucked over” comment as it is FALSE. Huh? You mean the court sergeant in Skokie from 5 years ago that wouldn’t let detectives sign out of court to pick up evidence at ERPS? When I called her to discuss this she said they should sign it out while they were working and then bring it to court the next day. When I asked how should the chain of custody be maintained in the meantime all I got was a long silence followed by it wasn’t her problem. You’re right, I’m a higher up and she scares me.

Why should Court Sgt. Linas be promoted?
Jerome will be promoted no doubt. He made sure EJ wasn’t DUI’d on the traffic stop in 009. Wasn’t he the Commander of 009 back then? His officers took the hit for him.

Phuck her. She is an individual very deserving of a kick in the ass, although there are plenty of others equally as deserving. Karma is a bitch even bigger than Skankil. Besides, she has a more than plenty exempt pension income and a few years of civilian compensation buried in the backyard, plus she can do some lawyering if she gets restless. Only her quest for power and position have been injured. Again, phuck her.

Huh? You mean the court sergeant in Skokie from 5 years ago that wouldn’t let detectives sign out of court to pick up evidence at ERPS? When I called her to discuss this she said they should sign it out while they were working and then bring it to court the next day. When I asked how should the chain of custody be maintained in the meantime all I got was a long silence followed by it wasn’t her problem. You’re right, I’m a higher up and she scares me.
Can’t believe what I just read, clearly she’s never handled evidence a day in her life. Clueless as to what chain of custody means. You should have signed out the evidence the night before. Left it in your take home over night. When questioned about at trail place them blame on the moron. She said you should that’a an order in my book. But she’s as heavy as she’s stupid so Malicious Compliance saves these clueless over promoted merits every time.
