This has what to do with teaching?
Leaked documents show the Chicago Teachers Union is making incredibly costly demands of Chicago Public Schools – and therefore of taxpayers – in its upcoming contract negotiations.
In addition to $51,000 average teacher pay raises, 45 days off each school year and handing cash to asylum seekers, CTU also wants teachers to be able to obtain extended leaves from school to go work for its own purposes.
First, it’s demanding leave time for teachers to go work for its non-profit, the CTU Foundation.
It’s also demanding teachers be allowed to go on leave to take appointed offices, such as those given by Mayor Brandon Johnson, CTU’s former employee who it bankrolled into office. That creates a conflict of interest in certain situations, such as contract negotiations, when both sides of the bargaining table are CTU affiliates.
And while they wouldn't be paid, they'd accrue seniority.
But what is this "cash for asylum seekers" bull$hit? We don't recall electing any of these teachers to do what the City Council is supposed to be doing. Or what they're supposed to be putting a stop to.
How about maybe putting some actual goals in place that are in line with your jobs? Like getting Johnny to read at grade level, to do math at grade level, to perhaps function and behave within the law?

Is over reach for example the 7263 team counting their tour of duty for attending ST Jude’s whole unit 050 is extremely short especially on 3rd watch while their SGT FP whines when his guys are told they have to work the watch and actually take jobs except gun arrests of course. Complete joke they have no respect in the unit and are a complete joke!! When will the LT and Commander take charge and address this situation ?!

What can I say, this benefits me since my wife is a teacher, nothing wrong in my eyes. By the way her students score at 95 to 99% on all standarized test, at least she is earning her check. At the end of the day it's about ME, ME, ME, fuck everyone else just like CPD does? Remember VRI, how many would just go for the money and not to work. I mean you were stupid if you worked, it was a cash cow.

How about this, if the CTU wants to hand out cash to illegals they can do it by withholding it from all members paychecks. Kind of like union dues.

The CTU can give as much cash away as they want. They can use their pension money, union money, or even payroll deduction. Just keep the taxpayers out of it.
This is a perfect example of how and why workers should not have unions. I believe in 100% free market capitalism. Come to work, shut your mouth and do your job.

Minimum requirement to be a CPS teacher in Chicago is a GED and a Drivers License. ( at least a valid one).

The commies have been in control of academia in this country for a very long time. They know to indoctrinate them when they are young. And here we sit today, a bunch of snowflakes who don’t know if they are male or female, don’t know which bathroom to use, think it’s ok to dress and act like a bunny rabbit, horse, or a dog, and think males can get pregnant and nurse a child. People responsible for this need to be hung, after trials of course. For decades now, CPS has been graduating kids that can't read...and every year they want more money for dumber kids. And they always get it, because that is how they operate.

You do understand that this is a public blog? Why do you need to air our dirty laundry for the whole world to see? Instead of being a snitch, you could have brought this to the attention of your chain of command. In the old days, we had a saying - snitches get stitches.
Two things:
1. CTU also wants their teachers' abortions to be paid for by taxpayers. (insert joke here)
-So, CPS teachers (that teach their students to be accountable and take responsibility for their own actions) want to just castoff their poor actions?
2. Official letters were received by several principals from the US Dept of Education this week for money mismanagement and malfeasance. LET THE RESIGNATIONS BEGIN.

Public school staff I have seen so far are garbage. They couldn't care less about the children. They allow bullying by students and staff. I would never allow my children to attend CPS. Even CPS teachers send their children to private schools. Please stop wasting our tax dollars.

Private school teacher, public school product here and son of retired and deceased PO. I consider myself and my colleagues the last line of defense against the CTU machine in Chicago, and damn proud of it. To hell with CPS- I never sold my soul despite doing the same job and making half of what I could. Have to kill me before I join or support their ranks. They pushed for and won the demise of school choice in ill annoy and will do all they can do to completely destroy education in ill annoy and specifically, crook county for a monopoly and job security. Fuck them, I loathe those people and make no mistake about it- there are no good teachers in CPS..even the ones who bitch about CPS..as they are perfectly happy working for a company they don't agree with as long as the exorbitant pay comes in while the real educators on the other side of the fence work twice as hard for half as much. Proud parochial school teacher.
