Terry Teahan- merit for what reason?
Teahan’s wife worked at the Academy with Snelling and at the Awards Section approving awards for Carter, etc. I guess that pays off in the long run. That has to be one of the worst merit picks in years.
and one who has 90 pending and more than a few other use of force beefs in the waiting. A cowboy who will bring disgrace to this department as soon as the media looks past his connections. I think LTs should at least be able to pass Homan Square background checks.

Vanek appeared in Sergeants school with purple hair. Not one coward Sergeant, Lieutenant or Command staff member said a thing because they all knew that Ed Burke would call the Superintendent. She even wore that hair to graduation at Navy Pier in front of the Mayor. She openly cried when she was given her assignment and miraculously it was changed. Who knew that even this week Snelling and Waller coerced by Hein and fearful of Burke would allow this promotion.

Sgt Syed Quadri..well deserved. One of the most knowledgeable guys on the department and the real police. True meaning of earned NOT given.

Charlie Beck did the right thing as Interim Supe. He dumped merit promotions; was shocked that CPD used them. Then he was replaced and merit came right back, fully supported by the current Supe who had a couple of merit promotions on his own to get to where he is at.
Burke and Vanek are Family, She is Worthless She will never work as a field LT , House mouse forever.

Hein is a stroke off and trash of a leader. Came to the academy to address preservice sergeants acting like a tough guy, telling us to hold everyone accountable including uniform standards. He shows up wearing dress uniform and his orthopedic shoes. Get a life.
We hearing a rumor that on the newer squad cars that in an effort to build trust within the community that the "we serve and protect" decals will be replaced with "Trust Us We see no evil. Hear no evil speak no evil" The Star decals will also be replaced with images of the Three Stooges that run Chicago (you know who they are)

Pay close attention: Snelling is out of touch. He’s been hiding at the academy for years. He’s only mastered the gym. He’s just now learning how the rest of this department works. If he knew better he’d make better selections. He was a good superintendent pick by demographic only, not because his knowledge of the different unit. Many others are making decisions for him.

So when is Marc Vanek’s hostile work environment detail to Area 5 over with? I think the investigation is done so it’s time to send him back to 011. Don’t think we forgot about this. If he doesn’t go back there’s a couple lawsuits coming

There's not one detective in Area 3 or Area 5 and probably Area 4 that would work with Quadri. I don't think that any tac teams from other districts trust him either. So come to your own conclusions....

Leave that man alone, he worked hard in the streets and studied harder and made it by score twice, nothing was given to him. Any district will be lucky to have him but I hope he goes back 024th and continues the great work he was doing. If a crime is committed against me or my family, I will be glad if he investigate it, because he's relentless and won't stop until he finds out who did it. Congratulations SQ.

Who was calling in all those felony pinches over the last 15 years? Get to know him; he's an excellent cop and a very good guy. By the way, I've never seen a team more loyal to its sergeant, which should tell you something. Those guys come in early and stay late, OT or not. No one takes more pride in their job, and like the above poster, if you or your family were the victim of a crime, you would want him working on it.
Sgt Quadri has created numerous critics in the D unit for finding victims that Detectives "could find" and finding video that Detectives stated didn't exist. Tact Sgt Quadri solved over 10 citywide patterns by putting in the work and gets labeled as "dirty" by lazy ass, do nothing Detectives, who are allowed to go thru the motions in Area 3. Putting RBT detectives in districts has been a major failure and Sgts like Quadri have stepped up, Congrats Lt. Well deserved!!!
If we can’t get rid of merit, would this improve it?
1. Mandate a percentage of merits from districts, not 100% from units.
2. Mandate a percentage that are actively working on the street
3. Mandate that a percentage of merits be made by an exempt who made rank (detective, sergeant, lieutenant) off of their score at least once.
I guess I’m dreaming, but being realistic , merit isn’t ever going to go away.

You guys backing Quadri have no idea what goes on behind the scenes... Stuff that he and his team do that can't be mentioned here. Granted... he does a ton of work, gets a lot of good info, but unfortunately while it can be used to maybe Ex Clear cases it cant be used to Clear Close cases... Anyway, Quadri is all about Quadri. He has been protected by certain bosses who buy into his bs and beleive it or not by detectives who suspend cases hes involved with rather than use the info he gathered... He's a smart guy that thinks he's smarter than everyone else. He's more concerned about getting the info but less concerned about how he gets it. And of course his team loves him.... that's part of the con. I'm sure he'll be an exempt eventually....
