Parade Cut Short
We can hardly wait for the downtown two-day extravaganza!
The annual Little Village Cinco de Mayo parade was rerouted and then cut short Sunday after shots were fired along the parade route, officials said, though paradegoers still reveled the chance to celebrate Mexican culture and history.
The Chicago Fire Department responded to the scene near Cermak Road and Washtenaw Avenue, but they found no one with injuries to take to the hospital.
Chicago police worked with parade organizers to reroute the celebration, which was scheduled to start at noon, heading west along Cermak from Damen Avenue to Marshall Boulevard. Instead, the parade started closer to 12:30 p.m. south on Damen to Blue Island Avenue.
At 1:30 p.m., the Chicago Police Department announced in a statement that the parade had been canceled “out of an abundance of caution.”
Does anyone know if the Cubs game was canceled "out of an abundance of caution"?
- A man and a woman were shot outside Wrigley Field early Sunday morning, Chicago police said.
The shooting happened around 1:13 a.m. in the 1000-block of Addison Street in Wrigleyville.
The victims told officers an unknown man shot and drove off in a dark-colored SUV.
Who are we kidding? They didn't even delay the White Sox game after a CTU member smuggled a handgun into Comiskey in her fat flaps and shot another attendee with a negligent discharge. We're waiting for the accusations of "racism!" to start up any second now.
Did you know that the scene of the shots fired is mere spitting distance from "lil homicide" was blasting away at passing cars before his demise?

Why have I been repeatedly lectured by Mexican American friends or native Mexicans that Cinco de Mayo is a “white people” thing and it’s no big deal and not celebrated in Mexico…and then there’s a parade for it in the Mexican part of the city? I’m wishing anyone and everyone Happy Cinco de Mayo next year!

Well in all fairness they did cancel the Irish parade, however no one cried racism. They should cancel every parade that isn't a parade for AMERICA. Any and all other parades should be canceled...and yes that means the pride parade too! These idiots don't even know what cinco de mayo even stands for, just a sorry excuse to act like animals.

The city wants to have a two day music festival in Grant Park for the El Grito Mexican Festival that happens on September 16.
Can you imagine the crime, gangs, drugs and fighting that will happen? Stop rewarding bad behavior.

The patriotism overflowed on the streets with citizens draping their hoods with flags, flagging contorted arthritic-like hand signals identifying your neighborhood association membership, waving enormous flags on sticks out of the windows of their vehicles, deafening chants of viva la America, grown men urinating everywhere, married men whistling at the young girls in the presence of their wives and children, drunk driving while unlicensed, beer bottles and beer cans littering the street and the public gratitude for the identified foreign nation that failed them in providing a better life. And the blind loyalty to democrats who run said parades.
In the eyes of Byron Shitshow Lopez aka “Lil Twatsy” it was a success chaos and violence is what a Socialist craves.

Maybe because it’s not his ward numb nuts. It’s the communist Sigcho-Lopez who declared on his twitter that a good time was had by all and that the parade just needed a little rerouting is all. Raymond Lopez is one of the few alderman that speaks his mind and backs the police and you want to blame him? His ward was the one where the person was killed during the takeover and he definitely shared his opinion about it so don’t know what you are yapping about.

The solution is obvious: create federally funded midnight soccer leagues.
I like in the one video where an officer throws a banger to the ground. You can then hear the officer say to the banger “ Are you crying ? Are you crying? You gotta be fucking kidding me ?”

Easy there, keyboard warrior. hq was warned about it prior, but they did nothing. This job has been killed by red tape and policy. Every single use of force move must be justified with trr and no one wants to start whooping gang bangers asses more than coppers, but is it really worth it nowadays? 30 got locked up anyways... it was a 12hr+day.
