"Reluctant"?

Fata$$ is making the correct noises, but a democrat "reluctant" to spend taxpayer money? We don't believe it:

  • Gov. J.B. Pritzker on Monday said he is “reluctant” to provide public subsidies for a new $1.2 billion White Sox ballpark in the South Loop unless he’s assured taxpayers will see a long-term benefit.

The Democratic governor also said the new stadium isn’t high on his priority list. His comments came days after Mayor Brandon Johnson appeared to be receptive to a new stadium — saying “everything is on the table here."

“I start out really reluctant … unless a case is made that the investment yields a long-term return for the taxpayers that we can justify in some way,” Pritzker said at an unrelated news conference. “I haven’t seen that yet.”

What's the Illinois debt currently? It was approaching $100 BILLION a little before The Hiatus, and we don't think anyone in Springfield has actually been paying anything down recently.

And as we noted last week, Wirtz (and Reinsdorf) built and paid off the United Center thirty years ago without a dime of taxpayer money.

We would have little objection to street and sewer improvements, maybe even electric grid updates, for the proposed site, because everyone in the area would benefit from the infrastructure upgrades. But if that's done, there better be oversight-up-the-ass to make sure politician aren't playing fast and loose with taxpayer dollars.

After the election they can justify it. Because they are in for another term. That’s what will happen in two more years for JB. Voters need to wake up and vote him out. He is the true Carnival Barker!

SCC are you referring to his musical flatulence
abilities? The tones come out both ends!

Beans, beans, the magical fruit
The more you eat, the more you toot
The more you toot, the happier you feel.
So eat your beans with every meal.
And as we can see he does!

ELIMINATING GROCERY TAX WOULD HELP ILLINOIS FAMILIES
by Dylan Sharkey FEBRUARY 21, 2024 IllinoisPolicyInstitue.org

Yea Pritzker is starting to make correct the “correct noises”. He announced he supports getting rid of the State’s Grocery Tax too. A Republican introduced this in the legislature in 2023 but they killed the bill.

And what’s coming up in 2024? Two important elections. Gotta make the Democrats look good for the voters.

A good way to see if the taxpayers would see a benefit, is to look at the current white sox organization and stadium, and judge their benefit to the taxpayers. There is no benefit to the taxpayers when they are forced to pay for private organizations to line the pockets of their owners and high-level employees. If millionaires and billionaires can't afford the buildings for their millionaire employees to play their child's game in, why are non-millionaire citizens expected to pick up the tab? The biggest benefit to taxpayers is to pay lower taxes, not to pay someone else's bloated bill for an unnecessary stadium for a failing team. No stadium in any part of Chicago will bring enough financial benefit to the taxpayers to offset a billion dollar plus cost. But the billionaire elected by the morons who don't actually pay those taxes will do what he wants. If you want to do what's best for the taxpayers, maybe let them decide. Maybe only the taxpayers should be allowed to vote on such matters. Maybe only the taxpayers should be allowed to vote, period. But that would make too much sense.

Fuck it - the infrastructure is there now and it is what it is. If the Stadium owners want more, they can pay for it. Taxpayers ought not to pay for a thing.

If YOU build a house, YOU have to pay for the lateral connection to the sanitary and storm sewers - installation, maintenance, replacement. Same with the water line from the B-box to the house. Gas and electric want their taste for lines...

So we're giving Reinsdorf something for free? Fuck you Jerry, pay US.

Teletubby wants to cut the food tax which is 1% we are infavor of all tax cuts. But teletubby told the LSM that this would save Illinoiz taxpayers several hundred dollars per year.

Simple math would show your food bill to be 20k to save 200 per year. We doubt many people other than teletubby spends that much on vittles.

Now about that gas tax increase.

One thing that I personally don't understand about professional sports franchises, how much actual tax dollars does the city coffers actually receive, if in a 10-15 years period we break even and they hire numerous people, okay. I would think its all about the money and that's not always a bad thing.

