Back before the plandemic and before The Hiatus, certain published and unpublished lib-tarded readers would write to us and demand to know why we voted Republican as it was "not in our self interests."
How's that working for you nowadays?
A $100 grocery haul in 2019 costs almost $140 today — nearly 40 percent more for the same common items, causing consumers to “become creative to cope” with crippling inflation.
According to a Wall Street Journal analysis of NielsenIQ data on the prices of everyday foods such as meat, vegetables, starches, and snacks, Americans are facing a dramatic increase across all categories.
“A Benjamin just isn’t what it used to be,” the Journal’s Stephanie Stamm and Jesse Newman wrote, alongside graphs showing that the average $100 grocery list now costs 36.5 percent more compared to five years ago.
This is going to dramatically affect not just current living standards, but retirement standards as well.
So we can safely point out that voting democrat is definitely against everyone's self interest moving forward.

I enjoy SCC’s posts on the economy and finance. Your points are always intelligent and dead on. Inflation should be taught to kids in jr high - especially what causes it - like assholes in Congress who keep selling bonds to make up for massive budget shortfalls and then selling the bonds to the Federal Reserve Bank who are more than happy to print dollars to buy Congress’ bonds. Our current inflation is deeply and seriously hurting blacks, Latinos, Asians, whites, Muslims, Jews, Christians, young and all. All should band together and vote all Democrats out of office, especially Joe Biden who continues the print money train for illegals and by handing hundreds of billions of printed dollars to foreign counties. Our country is going bankrupt … inflation is a manifestation of this overspending by government.
Please, please draft more SCC articles on economics and finance. I believe they are informative and educational for your readers. Most people don’t know this stuff, but really should.

I retired in 2019. I'd speculate that in 2020, the rank and file probably voted 65-35 Republican (read TRUMP). I'd guess it's more likely 85-15 TRUMP this time around. At least.

50+ years ago, some asshole eliminated the gold standard basis of the value of a US dollar.
Thus, what was $1.00 degraded into being worth, as a means of exchanging currency for goods/services/wages, 10¢, aka, $.10.
So, to grasp this, simply move decimal point to the left one space, for every currency transaction you experience.
Paycheck, bills, price on items, bank account balance, etc.
What could be purchased, 50+ years ago, for a single $1.00, now costs $10.00.
What was hourly pay 50+ years ago, say, $1.50, is now $15.00.
This is the pattern.
Inflation is not merely current increases in costs, it is also decreases in currency unit value.
Having to pay numerically more for the same or less, is the source of all economic induced emotional distress.
Move the decimal point on everything valued in US dollars to the left one space.
Everything.
Pay/Prices/Savings, etc.
Everything.
Nothing will change doing this.
All ratioes will remain the same.
Emotionally, what was priced at, say, $5,000, will now be priced at $500.
What was paid for wages now at $500, will be then paid at $50.
Yet, $50 will still purchase same then as $500 does now.
Were the values of coinage to remain valid, with paper currency now devalued to 1/10 of face value, those pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, half dollars and silver dollars would become a bonanza for those who save their every formerly precious penny.
This would be most helpful to those who have little incomes.
And a boost to economic activities, since, by definition, those with little incomes have no reason(s) to not exchange currency for goods and services now. They know too well the actual value of money/curency is solely in what it can be exchanged for that has innate value.
As for other nations honoring this adjustment to the US currency, if they do not co operate, tariff the fuck out of their exports to here.
Large numerical values of currencies are an illusion that feeds the greedy natures of those deluded by big numbers.
