What inequity? Cops make stops based on actions, as in someone breaks a traffic law, then cops attempt to pull them over. Legislators have made every attempt to discourage this, passing all sorts of laws that exempt certain behaviors from being used as probable cause for traffic stops, but it still happens.
Anyone know what the racial breakdown is for persons fleeing traffic stops? (hint - it's over 80% of one demographic.)

The last time we were at Traffic Court, the place was operating at a fraction of it's heyday. With automated speed and red-light cams, the only reason to do a traffic stop nowadays is to tell a citizen his/her plate is expired or their headlight is out and get a name for the blue card.
By the way, the entire study is from some professors from California going through old data, not even local muckrakers.

I don’t know why these news people keep resurrecting this myth. You cannot use citywide demographic statistics because in Chicago the police manpower is assigned as to where high levels of crime is occurring which in this case is black areas.
Therefore if more police are assigned to these areas there are more stops. Compare and contrast that to a white area where there are less police assigned, there will be less stops. This is just simple numbers.
So in Chicago Police Parlance these areas are known as fast districts (high crime smaller geographical area to cover) and slow districts (less crime larger geographical area to cover). For years the Chicago Police Department has decimated the slow districts by sending more of their manpower in the form of tactical, gang, mission et al to the fast districts to quell the crime. Hence more stops because of the added manpower. This means more blacks being stopped in black areas to stop crime. It also means less whites being stopped in white areas which means less crime protection. This is not racial.
So if these reporters and the ACLU want perfect equal numbers have the city divide the policing areas into equal grids where police are assigned by equal numbers geography instead high crime & low crime. Then the numbers should even out.
If you look at the suburbs more blacks than whites are being stopped in Robbins,Dixmoor & Maywood and it would be the other way around in Hinsdale, Lake Forest & Deerfield.

When I was in college, before being the police I had an assignment to go to 26th and Cal and seat in branch 57 to write a report. When I walked in I walked up to a female sheriff and asked her when narcotics call was, she tells me, do you see the list on the wall look up your name and you'll know where your case is. I tell her, no I'm here to write a report for school but because I was arrested. But hey is you feed this into people's minds they start believing it and it becomes a reality.

How bout the bosses stop using traffic stops as a measure of activity. Everyday they post the traffic stop numbers and if you’re down, you’re asked to pick them up. If black motorists feel they’re getting picked on, that’s why. The brass will just not stop with pushing more and more traffic stops on the troops. And they measure it from previous months, years, so it has to keep going up. If it goes down, there has to be explaining why. So how many are enough you ask? Good question. It keeps escalating to the point that u have to make more and more stops of pretty much anything moving to keep the bosses numbers going up. That’s why people start to feel overpoliced and harassed. They’re getting stopped for the pettiest things just to get the number.

Retired here...I pulled over many a car with obvious, and blatant vehicle code violations. When the drivers turned out to be black, invariably, the answer was always "I was finna get that fixed" or, I was finna get a drivers license," or, "I was finna get some insurance"...or, "I was finna get a city sticker"
When I got that answer, my answer was always..."Well, I'm finna write you a ticket"...
BTW...I let most of those drivers away with a verbal warning, and let the mood of the driver dictate how the traffic stop went. If I was branded as a "racist" whose only reason for stopping that car was because he was black, I don't have to tell you how that went. (TVB) A polite and respectful driver usually drove away with a warning.

For anyone who doesn’t know, these statistics were championed by a former Senator named Obama. These stats were only supposed to be for a short time and when the Left realized the power of it’s flawed numbers, the Dems used it as a tool to mentally divide Blacks and pit them against everyone else. There is no way to use skewered data to say police target anyone. If the data wasn’t already predetermined it would reveal the exact opposite, but alas like with NAZI Propaganda used to vilify a sub culture of society in Law Enforcement and create conflict and instability.
The statistics show that most drivers who are stopped are breaking the law in some way. Black drivers do that more often than other drivers. They also drive without valid licenses more than other drivers. They also smoke weed while driving more than other drivers. Combine all those things with the fact that the city/department chooses to deploy the majority of its officers in high crime areas, which also coincidentally happen to be historically black neighborhoods, and traffic stops of black drivers increase. The numbers would be even higher if black drivers actually stopped when police try to stop them. The "community" wants police to stop crime, but they can't stop committing crimes, encouraging criminals, excusing criminal behavior, demonizing any and all police activities, etc. Sometimes the numbers just show the truth, which is that black people are responsible for most of the crime, especially violent crime, and when you commit most of the crime, you're likely to encounter the police more often. Is there some misconception that the Chicago police department is made up of 100% white males? There are black and brown and all other colors of people wearing the uniform, and they all pretty much stop the same people, regardless of their own race. Are the black cops racist for stopping black drivers? The whole "y'all stopped me for no reason" excuse doesn't really work when you're unlicensed, speeding, smoking weed, weaving all over, running red lights, sipping Hennessey, all while not wearing a seatbelt and blasting your music. No one gets stopped just because they're black. Their neverending study already showed that. If people are being stopped just because they're black, were all the other drivers around them white? I suspect the vast majority of them were also black, yet only a certain one was stopped. There must be something else about those drivers that gets them stopped instead of the thousands of other black drivers not being stopped.

