PPP Scandal Continues

But not at OEMC and barely with the schools.

Only when police are involved:

  • Two Illinois State Police officers from the Chicago area are suspected of defrauding the federal Paycheck Protection Program that provided loans to businesses struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On their loan applications, one said he ran a sports program for kids, listing “babysitting” as the primary purpose for his business. The other said he was a “handyman.”

The agency has filed complaints against the officers with the Illinois State Police Merit Board, which metes out discipline.

The state police provided the complaints to the Chicago Sun-Times....

Two? That's it?

OEMC has upwards of twenty employees under investigation. The schools, probably closer to fifty. And the Slum Times doesn't seem to be filing any FOIA requests for those investigations.

Guess we know where the priorities lie.

The City, State, and Feds all know those most responsible for abusing the PPP’s are 1’s. Because of this inconvenient truth, the City and State will avoid disciplining anyone by using the excuse that since the PPP loans are Federal money, we are going to hold off on discipline until the abusers are convicted of Federal charges-which the Feds won’t even charge because there will be too many 1’s to prosecute and not enough 2’s. The end result will be that NOTHING will happen to ANYONE who lied on their applications, received, and spent PPP loans.

Read the whole article, couple of goofballs. Claiming they needed the loans for their side businesses but didn't list anything related to that business income on the tax returns! Pure genius.

Too much fraud to prosecute everyone.

However, expect some elected officials and others involved in their networks to face Federal charges.

Fed prosecutors are slow.

I expect at least two Chicago electeds to be charged. Maybe more.

The names have been mentioned here before.

I'd half bet some targets are wearing wires. I hope.
Plus family members.

Who is this guy involved? Is this the same guy? Would he be this stupid just wondering common name but strange.

They are going after President Donald Trump for so much stupid nonsense when the swamp is wide open for arrests, they talk about the January 6 nonsense look at this pool of candidates to throw into federal penitentiaries plus since they were on the job at the time they could take away those generous, unearned pensions, and give those pensions to the hard-working police officers.

If I were accused of PPP loan fraud, I would have to argue that I applied for a LOAN. When I applied for the LOAN, I fully intended to pay back the LOAN. Then, after I got the LOAN money, the government told me I didn't have to pay it back. They have to prove that I never intended to pay back the LOAN.

atleast two lieutenants and dozens of officers at the jail have taken out fraudulent PPP loans. The sheriffs office and county IG are dragging their feet with the investigations.

What is going on with the people at OEMC? Will they have a rehire program for the people who are getting fired, just like they have a rehire program for the people at the CPD?

That's not the point. The point is that there was FRAUD while APPLYING for the loan. There were LIES on the application. The fraudsters were not QUALIFIED for the LOANS. See how that works. It is not that they got loans that were forgiven, it is that they received the loans fraudulently and were not qualified to receive them.

I hope you're not a cop but you're probably one our brilliant exempts or one of the idiots that appeared in that stupid promotional video a while back. The fraud has nothing to do with paying back the loan. It was known from the beginning that it was free govt cheese. The fraud is from lying on the loan. Lying about the existence of a fictitious business and lying about the income generated by said business. If you can't provide tax documents, articles of incorporation, etc to support what you claimed on the application you're fucked. Even if you falsely obtained the loan and later paid it back you're still fucked because you lied on a federal loan application.

Well, genius, you have to actually qualify for the LOAN. You can't just pretend to have a business that you don't actually have in order to get a LOAN that you're not actually entitled to receive. Obtaining the LOAN under false pretenses, regardless of your intention to pay it back, is the problem. Stupidity like yours is the reason so many people think they can justify their criminal acts.

Somebody, feds I think not state, extended the statute of limitations by 10 years. So hopefully a Trump regime will prosecute the fuck out of these pieces of shit.

If I were a politician I'd be very careful what I said around that Uptown alderman linked to PPP loans and the City Treasurer. Treasurer's name appeared right next door to the Uptown Alderman's address for a loan.

Might be a different person with the same name, but it's ONE HELL of a coincidence. Feebs like to turn people and work it into a bigger case. These could be career making cases if the fraud goes high enough.

There is video of honor roll students shooting each other, Higher education folks breaking and entering to rally for terrorists and so much more with no prosecutions. However, non-violent thieves, in a situation where the government invited people to steal, may face prosecution.

This business of selective prosecution that leaves violent offenders on the streets must stop. Ronald Reagan would grab this country by its balls and: tame the progressive bullshit, scare the terrorists into diapers and put able bodies to work.

Trump is the closest we have, despite his oratory disasters.

SCC

Heard from a friend.

The real number at State is closer to 50 all of which are ABLE minded = 1s. The capt of internal affairs retired early trying to avoid criminal charges and save his pension. There are Lts n Capts who have been in bad shootings, fatal squad car crash, have extra marital affairs at work and never leave their houses during the course of work week, all of which is covered up because they are our betters

So when the public waits 3 hours for a crash report or sees the absolute recklessly on the road ways remember those bosses who lead from behind and destroyed a once proud agency.

Lots of OEMC (police dispatchers and call takers nobody from Fire Operarions - be reminded) have been fired or they resigned.
They’re all on mandates to work doubles or another 4 on the end. Their days off being canceled. Breaks being canceled.
Then they turn around and hire more of “Trotter’s Church People” type. All applying for FMLA and already abusing sick time.

Nothing changes.

Ask the black community who commits fraud to participate in every single social program handout they can. Most of these programs go completely unchecked or are very loosely monitored for fraud. Our tax dollars are just free money for the lazy and fraudulent recipients of these programs. They applied because they thought it would be like everything else and just be free money with no consequences. So far they were right. We'll see if there are ever any consequences, but it's not looking very promising.

Not 2, multiply that by 10-20..... allegedly protected class of workers and they won't do shit about it. Nothing will prob happen, Bogard probably keeps his pension and nothing else happens. Meanwhile, they want ALL of ISP patrol to do field inspections (means all of us for one day stop patrol and head to HQ to be inspected by our brass) for HR/social media......... lolololol as the state burns, let's have a statewide inspection! ISP is a joke now. I feel bad for all our newbies that want to work but see our incompetent our upper command. Kelly just wants a fed bump, doesn't care anymore, and the rest all try to stroke off Owen's ego. We have many good folks, but we also have many whom are afraid to speak up.

DNC is coming, we will dump 700 people to Chicago, DITCH the rest of Illinois coverage (some STILL have zero police coverage at certain blocks of time in a day), AND we won't tell anyone what/how we are doing because we know more than you. Sincerely, Col Nutbar Owen. *insert cool video in front of patrol car to really drive the point home*