Its time for plan "B" wary Jerry Reinsdorf. Hire the "lobbying" and " consulting services" of Loretta Schaffer-Durbin of Government Affairs Consulting L.L.C. to get you sum of the Illinois taxpayer "seed" money. Yes Loretta Durbin is the wife of the Littlest Dick Durbin. She perpetrates at the state level and Little Dickie perpetrates at the federal level so there is no conflict of interest or even hint of improprieties. And by the way Loretta Durbin a legit registered public policy influencer and facilitator of sizable public money transfers. And she got government mafia-like hook ups.

Jerry Reinsdorf get you lawyers to meet up with the Governmental Affair Consulting L.L.C. lawyers for some smoke filled back room deals and get your money legit air tight legal. This is better than finding actual private investors. Avoid having too many prying eyes looking into your business model. Too many financial crooks spoil the soup.

Think of it. Go belly up and you owe nothing to taxpayers. Just walk away. After all, its just more squandered public money to finance a connected fat cat. No worries, Cook County and federal courts are in absolute control by democrats. Those in power make the rules and exercise authoritarian control of the public purse strings. Put those "reluctant" democrats like BJ Pritzker, BJ Johnson and Little Dick Durbin in the mix and this thing is effin golden.

The State of Illinois needs for the Bears to go to Arlington Heights. The Chicago convention business is dead. Our progressive reputation of allowing and rewarding violent crime is known nationwide. A convention complex anchored by new Bears facility along with the hotels and restaurants is needed to retain the convention business, far away from the Chicago transit system. Sure the Metra go out there but not the CTA. The progressive only destroy and never create.

I laugh when people want to throw “team record”, into the mix when the conversation involves tax dollars for sports arenas.
Does a championship team really change any aspect of life for you or your family?
Are there not any number of things where tax dollars are better spent?

Not to be ignored, the Cubs want $30 million for security upgrades and guess who they wants to pay for it. The Chicago taxpayer of course. They have $30 mil to pay some guy who can throw a ball out of their own pocket, but wants taxpayer money for their security. How about spending that money to keep kids safe going home from school? I forgot, they don't count. Where is Rahm when you need him.

Jerry Reinsdorf has drawn a line in the sand. Either Pritzker ponies up with citizen money or the White Sox and their billion dollar franchise will relocate to communist China creating a sucking sound taking those good paying seasonal jobs overseas.

The highly profitable mega sports franchise has an ace up their sleeve. Major league baseball has way too many migrant players originating from south of the border playing that ball that Americans won't even try out for. With so many imported migrant baseball players, the White Sox qualify under sanctuary protections for emergency funding subsidizing the annual multi million dollar salaries of the migrant superstars. The White Sox should secure funding in one of those all to common thousand page Illinois legislative bills that are hastily voted upon by law makers who don't read yet vote into law these bills which are legally binding. Remember you have to pass it to see what's in it.

Mayor Johnson said it is an "unhealthy precedent" for a judge to deny residents the right to vote on BHC.

But Johnson was backslapping City Council allies after they defeated a proposed referendum on Chicago remaining a sanctuary city.

ELIMINATING GROCERY TAX WOULD HELP ILLINOIS FAMILIES
by Dylan Sharkey FEBRUARY 21, 2024 IllinoisPolicyInstitue.org

Yea Pritzker is starting to make correct the “correct noises”. He announced he supports getting rid of the State’s Grocery Tax too.
————————————————————-
The 1% grocery tax is a sales tax collected by the state and remitted back to the municipalities in which the grocery purchases originated. The elimination of this tax has NO IMPACT on state revenues b/c the tax revenue is remitted back to the municipalities. So the municipalities will lose the revenue. Wheaton’s mayor said they will lose $2M in revenue. Northbrook said a few hundred grand. These municipalities will make up the loses with a likely higher levy on property taxes, especially if they are non-home rule. I agree on the elimination, but it has no impact on the Gov. and struggling municipalities will make up the loses. There are no free lunches in the real world.