Drivers already know that their plate sticker is expired or if there are any other regulatory violations regarding the vehicle. Let the “walkers” give them a ticket when the ride is parked. To hell with blue cards. Listen up officers, to hell with traffic stops. Don’t do it. Let it go. Then at the end of the shift go home, relax, don’t give it a second thought. Do your time, retire, collect pension. You do not get bonus pay for making stops, arrests, etc. As a matter of fact you open yourself up to losing money, cause if a “citizen”, even illegals, beef you will lose. Stay Safe
My partners and I discussed this issue shortly after we had to fill out those white stat stickers that were attached to the back of the mover. we knew that iT was a matter of time that the dept. and its officers would be accused of racial profiling in order for aclu lawyers to commit legalized theft of taxpayer monies. Our solution was a great great percentage of our stops were based on a burn't out headlight since we always worked 3rd watch and wanted to work VRI. We wouldn't even know or care what gender the driver was when we decided to stop the vehicle since anyone with eyes can see a vehicle 3 blocks away with a headlight out. p.s. i miss those guys but living it up in retirement.

Harvard Professor Says "All Hell Broke Loose" When His Study Revealed No Racial Bias In Police Shootings
Fryer, a highly respected economist, told Weiss about the intense blowback that was dealt to him after he published a study in 2016 showing there were "no racial differences in officer involved-shootings."
After the study was published, in a matter of days, the professor said, "All hell broke loose," and people were "losing their minds when they didn't like the result."
"I lived under police protection for about 30 to 40 days," he said, adding, "I had a seven-day-old daughter at the time…I was going to the grocery store to get diapers with an armed guard."
Fryer told Weiss the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014 is how he initially became interested in the topic. He was shocked by the result because he expected the study to find evidence of bias in police shootings.
The biggest conclusion from the study (read: here): "Yet, on the most extreme use of force – officer-involved shootings – we are unable to detect any racial differences in either the raw data or when accounting for controls."
At the time, liberal elites warned Fryer not to publish the study because it would ruin his career. Then he said in 2019, Claudine Gay, who was Harvard's dean at the time, placed him on a two-year leave for alleged sexual harassment.

Why for once dosent ANYONE in this department actually address this point for the alleged racial profiling being allegedly performed by not only caucasian but CPD personnel of ALL races: there are 22 seperate districts in Chicago, the majority are black or Hispanic, and the personnel in every district is, unless a catastrophic event occurs, are limited to staying within the boundaries of said districts. there is no latitude to leave your district unless ordered or detailed. if the district happens to be primarily black or hispanic, and motorists are observed violating traffic laws, the vehicle appears to be possibly stolen, etc., who exactly are officers supposed to pull over in the co9urse of their daily activity and duties? I know, thats too logical a question that apparently no one in authority in CPD or the city apparently dosent want to address.

These stories will never stop. Leftists will never allow the truth on race and criminality to get out. They must twist comparisons based on racial percentages in the general public, because any actual statistical analysis ruins their narrative. A black male professor at Harvard completes a legit academic study into racial bias and police shootings and he finds no racial bias. His career gets destroyed as a result. So, it’s pointless to even address these stories, you can’t win. The best you can do is point out to anyone who is interested that these studies/analysis aren’t valid. They don’t make the right statistical analysis of the proper sets and subsets of race and criminality and recidivism. These stories are total made-up bullshit. The question to ask is “why don’t these stories get any pushback by any elected officials?” Are we to believe that Chicago hires racists? Even after all the testing and interviews and training? Shame on the city.

It's the racism of lower expectations at work.
It's not only expected that blacks kill each other in much higher numbers. It's ACCEPTED.
But police go where the crime is, and make arrests accordingly. Nobody is bitching that police predominantly arrest males. Are police sexist too?

The gang members are doing shootings in those areas from vehicles. So naturally there will be more stops. 99% of gang members are black or Hispanic, so that’s who gets stopped in those areas. Go look at the Chicago homicide map. Very simple. Chuck is not very intelligent and he has big hips.
He’s not dumb at all, he knows exactly what he’s doing and why he’s doing it. We are low hanging fruit for them. They run a hit piece and the dept just eats it with no response.

Civilian here. Sorry you guys have to put up with this. Sometimes, I think the cops should just not do anything on the West and South sides. They don't want policing, and whatever you do won't be appreciated anyway. Don't do anything to put your jobs or pensions in jeopardy. They have to want law and order before they can get it. And it appears they prefer having gangbangers in charge right now.
